I got a contractor to install tiles he refused to work on the toilet after he took it out and told me to call a plumber. My home warranty didnt cover the issue because they plamed the contractor. I am amazed that most thing we can fix our selves by looking at UA-cam. It is not the first time i look on haw to fix thing arrounf my house on UA-cam. Thank you for sharing
I did as you had said, I could not believe it until i had done it myself. it worked great for me and i tell you sir I was amazed how well it did. Thank you a bunch
Good vid, hows this for a tip find a chisel with the exact radius of the pipe or get a machinist to make you one. No bevel same thickness entire length of tbe blade.
Nicely done. My issue is after I cut the flange off it the 3 inch gray pipe (70s) has what's left glued on the OUTSIDE and it's not coming off easy. And shouldn't you mount the NEW one at the same height as the new finished floor? Maybe use a spacer ?
Light bulb moment. I thought I was doing something wrong. I was. The internal pipe cutter only goes thru 1 thickness. I have an oscillating tool. Thanks for reminding me!
Rick - yes I do, didn’t include that in this video - but I did did drill and install tapcon screws on the ring before permanently installing the toilet
Ahh wish I'd thought to put my rag in a plastic bag instead of getting it filthy in there by itself. Nice work! The tiles look lovely. So you didn't worry about leaks from those little grooves you cut into the drain pipe?
Not really, I only cut through the original flange, and not the outer pipe - the small scratches fill back in with PVC solvent when you attach the new flange, and the new flange extends below any scratches - all good/sealed

It amazes me how you guys work on toilets without any gloves.
Thank you for making a very difficult problem become an easy fix.....really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
kenneth - glad I could help!

I liked the video. I did wonder though. Didn't you need to put any concrete screws in to hold the flange down.

Great very helpful video thanks.
So glad I could help!
You don’t screw the ring to the concrete base?

@@keithfarnsworth6452 I was wondering the same thing. Glad you cleared that up for us.

The small scratches fill in when you use the PVC solvent & the new flange extends below them too - no seal issues
@@beyondthebirdhouse4796 Excellent!
good video but its an improper install of a flange , the flange is (important) supposed to be on top of the finished flooring not below it.
Thanks for the video!
Robert De Luna - awesome, glad I could help
Are you concerned about the cuts and nicks you made into the pipe while you were cutting and chiseling the flange out?

Nice 👍
