- Hello all, hope you're enjoying yourselves. Please join me today with JINJER - Vortex - DRUMMER REACTS.
All I can say is thank you so very much to everyone who kept suggesting I investigate this band! The drums and drummer will be getting a much more deep dive on my behalf and I encourage you all to do the same. The ability of this man is unreal and he sure does have a super wonderful set up to boot!
I would also like to express what a pleasure it was to hear the singer display such a wide vocal range, she sure has some pipes on her and should be much more talked about. All members for sure must be influences on up and coming musicians!

I compete in powerlifting meets and this as well as other Jinjer tracks will be in my workout playlist for sure!
Thank you again for all the support and help. I never feel as though I teach or educate you as much as you all teach and educate me.
Stay safe and keep your stick on the ice,
Colin
Hi, check out the drum playthrough of their song "Mediator" which also shows his fantastic footwork.
The drummers name is Vlad. There is a video where he's playing this live. And he has other videos of him playing various song playthrough .
Thanks for this Andy, I’ll continue to investigate them (and him) much more - love his playing! Be well
They are quite good.
Hell yeah! You just found the best band on Earth with the most talented musicians I've heard in a LONG time. Jinjer as a whole is absolutely amazing they are all masters of their craft! Their drummer (Vlad) is a classically trained pianist and taught himself how to play drums when his old band needed a new drummer. He is a ghost notes master as you'll find out the more videos you do of them. I would definitely recommend you watching all of their videos, but since you're a drummer, maybe do Vlad's drum playthrough of their song "under the dome" and his playthrough of "Mediator" first. Just subscribed and turned on my notifications for your channel. Can't wait to see you do more Jinjer!!
Vlad is a top-tier *beast* of a musician! LOL
He's a classically trained pianist to trade, & only switched from (self-taught) guitar to (self-taught) drums in his old band because he thought that'd be a better way to get out his ideas for more interesting drumming than having to convey his thoughts to another new drummer when the old one left! o_O #AnnoyinglyTalented
Please treat yourself to his (savage) drum playthrough vid of the single "Mediator" ;)
Welcome to Jinjer! The rabbit hole you just fell in is endless, as this band has no bad songs! Meanwhile, Vlad - yes, here's the scoop; he plays "open hand" meaning he plays instruments on the right with his right hand, those on the left with left hand, and rarely crosses over. (I think he's actually right-handed) He is able to blast with both hands (one-handed single stroke 8th or 16ths, or even triplets), he currently has 2 snare drums; main in center, pop-corn (like a picalo) on right. Both are heavily padded (objects on head) which contributes to the dry sound. Lately he is also playing with a second floor tom to his left. He often plays with another hi-hat extended way out in front of the left side of kit that he only plays with his foot; no sticking. He plays rudiment style continuous stroking on the 8ths (which accounts for the "ghost" notes), and a large portion of his grooves are poly-rythmic meaning his snare beats are scarcely on 2 and 4, but rather compliment the entire rythmic under-pinnings. He's a classically trained pianist which also contributes heavily to his drum part compositions as well as the way he plays, and he's a descent guitar player and bass player. He wrote a large percentage of the album Wallflowers, minus lyrics (Tati's department). Vlad had his work seriously cut out for him when he took the reigns from Dmitry Kim, the preceding drummer who wrote the drum parts for and played on the KOE (King of Everything) album; also a monster player - super tight. Peace!
..real cool dissection...old bass player here who dabbles in drums.....yeah cuz this band.........the drummer vlad is a classically trained pianist who took up drums(self taught) because the band he was in needed a drummer....recruited by jinjer about 6 or 7 years ago.....jinjer army will give you more accurate and detailed info as well as suggestions for reaction/reviewing....good stuff man...thanks...peace....
More JINJER please 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼😈
My favorite Jinjer track for working out is older and all in Russian. Translation is "I want it I'll get it".
There are more than half a dozen drum play throughs by Vlad. Check them out. He is classical trained and plays other instruments.
JINJER - Vortex (Live Drum Playthrough Budapest, Hungary)
You will have a ball with his drum play though of "Under the dome". Should check that out next
Vlad's time signatures are insane.
Their "Pisces" video was the video made to showcase Vlad's entry into the band and well worth a reaction.
he’s got some love play thrus with the cam on him the whole time during songs in concerts. just look up vlad jinjer drum vids. great drummer. check out their song pisces live in studio
I think a good drum playthrough for you would be Under the Dome drum playthrough.
Vlad has a one take studio drum play through, songs called “Under the Dome” I think you’d appreciate it, it’s pretty insane!
Please do more with Jinjer nice to see someone appreciate their music.
Jinjer is absolutely amazing. My favorite band other than Tool 🖤 They literally don’t have a bad song. You should definitely check out more from them!! Vlad has some drum play throughs that I would love to watch you break down 🖤
(I assume as a drum nerd you know who Danny Carey is 😊)
Jinjer drummer Vlad is also a pianist. There are several videos where Vlad plays his parts solo. "Vortex" including.
some people are so lucky that they can listen to music in addition to themselves
I don't fully understand, please do elaborate. Be well
"So you're having beer with your friends the other dayyy..."
I had a feeling you'd like Jinjer and Vlad's drumming. They are all top tier musicians. Tati gets the lion's share of attention as the frontwoman, and because she's a truly remarkable singer, self taught and probably gifted by the specifics of the anatomical makeup of her own vocal apparatus. Also pretty, which never hurts. The guys are all incredible too, with lots of playthroughs on their UA-cam page. You should definitely check out some of Vlad's drum playthroughs when you can. I'd love to hear your analysis.
Haha, that's put me in a great mood Patrick! I now have a lot to investigate with regards to Jinjer. Amazing to hear yet more wonderful musicians are self taught. People have suggested a few more tracks and so they have made it into this ever growing rotation of wonderful, new bands that I'm falling in love with and grateful to you and the others for educating me. Be well :) Pitter Patter
There some good drum cam play throughs. You should check those out
If you want to figure out more details the guys have a lot of playthrough vids
Pls do the live drum cam video for the song pneuma by tool. Thx.
awesome band. but it seems like the quality of the audio decreased every time you hit play. Could be in my head.
Hey Joe, thanks for the feedback - I currently have the highest speed internet I can get in my area and run the same software as others (obs) so I’m not sure why that might be happening - I’ll do my best to look into it but not sure what could be done to improve it - any ideas I’m up for listening. Be well 😃
I definitely heard it to. I honestly was a bit surprised. I kinda thought it would be something really subtle but then it happened and it kept getting worse and worse lol.
@@DRUMNERD Sometimes technology just stops working correctly and you just need to turn it off and turn it back on.
@@MRrealmadridRaul not only technolony. I go to a bar two or three times a year for my reset.
Definitely noticeable. After every pause.
Here's the playthrough... JINJER - Vortex (Live Drum Playthrough Budapest, Hungary) ua-cam.com/video/3aS97M7fye0/v-deo.html
protip... left arrow rewinds 5 seconds. much easier to go back than mouse clicking
Heni that’s helped more than you know 🤪 thank you again. Be well
13” Tama Bubinga (sp?) snare tuned way up. A side snare, a 14” shallow floor tom (that looks like a snare drum), a 16” floor Tom, and I think he’s added another floor tom or gong drum.
Thanks for that Jason, glad to know the specs and now the sound makes sense as they're bubinga - what an absolutely gorgeous and delicious sounding wood. Be well.
Yes he has no upper toms pretty unique 👍
a "couple" ghost notes lol
Please check out “Bleed” by Messhugah. Thomas Haake is one of the best in the metal business. You won’t regret it!
Great reaction! New sub here, hope you check out more of Jinjer!
Thanks James, there might just be some jinjer today 🤷🥳🥰 be well
Here's Vlad's drum playthrough of the song, you'll be able to see what he's doing a little better. ua-cam.com/video/3aS97M7fye0/v-deo.html

Please explain sir
@@DRUMNERD Oh, that was just a quick image of my opinion. I tried to watch it again and couldn't. It doesn't mean anyone else thinks the same or different. Jinjer has been my favorite for 4 years
