When hes was plunging it could have been a higher number if furina was in a hp sans he would have done more damage because furina buff scales with her hp
You don't need more Pyro application on National teams. Besides, literally any character can work in those teams. Thoma is FAR better as a Burgeon driver. He actually gets to do something there.
@@Agentepelucheat least 28k HP should be a good baseline since his shield strength depends on him being able to burst off cooldown ER first then as much HP as possible
As someone who actually LOVES and enjoys playing Thoma, THANK YOU!! my personal favourite is him with Zhongli to make fire breathing Zhongli. Yes I actually play Zhongli as a actual character too
Thoma is one of my favourite characters as burgeon is my favourite reaction in the game. I"m f2p and had great success playing him with dendro travler, furina, and yao yao. Then after getting Kinich, I replaced dendro traveler with him and have an AMAZING burgeon team. With dendro traveler, my Thoma build was mainly EM as the team needed help with damage. But with Kinich being such a strong character, I now play Thoma with a split HP and energy regen building using a favonius lance and 4 piece tenacity for extra team buffing. More recently I've also enjoyed playing him on Chevreusse overloaded team but still definitely prefer burgeon for him.
For those interested in burgeon, you onfield nahida or your hydro unit. Onfield thoma is not the way to go because if u have his contestations they won’t activate consistently. Also it’s better to put thoma on dragons bane than favonius still. If you can put other units on a fav weapon to battery thoma, or craft kitain if u have it.
All polearm characters except Xiao have that little animation after plunging. Instead of dash cancelling, you should do 1 normal attack right after you land - it'll be way faster. Also, Thoma's best use cases imo are in Clorinde/Chevreuse teams where he can replace Benny and hold Noblesse (Clorinde dashing all over the place makes circle impact a pain). Also he can hold Deepwood in Kinich teams and Instructors in Mualani teams. The tankiness of his shield will surprise you.
Once upon a time, I used a fun little burgeon team with candace infusion and thoma with bb yaoyao. Was a lot of fun as the whole team was HP scaling, 3/4 were polearm users, but the energy hunger was REAL.
Thoma was a character that I enjoyed from the story and wanted to have. I got him and Jean during one of Yae Miko's banners (forget which), and he's been a part of my main team ever since I got to Inazuma for the first time. He's honestly really good. I genuinely think he's better than Xiangling.
thoma main here- it warms my heart to see plunge dps thoma get some love, i also play him with c6 benny, furina and xianyun but what id change in your rotation is do benny e> xianyun e> furina e q> xianyun q> benny q> thoma skill and plunge, that way you get some vv shred and he does around 120k per plunge that way (at least for me) (also using bennet first makes you lose some fanfare stacks, not sure if you have higher furina cons or something) the previous bounties were so cool cause i could hit 1 mil with his plunge but then i replaced furina with shenhe for melt and plunge dmg bonus(her charged skill) still i hope this video gives plunge thoma more appriceation also this abyss is not that good for him- tho for example tripple kenki was possible (got them cleared in 1,5 min) oh also- whenever you plunge you can indeed quickly dash to quicken his next plunge, and i got his big dmg on 4pc crimson since i farmed it for like 2 years for him but when having furina marrechausse hunter is deffinetly bis
I've been saying that Thoma is being slept on since ages. His C6 is a great support for my Wriothesly and Clorinde teams. I think hes much more comfortable than Xiangling to play bc his application is NA coordinated and he gives a shield (even if its not the best). Hes a great comfort pick for me and even if I did recently cave and am now building Xiangling, as long as I can make use of his coordinated attacks I'll pick him over her 😅
For burgeon probably nahida, xq, kokomi (with clam set for more damage) and him, C4 + kitain(if you use kitain, use first ult and then skill so that kitain passive doesn't mess your energy) and around 190 er should be enough, probably less since nahida won't be doing much damage you can give her fav, xq can also use fav; onfield with nahida and if you feel she's received too much damage then burst heal with kokomi. Charlotte is a good replacement for kokomi, what you want is to get as little burning as possible (which is why you don't use baizhu), hydro, cryo and electro all help reduce burning "protecting the dendro aura" For DPS Thoma with all characters available I'd choose furina, yelan, Bennett and Thoma, don't bother too much with er, he's on-fielding, receiving Bennet's particles and at C4 his ult cost is only 65, furina and yelan can also use fav, elegy is also an option you can test and see if things work out, also his ult's damage is too low so focus on his normal attacks (no emblem), with furina Marechaussee is bis, if you already have his burst anyway you might as well use it, you can treat it as a small interruption resistance
0:09 Im not here for anything to do with thoma, couldn't care less, I'm here because your style of videos is really entertaining and I love your building videos especially. Keep up the great work, I think you are one of the hidden gems of UA-cam! Edit: FURINA SCALES WITH HP NOT ATK GET THAT ATK SANDS AWAY FROM ME AAAAAHHHHHH👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹
About the burgeon team, the issue the team had is that the dendro core generation was on the low side because of the burning you had going on sometimes. To fix this using Xingqiu would have helped a lot, and instead of baizhu maybe Charlotte could have helped, since she would have killed burning and helped create more dendro cores. Double hydro could have been a solution too. In the end the inazuma polearm is really the way to go and the 110 EM it gives would have helped sooo much...
5:16 “Did I plan this?” … Not even a second later: “I’m just gonna pretend I planned this. I’m so smart.” BIG BRAIN MOMENT. 🤣 When it cuts right to the statement, you know it was not planned.
Vain a little tip on burgeon comps have 2 Hydro applicator's and nahida to make more blooms or else you get burning(and l think only Emilie and kinich wound like that)
the only way for me to main this man properly was to physically build him… lol. he hits about 9-11k on a daily basis, but that was before natlan and fontaine newer builds
My man his teams damage mostly comes from him and xiangling. Xiangling needs to use her ult on bennetts circle also tartaglia needs to be in the circle. Kazuha needs to shred the hydro and/or pyro by swirling the elements
certified self-proclaimed thoma expert? knower? user? here... this is gonna be a bit nerdy & lengthy (just a quick heads up) There are 2 main ways of using Thoma nowadays, if you include "main DPS" thoma it will be 3: --- Burgeon Thoma * The first thing you should keep in mind is that in any transformative damage teams like hyperbloom, taser, soup, and this include burgeon, is that you should always level 90 the character who triggers the reaction. in which in this case Thoma. And most people knowledge stop at this point. however the pyro can also react with dendro, in which can trigger burning. This burning aura also acts like a pyro aura, in which we don't want, cause we want dendro to react with hydro, not hydro to react with pyro - so in this team you're wasting precious hydro application to trigger vaporize (this is not inherently a bad thing as some teams like mualani or neuv actually want this) but in this team its a DPS loss. Credits to the theory crafters in this game, they found a way to alleviate this issue - by putting an element that doesn't interfere with the dendro aura while consuming the burning/pyro aura. It's also important to note that fast hydro application is a must in this team (i.e. xingqiu , yelan's application is slower unless you have her C2, Kokomi is also slower) * By adding electro (Curry teams) - electro will "weaken" the pyro aura, enabling your hydro to react with dendro (creating more blooms) e.g. Nahida, Fischl, Thoma, Xingqiu (i have extensively used this team a lot, and its by far my favorite burgeon team) * By adding cryo (Oven teams) - by using the same concept as the "fridge" mechanic tldr you also create more blooms e.g. Nahida, Kaeya, Thoma, Xingqiu --- Support Thoma * where you just build him ER and a bit of crt rate if you're using fav lance. most popular teams that use thoma nowadays are * clorinde in chevreuse teams, clorinde easily gets knocked around and using thoma in chevreuse team is just comfy option and thoma C6 also buffs clorinde a bit. * wanderer, also wants some sort of interrupt resist as he can get easily knocked around again he's just a comfy option, not particularly 'highest DPS' * kinich & mualani (cause there's not a lot of off-field pyro applicators & thoma gives interruption resist in the form of frequently refreshing shield) --- DPS thoma * I'm not really a fan of using thoma this way as using literally any other polearm character will deal as much damage as him. Polearms for some reason you can't dash cancel the landing-animation of the plunge whereas all other weapon types you can dash-cancel it. But there's a way to still get faster plunges, that is to N0 or N1 cancel the animation. You can also do this N0 or N1 cancel on other weapon types but its generally slower compared to dash cancels, for polearms however its all they have so you're kinda forced to do it if you want faster plunges. Sorry for the wall of text, just sharing this knowledge to whoever is curious. Also no one is perfect, so i may have gotten some things wrong, or i didn't fully explain cause no one will probably read this anyway, but if you are thank you and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
