Never tire of listening to T on a White Horse... Been well over 30 years now...
Probably the best bass player of the era, superb !
Many people who see this may not appreciate how much of a musician's musician Eberhard Weber is. This Btw cannot be labeled as Jazz. It goes beyond that, owning more to European Classical music than many might admit. Beautiful music.
I agree, 100%!
I wonder, why he is often labeled as Jazz?
For me, it is more classical music. Like you have mentioned, in your comment.
@@patrickr12342 I was thinking about this in the past few days, while listening to some Bootlegs of concerts played by his group “Colours” in the USA in the mid 70’s. I suspect it is because of two factors, the instrumentation, and the improvisation, where Jazz incorporates improvisation and by crude and simple definition, if it includes improvisation it must be jazz. There are elements of Jazz, listen to “An Evening with Vincent Van Ritz” where the bass and trumpet are very Jazzy, but I read somewhere that Eberhard Weber informed the players one time “you are not playing Jazz”.
Perhaps not enough pigeon holes?
It is jazz with classical music influence. Jazz is a worldwide music, a longways from it's early sound.
Jazz has evolved, influenced by music the world over.
T. on a White Horse is brillant as ever. my fav piece from Eberhard Weber.
Saw his quartet in a smallish club in NYC many years ago. Just magical.
What an heavenly sound.
I can only smile, when i hear it.
It is an astonishing, timeless recording.
Just blowin away, by its beauty!!!
Thanks, for uploadin.
Weber's bass playing is so distinct and wonderful!!
Unusual instrumental combination here. Makes a very pleasant change to not hear a drummer filling up the rhythmic space. Much leaner, less cluttered sound as a result. Many thanks for uploading this.
E. Weber eta lagunak: sentsibilitatea eta edertasuna, bere lan guztietan bezala!
Hey Eberhard, Danke für deine ALLZEIT großartige Musik
This is fabulous - and the arrangements and instrumentation is fantastic.
Super stoked to find this!
T on a White Horse and the Morning After album are among my absolute favorites... I love his bass singing.
The video has Tea one a White Horse. You are of course correct, with the title being T. on a White Horse. One of my favorite songs by Eberhard. BEAUTIFUL !!
@@dalewilliams8001 Sadly, the album for some reason is not available in UA-cam, just in snippets from concerts.
Wow! Great posting! What an amazing musician - have most of his stuff on vinyl! Beautiful compositions and a joy to see him in concert since I never had a chance. :'(
Brilliant concert! Thx for sharing this magic concert of the great Eberhard Weber feat. Rainer Brüningshaus on piano...
Quelle profondeur.
Ahh...Heaven sent!
Que buen concierto.
The best concert
Thank you
eargasm ..mysterious & wonderful
Beautiful!
thx for this fine upload
Round About Afternoon really reminds me of Bruford's Earthworks' All Heaven Broke Loose album, especially the horn section.
Music from the centre of the earth and the outer reaches of The Milky Way, all at the very same time.
this music!!
Masters
T on a White Horse is one of my most favorite pieces ever... Can't find the studio version on UA-cam, unfortunately.
Kate Bush brought me here to. So not a flugelhorn or tuba. Trumpet & baritone horn or euphonium at least at the beginning. Eberhard is such a bad-ass.
I'd like to hear Eberhard Weber playing a bass guitar. Does anyone know some recordings where I can hear it?
Zappa's King Kong at 24:47 ???
+Lucas Bojarski Hahaha holy shit that's great! I didn't think anyone else would ave gotten it
Brilliant!
David Bargeron's instrument is a euphonium, not a tuba, isn't it?
yes
bombardon
Audio is badly out of synch with the video. Great concert though.
Kate bush brought me here
The flugelhorn and the improvisations sound very amateurish to today's ears.
Today’s ears don’t know real music which is evidenced in the childish tunes that the modern “artists” call beats😂
