@Sorley Walker different areas of the US have different local restaurants. I live in the northeastern part of the US, we don't have a Whataburger up here. I did get to try it on my trip down to Texas tho. There were also many other restaurants I had never heard of 😂

No. To be fair -- the one he got would get complaints in Texas. Usually they're loaded with honey butter and the actual problem is it being messy. The one he got wasn't messy, but was dry/ skimping on the honey butter. As for it falling apart... I mean . . . he threw it on the table and stuff lol. Biscuits fall apart easily anyways. His would too if thrown around.
His is clearly better though, but that's expected.
Also - lets be clear - he bought four and cherry picked the “best” one ☝️

The last time I had a honey butter chicken biscuit was nearly 10 years ago now and I still regularly think of them. I'm not even from Texas, I just got them on trips a couple times and they stuck with me, I think they deserve all hype they get.

Just made this yesterday and it was phenomenal. The chicken was juicy generously topped with honey glaze.
The only thing is my biscuit didn't get the height I wanted. It was more of an English muffin but still good. Definitely make it at home. Beats any fast food restaurant!
If you don't live in the south its probably your flour, it's difficult to find good biscuit flour.

Fast food companies have to realize this guy is a chef, while the people they've hired to pay minimum wage to assemble pre-made food can't compete. Even when they make the food 'in-house' those people who are hired off the streets still aren't chefs.
This is really a "fast food vs chef made" series.

@@earthtominiryu Yes, as a cook. Not chef. Josh has said as much. Just like Babish isn't a chef, neither is Josh. That said, that isn't taking anything away from anyone. It's not like only chefs make great dishes.
That said, Josh should be a chef. He has creative ideas, and cooking is his passion. I hope he pursues it some day. But the only reason most people want to be a chef is to open their own restaurant. Maybe that isn't something Josh wants to do?

If Claire Saffitz admitted that she had no chance of replicating the texture of Krispy Kreme, I find it laughable that Josh even thought that a basic yeast doughnut recipe could win. Honestly, i feel like (also as a texan), he didnt go hard enough on it. Specifically on the biscuit. He said that it was falling apart, but honestly, even across different stores, the main thing is that the biscuit is crumbly and feels like you are biting into dust half the time. I feel like it may be intentional, becausd i always feel like getting a drink, but only when ordering this.
I come from the UK and chicken and biscuits isn't a thing but I tried your recipe and it turned out so yummy will definitely be making this again
