I love the new looks of the new MT09 SP. The previous gen MT09 SP was worth the $1500 price bump over the base MT09 given the suspension upgrade alone. So I've no doubt that the new MT09 SP is worth the price bump yet again.
$1800 more now. If I get the new MT-09 it will be the SP but I don't know if I should get the all New HYpermotard 698 Mono instead. Tough decision.
@@CycleCruza Honestly the SP variant is absolutely worth the price bump. As with the last Gen if you were to price out all the upgrades you got with the SP variant, then try to build a base model MT09 to match it's SP version you'd have spent more to build up the base model than just buying the SP variant straight away. I think it's actually brilliant price strategy as some will choose the base MT09 as it is still a great bike, yet some will definitely buy the SP model as when you do the math it's a steal over buying the base model. Now the new 2024 MT09 SP maybe different, but I doubt it. Yes it's a lil more expensive but that's the way bike prices are going. Nevertheless it still seems like a bargain for the price gap between base and SP models. As for the new Hypermotard I'd say pass on the 1st and maybe even the 2nd gen variants until Ducati have worked out any gremlins as it's undoubtedly will have em being a high revving single and Ducati bikes notorious for running hot. I'm sure Ducati have found some reliability problems and sorted em out, but never hurts to be a lil hesitant when it comes to a brand new bike from Ducati.

I have those brakes on my `24 Street Triple RS, and they are awesome and worth it in my view. Would be hard to go back to lesser brakes.

I think I would buy the Sp because by the time you upgrade the Stock MT 09 your into it about the same price 😊

I personally would get the base model because it now has cruise control and an actual key
The only bike I eve rhad with a key fob keyless start in the Ducati XDiavel S, I did not have any issues with it. If you ever have any issues with the key fob I believe you can enter a code to start the bike. What's cool about this new system is that there is keyless gas cap with the fob on your pocket.
@@CycleCruza I have problems with the key fob on my Multistrada fairly often. Entering a key code when you know you have they key in your pocket is more annoying than you think.
Glad Yamaha finally listened and but some proper brakes on this model.
I'm loving the sp version. I'm pretty cheap too. But the liquid metal raven does look nice.

The new front end with an R1 tail would look amazing. Instead they put a boring Honda Grom style tail light on the rear

@@CycleCruza Even if they are the most stunning bikes around, I'd never buy a Ducati... Jap big 4 only for me... reliability, parts availability/price plus you can generally work on them yourself... but if you don't mind these downsides and if you have the dollar... fill your boots.

How about that new ninja 500? Beginners have so many options nowadays it’s awesome. When I started they only had the ninja 300. I love the new look of the MT09 though. Still looks like there’s no R9 sadly…
There are so many awesome bikes for 2024 it is hard to keep up. The New 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 looks cool too. 2024 is going to be a 🔥year for new motorcycles. I love them all so far.

EICMA is taking place in Italy this week. Some are saying that the new R9 will be reviled there. We'll see.
Yamaha really should have put Ohlins forks on it and charged whatever extra it cost. And steel braided brake lines.
$1800 more for gold anodizing and a coating, and rubber hoses...ehhh. It looks great, and the Ohlins shock is great, and I'm sure the Stylema calipers are top notch, but ehhh. So close but they missed it by that much.
When are they going to be available at the dealerships in USA?? Yamaha has been horrible with their inventory

@@MrWolf2212 No cruise control and I liked the colors on the SP way more. Also I found out I don’t really like going over 100mph on an naked bike and for the back roads I take I found out all that extra power was useless for me unless I wanted to hit the highways. Ended up missing my MT-07 but I ended up getting an GSX8S to replace it. :)
Love the tech the MT09 has though and the engine is amazing! So for the price it is possible one of the best bikes you can buy but I believe the SP is totally worth the extra money.

I called and the dealer didn't even know. lol I'm in a dilemma, 2024 Hypermotard 689 Mono or 2024 MT-09 SP. I've already owned a MT-09 even tho the new SP is way better. There will probably even more sick new 2024 bikes. Maybe I should wait and see what else is coming out.

I wish that manufacturers would stop with the keyless ignition. I see the benefits of keyless with a car, but see absolutely none for a motorcycle. All I see is another annoying battery to change, and the chance that it could get lost or destroyed, which sets you back ~$400.
I thought so too and I ended up with a bike that's keyless and it's nice. The key is in your pocket and there is nothing to worry about.
You change the cheap battery once a year and you're good to go.
You mayn change your view once you either lose or ruin the FOB by washing i. I've experienced the $450 bill. There's also the not so far fetched risk of thieves hacking the FOB and stealing your bike.@@EEEBA1
You’re big on safety Cruza. Better brakes fits your MO. If you get nothing else extra spring for the better brakes.

Merry Christmas 🙂 I hope the connection to phone can be switched off... there are so many cheap quick hacking devices out there now, the last thing I need is someone accessing my bike via my phone. Not many changes apart from looks and front brake, I will not bother with the SP as a lot of owners who rode the base model said there is very little difference on the street, suspension only shows up on the track. But as the new mt09 is very similar to the 2023 sp model... if the suspension is very different... then the discounted 23 sp will be a better buy than the 24 mt09
Suspension is really noticable! My wife got a non sp and i have an sp, and with sportive riding it feels like a different bike!
get one of these then hopefully in a couple years or so the MT10 will get a good remodel too!

A first year Ducati tho.....what good is getting the new bike if it is in the shop for a long time and can't do any content on it. It could be a 17k paperweight. I can only make so many videos being upset with Ducati. 😂 The current Hypermotard 950 SP is problematic and it has been out for a long time so imagine the problems with a brand new Hypermotard 698. 😔

Does only the SP version have the quick shifter. If I was to buy one , I would purchase the MT-09 Tracer..
Quick shifter is standard on base
If you should opt for the Tracer 9 GT (instead of the 2024 MT09/SP), it then makes sense to order the 9 GT+ (plus) with a number of advanced goodies and that advanced and large TFT screen ☺
@@SirMountainpass I don't even care for all the Electronic Crap .. I bought a 2016 FZ-07 with out ABS it was a $400.00 Option that year.. Never had one problem with ABS as my bike does not have it .. I may add a Quick shifter from Dyno Jet However..
The Problem with my FZ-07 as I have spent a fortune adding Side cases .. top case luggage rack .. tank bag, windscreen , crash bars LED auxiliary lights GPS ect.. Really take a hit adding all that to another new bike .

I have my eye on an E-85 Flex Fuel controller for my air cooled Buell too .. up to 10% more power and runs cooler on E-85 .
@@mikeskidmore6754 Well, the choice is yours... One question to ask is always how long you intend to keep the bike. If you keep it for at least 5 years, then the top version is likely to bring you more riding joy (for a long period of time - for me, a premium suspension is key) since it has some useful goodies that makes long touring trips easier. Or the other way round: Buy the base model and upgrade as you did over the years with the FZ-07. However, if you are in the habit of changing the bike every 2 years or so, I then would keep everything stock.
@@SirMountainpass I have a 1971 Yamaha R-5 a 1978 YZ-100-E that I bought new. a 1983 Honda XR-350 , an XR-100 maybe 1991 , a 1977 Honda CR-125 that I put a 1971 Honda SL-125 engine in bored and stroked to 160 CC's ported hear hot cam 24 mm carb.. a 1984 RZ-350 a 1998 YZ-400-F the 2016 FZ-07 and a 2008 Buell Ulyesses so I guess I keep bikes for a few years.

The last model with the cyclops eyes is my dream bike. I just don't know about this one cuz it sounds so complicated with all that tech. I think in couple of years when I"m able to get my dream bike I"m just going to get the last model. Also with the price hike, that's riduclas! Right meow there's an 2022 MT09 at my local dealership that spiked the price up to $12k out the door. So, with the new one I"m thinking the price isn't worth it. Right meow I can only enjoy my new to me 2013 cb500f. I love riding and it keeps me from going insane being without a bike ro ride. I'm also interest in the 2024 cb750 hornet. That's seems to be affordable to get for me. I'm just wondering when is it coming to the states since it's already being reviewed in Europe? I may end up getting it better.
That is one reaosn I like the MT-07 void of all the tech. However, you can trust the Japanese bikes have the most reliable tech in the industry. This MT-09 just keeps getting better. The Honda Hornet is a really nice bike, great bottom end grunt. The Hornet will be here in the U.S. for 2024.

Having test ridden a standard 2023 MT10 and a 2023 MT09SP, I’d pop for the 09 every time.
It feels so much more nimble and doesn’t suffer from the appalling snatchy throttle of the 10.
I far prefer the more refined triple motor of the 09, and that’s coming from someone who’s owned
an R1M a few years ago.

Great Engine, but still Ugly, and just played out. The Bike has no soul, and no desire to even look back at it when you park it. It will disappear on Bike Nights, and no one will give it a second look, just simply Boring. 😴😴
