You look good Chris in Malaysian national team soccer jersey. We just gave South Korean national soccer team a scare a few days ago at Asian Cup championship when we drew them 3-3. Proud of our national team!
Every state in Malaysia has their own unique, delicious food, like Kelantan with Nasi Kerabu (blue rice), Terengganu with Nasi Dagang (traders rice), Laksa Sarawak (breakfast of the gods by anthony bourdin). You try it, and you gonna fall in love more with Malaysia.
I saw Brad's video earlier and thank you for highlighting this area. Most of the time, only Jalan Alor gets the coverage by international travellers. 33:42 That's the right way of enjoying Cendol. Many outsiders wrongly drinking it directly without mixing it properly and ended up not enjoying it with the right taste. 42:55 Cempedak is Jackfruit. Madu is translated as "Honey" so Cempedak Madu is another variation of jackfruit with better taste. Goreng means "Fried". It takes about 3 minutes to fry it in a really hot cooking oil. One of travelling tips that I can share for street food tour is to buy a small water bottle and wash your hand (or fingers) first before touching the food for hygiene purpose. Another tip is to have a paper napkin / tissue to hold food items especially the hot one like cempedak goreng so that you don't have to finish it one off (like Brad did) instead enjoying bit by bit.
nice video promoting local street food . more videos like in this in near future . looks tasty and delicious hope to visit there someday and try your country street food .
This is a place where all tourists should go to taste real local malaysian food. Incredibly tasty and very cheap. Still I don't understand, why many tourists still go to Jalan Alor where everything is ridiculously overpriced and run by foreigners.
The sea coconut is air kelapa laut, not er kelapa lut. The donut is bomboloni. The man was not figuring out the ingredients for you. He was calculating how much you had to pay. I've heard of the fried cempedak. It is not jackfruit. Goreng is fried. The fried cempedak is something popular
Cendol is a SEA dessert which can be traced back to 12 century. In phillipine it calls halo halo, brunei, malaysia, singapore n indonesia called cendol, thailand - lot chong, vietnam - banh lot, myanmar - mont let song. The process is the same ie made from rice flour - extracted pandan leave (the green jelly) and mixed with coconut milk and palm or brown sugar (depends on the each country) and the rest of the mixtures are according to each country taste bud😊 Enjoy your stay here.
Goreng means fried Nasi goreng.. fried rice Pisang goreng - fried banana So excited to watch yr video n very pleased to know that u've enjoy yourself so much in Malaysia. Welcome back to Malaysia Chris n welcome to Brad also.

Malaysian will know where the market is if you mention the street name where the night market is. For instance the night market you just went to is call "PASAR MALAM JALAN TAR" = TAR STREET NIGHT MARKET.. and GORENG means " fried"
Cendol is Malay cuisine. The green stuff is made of rice flour or green pea flour with coconut milk not milk.It is healthy product added with coconut sugar or Nipah sugar(in Brunei) and pandan leaf or suji leaf.If it isnot brown it is added with white sugar. The jelly then will be added nto ABC drink(Air Batu Csmpur) and also with durian.

You made me want to go to Jalan Tar Pasar Malam again.. Im local n usually i avoid going around that area on Saturday cz it usually jam-packed with people.. But seeing you enjoy all the food made me want to go there again.. haha

I am loving all of your content Chris! Makes me want to explore KL again. Just as an fyi, a cultural norm for Malays (in Malaysia and Singapore) is that you give and receive things with your right hand or both hands instead of just left hand. The left hand is considered “unclean” as that’s the hand you use to clean yourself. Looking forward to more videos from you! 🙂
Cendol is a drink made with coconut milk , brown sugar n the green like jelly is made from a paste of glutinous rice n made in noodle like, the green colouring comed from the juice of pandan leaves which gives the unique fragance of cendol. This cools the body on a hot day. Enjoy it boys , greetings fm Penang island.

I am salivating just watching you guys eating...fyi the one that looks like Empanada is called Karipap (Curry Puff)...and the green jelly in the Chendol is made from flour with colouring derived from pandan leaves...also, it is not Jackfruit it is called Cempedak (family of Jackfruit)... goreng means "fry" so Pisang Goreng is Fried Banana or Nasi Goreng is Fried Rice....
Chendol is made of rice flour.... The green color is from pandan leaf....kinda natural food coloring....and also used as natural food fragrance ....widely use in south east asia for deserts....
