"Queen of Mushrooms" was given to Shiitake Mushrooms, then the name Emperor Mushroom belongs to the Milky Mushroom family.
There are many types of mushrooms in the world, estimated at more than 70 thousand species, including medicinal mushrooms, edible mushrooms and inedible poisonous mushrooms. Our Emperor Mushroom is in the mainstream group of edible mushrooms and is an extremely delicious and attractive grilled combination dish.
    Name: Emperor Mushroom
Regional name: Milk Mushroom, Milky White Mushroom, Milky Mushroom
    English name: Milky Mushroom
    Scientific name: Calocybe indica
    Family: Lyophyllaceae
    Order: Agaricales
    Higher class: Calocybe
    Origin: India
Emperor Mushrooms originate from West Bengal, eastern India (India), people in this country often see them growing quite a lot on both sides of the road in some of their states.
This Milky mushroom usually only grows after summer, after rains, high humidity, and slightly cold climate. Nowadays, the places where they often grow naturally are often tropical countries, including Vietnam, because they were introduced in 2004.
Nam Khoe had the opportunity to hear about Milky Emperor Mushrooms since they were introduced to Vietnam and the first place they were present was the Imperial City of Hue. This mushroom is cared for by the hands of the people of the ancient capital there and watered with the cool and sweet Huong Giang water.
Emperor mushrooms have been commercialized and are present in many countries around the world. They are a type of mushroom with quite high consumption, and they have gradually become an indispensable delicious dish for many people.
As for scientific researchers, they began to learn about this mushroom in 1974 in Calcutta. Authors or botanists including RP Purkayastha and Aindrila Chandra at that time also recorded many interesting things about this Milk Mushroom.
Besides, a botanist named Krishnamoorthy AS, Bala V also noticed that they were quite growing in Tamil Nadu in the mid-1990s. They then decided to mass-produce this mushroom commercially.
Krishnamoorthy's piece was documented in 2015 in “A Comprehensive Review of Tropical Milky White Mushroom (Calocybe indica P&C)” which you can read more about.
    Shape of Milky Mushroom
With a body that is only pure white like fresh milk from the cap to the base, they are called Milk Mushrooms or Milk White Mushrooms.
There is only one type of Emperor Mushroom but several different shapes. Although Healthy Mushrooms does not know where this classification comes from, it may be due to variety or growing conditions depending on the place. Specifically, those types are…
The small type has a small body and a large hat or a small hat.
The medium type has a medium body and a medium cap.
The big type has a big body and a big hat or a small hat.
The mushroom cap, also known as the mushroom cap, has the largest radius, is umbrella-shaped, and can be 10 - 14 cm wide. When young, the mushroom cap will have a convex shape at first and will gradually flatten over time as it matures. Above the mushroom cap there is a layer of cuticle (skin) that can easily peel off.
The membranes below the mushroom cap are also uniformly white, but as they mature, they will change slightly to a dark color.
The mushroom body has a tall cylindrical shape and is usually about 10 cm long at maturity. The base a little below the body will be shaped like a bulb, about 1.8 cm wide at the top, 3.5 cm in the middle and 2.4 cm wide at the bottom.
Although Emperor Mushroom is an edible mushroom, it has quite good and high medicinal value and can be ranked among the top quality products.
However, the medicinal properties in this mushroom are not stable, it will depend on the origin of the spawn, the way it is grown and its growing environment.
In fact, they have beneficial effects such as:
    Enhances immunity (resistance) effectively.
Has anti-cancer and anti-viral properties (like Shiitake Mushroom).
Good for the cardiovascular system and supports the treatment and improvement of cardiovascular diseases.
Supports liver detoxification and enhances effective liver function.
Enhances anti-aging and eliminates free radicals.
    …and many other effects.
WISH YOU A HAPPY NEW DAY!
