- What are the bullet trains like in South Korea? We've taken one in Japan before, but today we make the journey from Seoul to Busan on the KTX bullet train reaching a top speed of 305 kilometres per hour! SPOILER ALERT: there were no zombies.

Yes, KtX trains are a bit old ones, while there is another bullet train one, SRT, which starts from Gangnam, initially going through
underground tunnel for abt 50 km and then emerging to surface. SRT is a new one, so offers nicer and more comfortable service.

@@jamieandhannah_ The train you boarded is the oldest model since it was introduced. There is also the new KTX 산천(Sancheon), and the recently introduced newest KTX 이음(E-UM). In particular, the KTX 이음(EUM) has a better interior and has a smartphone wireless mobile charging slot, and the first class seats are electric recliner seats and touch screen like an airplane. In your video, you look at the train time board scene at the station (0:47), you can see that it is marked as KTX 산천(Sancheon) or KTX이음.

I don't usually take the train, so I looked it up.Whether it is KTX or KTX Sancheon changes depending on KORAIL allocation, and there is no difference in fares between the two trains. The only difference is the price between a standard room and a special room (or premium room).
In addition, there is also an SRT (Super Rapid Train) that operates in the central region. Since it opened only a few years ago, the main SRT train models are the new KTX Sancheon.

KTX has several different kinds of trains. I bet you got on the oldest one. FYI, The max speed of KTX(model : HaeMoo) is 421km/hour and its max operating speed is 305 km/hour.
We must have got on an older version! It was still so fun and such a smooth journey! 😁

KTX not check up the ticket is the autometic check up the ticket also in Korea 1mins or 5mins delay also very late need to on time. also that vending machine I saw foreign card work it depend the bank trouble issue like that. I saw other youtuber use it on foreign credit card
Ahhh interesting! You’re right, it is probably an issue with our bank! We loved the KRX though, love how efficient and clean it was!

Pernally, I think HSTs in Taiwan and Japan are far better.
We'd probably agree! We took the Shinkansen in Japan about 5 years ago and we definitely remember that it felt a bit more "premium" than the one in Korea. We didn't ride a HST in Taiwan but even the regular TRA trains were really nice to travel on! Very spacious, quiet and comfortable
