Nagyon nagy "biológus" ez az ember !!! Több lemezét ismerem, koncerten egyedül itt láttam eddig, de mindig beleborzongok, meg a hátamon ezrével futkosnak azok a bizonyos hangyák !!! Nagyon nagy köszönet !!! (Y)
I will always remember a JG concert in Paris in May 2000. Brueninghaus and Weber also there, and Marylin Mazur at the drums if I well remember... one of the best concert of my life. Jan is a modern music genius.
Tolle Musik machst Du.
... a good few years ago someone in the audience at a JG gig at the Queens Hall , Edinburgh shouted "improvise !" ... well I hope that person has watched this , and indeed listened to the live Dresden album. He is playing as well as ever here , and what a band !!! Truly beautiful and creative music making !!!
some of my favey favist musicians of all time - check 1975 release "Solstice" with Ralph Towner or "Belonging" with Kieth Jarrett . Jan Garbarek's on both as well as Eberhard Weber on "Solstice"---BEAUTIFUL STUFF!!!!!!!
bought a curved soprano because of this guy, and it made me the happiest ive ever felt playing anything. ill never touch a straight or tipped soprano again. thanks jan!
i have! love it! i picked up a tai shan curved off of ebay for 400 bucks. i love it. plays in tune very well and is extremely responsive. get one man, and then upgrade the mouthpiece. thats the key. id love to be able to drop 4k on a yani or a borgani, but im happy with the 400 taishan and the knowledge i wont die one day having never played and owned one. my .02 :)
So great to see Eberhard playing (get well soon, Mr Weber!). Weber has a new album coming out in Jan 2013 of recordings of his bass solos done during various tours with this same group over the years with some guest appearances by Garbarek and drummer Michael DiPasqua. Also, there's not enough Rainier Bruninghaus in the world. So great to see him at work since he's only done 3 albums of his own as a leader.
Oh yes, there's not enough Brüninghaus, I discovered his almost two decades ago 'Continuum' and is still one of my favourite albums. And in the Weber side, his work is onion-like, you can peel layers and still learn and enjoy more of his music.
Always liked JG since Belonging and Eberhard and his piano player, Brüninghaus, since The Colors of Chloe. But, 1) Why the reggae thing? 2) That haunting piano motif sounds like it was copped from Field Of Dreams or the Shawshank Redemption or some movie like that.
Track List: 1. Trollsyn 2. Storebror 3. Conversation 4. Twelve Moons 5. Rondo Amoroso 6. Chorus 7. He Comes From The North 8. Dansere 9. Brother Wind March 10. Bali 11. Once I Dreamt A Tree Upside Down 12. Quartet No. 1 13. Number One 14. New Bein' 15. Mission: To Be Where I Am

Amazing! I have many records from Garbarek, Weber and Katché, and am looking forward to buying more, including "I took up the runes" (in my opinion, one of the very best ECM records ---and there are a lot of fantastic ones to choose from!), but there seems to be some additional pieces of music here. Is there a list of the music they played in the concert ? I would like to buy a record of that.
Warme, intelligente Musik - danke, Jan!
Jan Garbarek on sax, Eberhard Weber on bass. Heaven!!
Was für grossartige Musiker !
I fucking love Eberhard Weber
This one of the most enjoyable concerts I have ever watched. Brilliant, thank you.
a tip : you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Lorenzo Jabari Definitely, been using Flixzone for months myself :D
DIESE MUSIK LIEBE ICH SEHR .....weltNIVEAU .... grosses ist das.
Piękne. Jestem pod wrażeniem saksofonu. Sam jestem na dosyć dobrym poziomie grania. Garbarek jest dla mnie wzorem. Geniusz jazzu.
An underappreciated legend in the US. Wonderful concert.
Nagyon nagy "biológus" ez az ember !!! Több lemezét ismerem, koncerten egyedül itt láttam eddig, de mindig beleborzongok, meg a hátamon ezrével futkosnak azok a bizonyos hangyák !!! Nagyon nagy köszönet !!! (Y)
This is basically I took up the Runes Live ;)
Just LOVE it ;)
Thank you Dean De Benedictis for leading me here. Wonderful stuff.
great Jan Garbarek. Life is much better.
I will always remember a JG concert in Paris in May 2000. Brueninghaus and Weber also there, and Marylin Mazur at the drums if I well remember... one of the best concert of my life. Jan is a modern music genius.
I've seen them on several occasions. Eberhard Weber is my hero since 1978 or so. Too bad he cannot play anymore because of his stroke
Still have the Weber albums from that era which I cherish; did not know he had a stroke; hope his ears are still healthy
This is a mind blowing performance! To Jan Garberek and team Congratulations!!!
❤ And greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
