@@Solunerra I feel as though which other units you have on the team are going to be the deciding factor between him and Beidou. Fischl just has to much flexibility in general to ever not be relevant.
The thing that I think a lot of people overlooked is that the first full team one can get in the game without rolling is anemo traveler, Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa. Then, at the end of the Mondstadt prologue, we get Barbara, who usually replaces one of them, usually traveler for most people. This change make the first teams we get in the game better, thus making early to mid game easier overall for new players. This can make something like Dragonspine, which is absolutely a trap for new players to do, easier to do in the long run. I really appreciate seeing changes like this where I know I struggled immensely prior to getting a 5* because the "need" to pull right away can actually be off set. Of course, hyperbloom already exists, but that's a long travel for many people to get to a Sumeru statue, even from the auto-unlocked waypoints.

People usually praise Genshin's elemental system because of how the reactions are supposedly the bread and butter of the gameplay, but I never agreed because most were so weak that if you wanted to play somewhat optimally, you'd better just stick with vape and the Dendro ones (Minus burning), hopefully this change combined with more specific reaction characters as they've been releasing with Chevy, Ororon, Navia and Emille means they're trying to make something more of the mechanics of their game that at least to me have always felt like the "potential man" memes
Despite almost doubling their dmg, the most notable thing the version 1.6 transformative reaction buffs did was help EM Venti be more comparable to Crit. Here's to hoping 5.2's buffs will have a more lasting impact...
On a meta level I doubt it will do much outside of Electro Charge teams becoming meaningfully stronger, but it makes more playstyles in general more viable, so I think it will have an impact for me at least
Something you showcased about Shatter but didn't mention is that Shatter doesn't have any ICD, nor does the blunt property of attacks. How fast you trigger shatter is only limited by how fast you can refreeze enemies.
Yeah shouldve maybe pointed that out, didnt pass my mind at the time. Furinas variable hydro application actually could make that particularly relevant
Wriothesley actually will get buffed with this. His charged attack is counted as a stagger, and since you deal most of his damage with charge attackes he will get a pretty good buff. So yay wolf man is stronger now

Not all geo damage can shatter, but given how much I use Kachina for mining crystal ore, I’m pretty sure hers can shatter. (Examples of geo damage that is not considered blunt damage are Ningguang’s plunging attack and Gorou’s charged arrow)
Freminet was my first ever c6 character (arle banner took 162 pulls..) so maybe this’ll give me a reason to build him. He won’t be amazing but he’ll be slightly better I guess
i think this video pretty clearly shows why hoyo made it such a small section in the dev discussion. because in most teams, this buff literally does nothing, since instead of encouraging building into those reactions transformative side, they are doing a chevy/kinich/ororon and only having procing the reaction lead to more personal damage
Burning damage found dead in a ditch. :( Will remain just for pyro app. I'm wondering about how much better overvape teams will perform. A buffed electro charge and overload in addition to the usual vapes. Might finally make overvape Yoimiya as good as basic bitch vape. Always been one of my favourites.
I wonder how good a f2p ororon electro-charged team will be. So Ororon, Fischl, Sucrose, Xingqiu. Bc both Ororon and Fischl do additional electro hits during overcharged reactions.
my boy razor getting fully promoted to elemental master, after the dendro team with burgeon, overload and electrocharged, he will potentially be able to do decent damage with a freeze, shatter, superconduct, electrocharged comp with like xq and a cryo, can't wait to try him out
Wrio's charge attack will shatter, right? I'm actually kinda curious what the damage increase could be on that hit specifically. I got him at C1 and several teams I play him in can give him external EM buffs.
I play him with r2atlas , I’m c1 to , so I already use shatter . I failed to get his signature ( got Vivillet signature instead ✍️) I love atlas for the raw stable cryo dmge , so I can solo abys or mono cryo . Tho , I don’t really think em shatter will be that good , well see …but if it work , as for melt , the widsith will probably be better .
Yep, I think it has some potential to make EM worthwhile in freeze contexts, and maybe there is increased value to EM for doing teams with Furina and off field pryo with Wrio (or Frem)
This might be a noob question, but do these changes affect what artifacts we should use? I want to build Sethos, but do these changes mean we have to build our characters differently as well? For Sethos, does that mean I should build him without any CR/CD?
It’s not usually gonna result in units that you normally build for crit to suddenly be ignoring crit. It’s not that big of a change. But it can very well change what artifacts are best in a given situation. EM will be more valuable, therefore its value as a substat or mainstat in contexts where you trigger a lot of these reactions is higher now. High enough to change the build and notice the difference? Depends on a lot of factors like the exact team composition, enemy situation, and how highly your units are invested in. Sethos with more EM is better now, and it’s possible sacrificing crit/dmg bonus for EM is worthwhile in AoE situations, as an example
Team I'm eager to try in 5.2 : - Old-school Sucrose Taser : XQ - Fischl - Beidou - Sucrose - ShatterBloom : EM Candace - Dendro - Cryo (credit to Arcanic_Soul on genshin subreddit), yup the shield hit does blunt dmg thus shattering freeze ^^ so it rely on bloom & shatter dmg thus the EM requirement ^^ - Razor shenanigans (and not Zajeff's thundering fury)
Also NaXingKu ft Eula/Freminet is actually GOAT in practice. Like all the doomposting on eula and the “physical meta” as a whole only to realize the way forward is not mono/single reaction focus but rather BAMMM THIS IS YOUR REACTION SOUPS TAKE THAT and like (Already used Hyperbloom core NaXingKu Eula to comfortably clear the upper half of the last and this season of the Abyss.
In situations against freezable enemies, it may make sense, depending on how big your freminets crit hits are (which c6 affects significantly). Most likely on a very invested Freminet Id guess no since its not as universal, but if you are running 4pc Songs (which gives a flat dmg buff to frem from Sige's healing), I think it may be more viable to build more EM since the flat dmg bonus can mitigate having lower attack. So I dunno where the breakpoint is for it making sense building EM on him, but its certainly more of an option to consider than before
Overload and Electro Charged are both reactions being triggered by a full EM Kuki in Yoi Burgeon, therefore, this patch can be argued to be a Yoi Burgeon buff
Yeah there is a reason I showed that team. I cut out a few minutes of me yapping about how the gain is less with Nahida, and how I like how this change benefits non-Nahida bloom teams the most. But I chose to leave it at "how much value this will be for bloom will be variable." For Nahida/Haitham/Kuki/XQ this basically does nothing, but it uplifts lower investment options and should bridge the gap between Nahida and non Nahida bloom teams, which I think is a very good change.
Electrocharged will be rare yes (not impossible if hydro application is fast enough, like C6 Xingqiu can on a single target), but since dendro and cryo don't react both auras can coexist on an enemy so they can get quickened and superconducted at the same time.
Hmm Electro charged might actually beat Vape now. If 80% CR & 160% CD = average crit multiplier of 2.28. 2.28* 1.5(vape) = 3.42 Now compare this to 2.0x2 for electo-charged.
There is this 1.0 old team that I really love for Electro-Charged. Sucrose-Beidou-Xingqu-Fischl. Will I be able to work this team now? I was never able to pull Beidou during the 1.0 cycle so I never had the chance to play around with them.
All 4 of these characters have stayed powerful and relevant, and this team works totally fine right now already. All four of them have really solid constellations that make them significantly stronger than baseline, too, and it's likely you have several or all of them at C6 already (I started in 3.x, am free to play, and I have three of them at C6). After 5.2 this team will be even stronger.
At least already better than aggravate like yae miko fischl furina sayu is better than yae miko fischl nahida sucrose. Hyperbloom has kuki who consolidates healing and trigger for dmg so not sure.

i think this video pretty clearly shows why hoyo made it such a small section in the dev discussion. because in most teams, this buff literally does nothing, since instead of encouraging building into those reactions transformative side, they are doing a chevy/kinich/ororon and only having procing the reaction lead to more personal damage
Burning damage found dead in a ditch. :( Will remain just for pyro app.
I'm wondering about how much better overvape teams will perform. A buffed electro charge and overload in addition to the usual vapes. Might finally make overvape Yoimiya as good as basic bitch vape. Always been one of my favourites.
as an old Chongyun I am very, very excited for the shatter buffs
a buff to my shenhe freeze plunge team? sure I'll take it
Shatter is 3x. Chongyun mains will be happy.
I wonder how good a f2p ororon electro-charged team will be.
So Ororon, Fischl, Sucrose, Xingqiu. Bc both Ororon and Fischl do additional electro hits during overcharged reactions.
Damn my EM Raiden on Chevreuse Overload now actually deals damage
cant wait to get oneshotted by the enemies 😍
razor moving to d tier with this one
0:45 finally, I was not building a lot because I need a ton of wood
kaveh shatter blooom will be legendary
my boy razor getting fully promoted to elemental master, after the dendro team with burgeon, overload and electrocharged, he will potentially be able to do decent damage with a freeze, shatter, superconduct, electrocharged comp with like xq and a cryo, can't wait to try him out
Wrio's charge attack will shatter, right? I'm actually kinda curious what the damage increase could be on that hit specifically. I got him at C1 and several teams I play him in can give him external EM buffs.
I play him with r2atlas , I’m c1 to , so I already use shatter . I failed to get his signature ( got Vivillet signature instead ✍️) I love atlas for the raw stable cryo dmge
, so I can solo abys or mono cryo .
C6 tripple crowned Lisa haver 😈
@@Solunerra thanks for the info! ❤️
I'm definitely looking forward to it, I want to see how the freminet will turn out.
I'm just happy Sucrose and Fischl are getting more buffs
Okay hear mea out.....
FULL EM SHATTER XIAO.
Xiao, furina, Diona + flex
Never cook again
Fire
With Scarlet Sand? If yes this sounds a funny team. Thinking about, EC Xiao would work as well.
I like it more than what I did in my recent Xiao video lol
Shatter: Candace, or any freeze team with one Geo/claymore character. Aka, Eula buff.
I think shatter is intended to be a physical DPS reaction.
Team I'm eager to try in 5.2 :
- Old-school Sucrose Taser : XQ - Fischl - Beidou - Sucrose
- ShatterBloom : EM Candace - Dendro - Cryo (credit to Arcanic_Soul on genshin subreddit), yup the shield hit does blunt dmg thus shattering freeze ^^ so it rely on bloom & shatter dmg thus the EM requirement ^^
- Razor shenanigans (and not Zajeff's thundering fury)
Imma pray that they won't use this as a cheap excuse to make abyys into even more whale bait than it already is
Let's hope that cyno becomes stronger than kuki from there buffs.
Nice buffs for my freminet team, as well as my superconduct kokomi build
Also NaXingKu ft Eula/Freminet is actually GOAT in practice.
Like all the doomposting on eula and the “physical meta” as a whole
only to realize the way forward is not mono/single reaction focus but rather BAMMM THIS IS YOUR REACTION SOUPS TAKE THAT and like
(Already used Hyperbloom core NaXingKu Eula to comfortably clear the upper half of the last and this season of the Abyss.
Finnaly! my overload arle team (woithout chev) won't be the worst team I ever made!
imagine how the new buffs to the shatter reaction would affect Chongyun
One of my favorite teams to play is furina sigewinne fischl freminet. So now i should build freminet with em sands?
In situations against freezable enemies, it may make sense, depending on how big your freminets crit hits are (which c6 affects significantly). Most likely on a very invested Freminet Id guess no since its not as universal, but if you are running 4pc Songs (which gives a flat dmg buff to frem from Sige's healing), I think it may be more viable to build more EM since the flat dmg bonus can mitigate having lower attack.
So I dunno where the breakpoint is for it making sense building EM on him, but its certainly more of an option to consider than before
XD
Before 5.2 buff, I couldnt beat this Spiral abyss.
After with Fish Tazer + Rational I beat it first try XD
Cyno, emilie, thoma, flex team is gonna go hard with these changes
It's also fair to say, these changes will be highly beneficial to Imaginarium Theater
Genshin really releasing one of the strongest vape and hyperbloom characters right before the buffs XD
Overload and Electro Charged are both reactions being triggered by a full EM Kuki in Yoi Burgeon, therefore, this patch can be argued to be a Yoi Burgeon buff
17:20 you say that and in some teams that works but ideally the dendro aura never gets overtaken in hyperbloom
@@Solunerraso Nahida is getting powercrept. Sumeru characters are next.
this in mind... what do y'all think is the most viable/relevant arti set to farm to prep for 5.2?
CHONGYUN BUFF LETS GO
Kazuha can trigger shatter with his plunges. If it makes my Ganyu freeze team better, cool!
wrio is cryo and can trigger shatter with hip ca. so omg! wrio buff!!!
In hyperbloom if you use nahida say goodbye to electrocharged and superconduct :)))
Electrocharged will be rare yes (not impossible if hydro application is fast enough, like C6 Xingqiu can on a single target), but since dendro and cryo don't react both auras can coexist on an enemy so they can get quickened and superconducted at the same time.
9:33 i was hoping he'd open that chest
I aint come this early since i thought i was straight. What a time to refresh youtube
WHAT?!
bros a quickshot
oh
I LOVE THESE CHANGES YAYYYYYY
Hmm Electro charged might actually beat Vape now.
If 80% CR & 160% CD = average crit multiplier of 2.28.
2.28* 1.5(vape) = 3.42
Now compare this to 2.0x2 for electo-charged.
Is citlali going to shatter everything and use the shatter buff just because we broke her tools in the archon quest?
TAZER KOKOMI IS META VIABLE AGAIN LETS GOOOO
Yep, because neuvilette needs more buffs 😂
FREMINET SUPREMICY!
Dang these changes 😮.
11:34 pls in a future video could you open your map i don't know whre that place is in genshin
I am VERY interested in ec teams I think it might be better then hyper bloom ngl
They are pretty fun in general even right now!
At least already better than aggravate like yae miko fischl furina sayu is better than yae miko fischl nahida sucrose. Hyperbloom has kuki who consolidates healing and trigger for dmg so not sure.
