I feel like this proves that you can follow his recipes and create something that’s not exact but still absolutely delicious. I don’t think either of them are disappointed in how they came out so I have faith in us!

You know, I'm raising 4 kids alone...making food and cleaning is the most stressful part of all of it...and having a kid help me make dinner would be really nice. Maybe you should make dinner just because it would help....

Doesnt seem fair to whichever child decides to learn how to cook well. Children should be allowed to experience life with freedom, school is generally conforming and strict enough as it is they certainly don't need that constantly at home too.
You'll have your turn at relaxation when they've all moved out and they start to take care of you in return. Start pushing your problems on them and they're more likely to move away and disappear from your life.

My mom knows I'm the better cook but it took years. She didn't like seasonings and wanted all food super well done. Meat had to be completely dry, veggies completely mushy, no salt, she thought pepper was spicy. So I grew up eating shit food at home but delicious food at my grandparents house when I'd stay over, grandpa was from Texas and grew up on a farm learning to cook from his mom. He was her step dad growing up and she refused to eat his food...so she never knew how good it was or how good food could be. Full circle I cook his food now and she loves it. Irony.
I do love the videos with his mom, I regularly cook with my mother. It's always a fun time.

I cook for experimental fun, and there's nothing more satisfying than cooking meals that put a smile on your mother/fathers face and getting that "you did great kid". Definitely should have more episodes with Mama and others it's a nice change of pace
I do this for my mom a couple times a month when I visit.I show up cook her dinner and let her critique it while I do the dishes.she never says anything bad just adds info to get specific textures or flavors.
