I was working on some off meta builds as well and i have some points and ideas if you could test or address them: Different setup using andariel, fists of fate (if you are lucky to get good roll or GA), starless sky and 1H+focus. Remember DR has diminishing returns, tyrael (with all 3 MW on DR) and shako are does not result in 66%, but 52%. This, when conjuration DR on pants comes into account, gets even worse. Fists of fate fix lucky hit and are better source of crowd control than anything else. Creeping death on amulet gives 60% multiplicative on bosses, opposed to 80% on staff true, but starless sky adds another 50%, which equalizes weaker creeping death and engulfing. It also solves mana issues. The extra lucky hit from fists also opens option to run firewalls as enchantments. Second option incorporating conflagration aspect and casting incinerate on bosses, which gives another global burning multiplier, while also nerfing boss dmg by 30%, adding another source of burn on its own and procs more lucky hits. Andariel, tyrael, fists of fate, concentration pants, concussive strikes boots, creeping death amulet, tal rasha, extra hydra ring with chance to cause vulnerable on lucky hit (enabled by fists and spam of incinerate + automatic firewalls), engulfing wand, conflagration focus possibly with mana on lucky hit if needed (since this setup doesnt have spot for starless sky). Please test, or at least tell me what you think.
Hey man, Thanks for checking out the video and all the useful insights! So I did test the andariels but it really doesn't activate very often, however with a goated fists of fate maybe it would be a bit more worth it. That's a big maybe though, still only have 6% lucky hit chance at best really. Starless is absolutely an option for the build but I say on the tal rashas as it scales higher on the multiplier and since I was going for a pure burning build the non physical damage is worth more to me than the core skills and crit chance. Mana just isn't an issue anyway to be honest. In regards to the reduced returns on DR, you're correct but it would make you less tanky. Thje attack speed being solved could be nice though for sure. There is also the question of not having all the extra skill points for the harlequins so all defensive skills will be weaker / higher cool downs, less hydra damage which scales with hydra ranks and so forth, so it's a trade off I suppose. The starless instead of engulfing is an option for sure, however intelligence is a BIG part of the damage scaling on the build since it scales the skill damage directly so you'd lose that. I think your ideas are all good though, it's just a different way of building a hydra build, it would probably work just fine, in fact better than fine probably! I'm onto new builds now, got a new guide out for a new build tomorrow hopefully, and then on to the next!
@@imortilizeofficial i just wanted to give you a headsup; i did some testing on my own, trying out all different combinations, with my 2nd sorc who was lvl 84 at the time of testing, with unleveled glyphs, half gear not masterworked and no gems (all testing was 1h+focus as i didnt find good staff for this): andy + starless sky proved to be vastly superior, in comparison to shako and legendary ring, i did over 50% more tick damage and boss dummies dropped twice as fast. My setup does not utilize barrier at all, so the life on hit from andy more than made up for loss of DR from shako. If i wasnt oneshotted, i didnt die at all. The best possible combination (and ive spent hours on this) was: andy, tyrael (i have triple MW DR), serpentine gloves, concentration pants (armor roll + skulls cap on armor without shako), concussive strikes boots, engulfing dagger (would prefer wand, but i bricked it), shredding focus, creeping death amulet (no luck on conjuration mastery, got chance to vulnerable instead), tal rasha and starless sky. After extensive testing and googling, firewall enchantment is bugged and hydras do not proc it at all, with or without burn skill or firebolt enchant. Incinerate with conflagration would make nice addition instead of shredding, but is too clunky to use in rotation. I had many items with GA lucky chance, so i used those, as well as tempering items to give hydras extra lucky chance (once i get good fists of fate, will replace gloves and get rid of shredding aspect), since the chance to proc various crowd control effects is too low for hydras and only damage when boss is staggered matters. I use frost bolt enchantment and firewall enchantment. Even thou hydras do not proc it, my firewall im spamming super fast (thanks to andy and starless sky) does. Edit: with this setup and really underwhelming character, my dots on boss dummy were ticking for 30 million
hey, that sounds really interesting and thank you for the insights. It's always great to see other peoples ideas. I would be very interested to know what you dot ticks can cap out at if everything came together properly. If you find that out can you let me know? Thank you again! =]
@@imortilizeofficial Hello, I got endgame update if you are interested, even if you moved on to poisonbolt sorc. Current char status: lvl 100, glyphs at lvl 15, 100% attack speed, 160% lucky hit (174,5% for hydras), over 1000% burning dmg. Unless oneshotted, immortal due to life on hit from andy and 13-headed hydras. Capability: NM dungeons are speedran by mouse only, move, hydra, firewall on boss, Bosses get vaporized in seconds. Helltide is even more comfortable than minion necro. Torment bosses die nearly as fast as spear sorc. Lilith down on first try, 2nd phase crowd controled and nuked so fast she didnt even spawn blisters with ghosts. Hordes are not so good due to lack of "big boom aoe" but i have spear sorc for that. Was able to get dot ticks on boss dummy to 400 mil - yes yes its not the billions andy rogues are doing, but we are talking about hydra firewall build here. Skills: ice blades to apply cold dmg and some CDR, mystical ice armor for more boss dmg, teleport, fireshield, firewalls, hydra. I could slot in glinting firebolt, but no points for it without shako and i found it too clunky to use, better to spam firewalls. Enchantments: Frostbolt and frost nova (specced to vulnerable) - with so much lucky hit hydras are actually doing it all the time, activating the biggest dmg bonus, vulnerable and crowd control. Gear: andy, tyrael, fists of fate, concentration legendary pants with armor, concussive strikes boots, creeping death amulet with inner flames, starless sky, tal rasha, engulfing dagger, serpentine focus. Glyphs: Elementalist, tactician, conjurer, exploit, torch, unleash, control. I got rid of reinforced because im barely ever in barrier.
@@Rencol666 hey man, That’s awesome! Any chance you can throw together a planner for this? Sounds amazing. Would love to share it for you and shout you out for an awesome creation. Thank you for the update! ☺️
Hey, So I personally prefer the +3 evade boots and also this isn’t representative of my actual build. I would normally have the Tyrael’s Might on which provides plenty of movement speed. The reason I wanted to show it being done without that is because I had a number of people specifically ask about it in the original build guide, I hope that makes sense and thank you for checking out the video!
@@imortilizeofficial I know, I’m saying for this fight without Tyraels get the plus movement speed as it makes it simple… you can’t get hit by them cause you super fast for a couple seconds enough to get ahead of them and then hit evade again and your basically the Flash lol.. it makes it worry free for that part for using no mythics basically or if movement speed is low
You are correct about the movement speed and I think I mention in the video that it would be easier with any form of extra move speed so this matches up with what you're saying. For the purposes of this videoI took the easiest route gear wise to get the video capture for this update video as I didn't have a lot of time. Thank you for the insights though!
@@Mocciajr this does scale the damage and I have some incorporated on my boards already. It will be difficult to get much else without sacrificing a glyph which will always be better than additive damage.
@@imortilizeofficialif I understand correctly the burning rate is directly tired to any modifier to base damage Meaning if I remember the modifier correctly it says 100% of hydras damage So the more points into hydra the more base damage scales via burning over time Then factor in let’s say *damage overtime* buffs Or Fire damage overtime The question I have is is it worth it having a roll or two into %damage into item power
Hey @Tcorellis-j6d, You are correct, this is how it works after all. I was mistaken at first and corrected in the second video regarding the burning damage. When you say a roll of two into % damage into item power, what exactly so you mean sorry? I want to make sure I'm clear before leaving an answer.
Hey, Thanks for checking out the video. So theoretically it is possible, but I didn't have replica gear to test this across the board. The issue is the burning instinct node scales the burning damage modifier stat so there is equally a possibility that there will be a middle ground which will be even better. I imagine going full Hydra damage will be just fine though, and if you wanted to incorporate hit damage in the build, that would absolutely be the best option. Fire Damage Over Time also works just fine though as demonstrated. I hope this helps.
Hello, I have been putting together this hydra build and do not have the Uber uniques that you mention here yet. Instead , for the time being I had other unique items that allowed me to use once I reached level 35. These are Ring of Starless, Doombringer wep and Melted heart of Selig and Tal rasha ring. It gives me tons of movement speed and other buff. Your thoughts on these additions ?. Am currently a level 76 hydra build.with 20k attack power, 18K health, max armor.
Hey, Thanks for checking out the video. So There is a build planner in the description which has a 'starter variant' in it which is designed to help people along the way before they have the mythics. The Starless would be ok as a stand in and the others are ok items, but they will probably not be better than the counter parts in the build planner provided. The Tal Rasha is good for this build. I hope this helps.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I replaced Heart of Selig with Ancestral amy with + 3 conjuration mastery without the other two stats you mention on non uber variant. Also my Helm only rolled + 3 to conjurations . Am using Tal and Starless rings for now. I have + 2 to hydra heads on my off hand. Will change doombringer wep for Ancestral till I get a good two hand wep. I hope to add two more hydra heads on my wep if it is possible lol. No master work on gear yet till I get the mats for it.
Hey, This all sounds good and like you're heading in the right direction. The more hydra heads the better for this build but I understand masterworking can be expensive for some! It took me some time to gather the items for this build, so I wish you luck on your search for them!
Hey man, Sorry for the late response and thank you for checking out the video. Make sure to check out the V1 of the build too for more detail which works for even if updated version. You really only need the extra hydra heads on the staff and early on serpentine is nice as well. Other than that, the build really went to the next level with the mythics but was entirely viable until the end game without it. Hope this helps!
Hey mate, Thanks for the kind words and checking out the video. So I tested the X'fals and with such a low base lucky hit chance it doesn't really seem to activate much at all or ever. If you equip the fire bolts enchant it then activates a bit more often but the dot ticks only tick twice a second so again it doesn't activate that often sadly. Maybe with a very good Fist of Fate it might, but then you start having to sacrifice stats elsewhere. Hope that helps!
Hey mate, I haven't tried anything meteor based yet but it is on my list of things to potentially try at some point! Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
I got all the things you got from the previous video I'm surprised how tanky I am and I have +8 heads I'm so happy with the results!!! But you said this chest is more damage than Tyrials Might?
Hey, Glad you’re enjoying it. In terms of raw damage yes the Raiment of the Infinite gives more damage because of the Glass cannon ranks + intelligence. You will however be sacrificing a lot pf defense and movment speed by replacing the Tyrael’s Might so I would personally stick with that unless you are deliberately trying to nuke down a boss.

Hey, Thanks for checking the video out. It's from the + hydra heads temper and then masterworking it yes. You can get up to +6 on each 1h slot or +12 on a 2h slot. I hope this helps!
@@leocosta6485 hey man, So in the description is a link to the first build guide for this build. This was just an updated video with some improvements. That original video shows the build against uber lilith and all the tormented bosses, hopefully you enjoy it! 😌
Hey man, so on this version I was able to comfortably finish a tier 7 with my gear and tier 8 was a grind but doable. To be honest this build is just not that good at hordes right now, but it looks like it will get a huge buff in V2.0 so I'm excited to give that a go! If you want a better horde build then my other build the 'Poison Bolts' build is MUCH better at hordes in general. I hope you're enjoying the build though!
Hey man, So the Winterglass approach certainly works in Season 5 as well, I just didn't go that way myself. I did manage to do a tier 7/8 on my build but it was a bit slow due to the lack of real AOE damage.
Hey, I didn't include pits because the video was getting quite long. The highest pit I tested was a 120 and I finished that comfortably in about 6 minutes or so. I imagine this build could go to the 130 mark if build properly, maybe higher but I havne't tested. It's pretty good, but not lightning spear. I hope this helps.
@@imortilizeofficial ohhhh ok thanks, I have INT,VUL DAMAGE AND MAX LIFE but the max life has been rolled already on that staff that has +10 heads temper, should I roll off max life for damage over time ?
Hey, I would roll the vulnerable damage for damage over time to keep survivability for the time being, but it's all your preference really on whether you nee damage or defense.
Hey, Thanks for checking out the video and yes I agree that they are too easy to get so I hope they change that for the reasons you mention. 150 hours into season 5 here, and still haven't seen one. So tempted to make something specifically for Tormented boss farming. Getting one or two, and then level something to farm Infernal Hordes.... Can't break the wall with the builds I've been playing. You need the Mythics to farm T7 hordes, but can't farm the things to get them because build isn't strong enough to do Tormented bosses :L
@LordDivine1 if you check the planner in the description there is a starter variant which is strong enough to kill the tormented bosses. I hope this helps!
Hey, Thanks for checking out the video and hope you enjoyed it. It's true that it can be achieved quickly, but not everyone has as much as time as others to work towards this at that speed so I have been trying my best to cater towards both audiences where possible to be as inclusive as I can with this build. I hope that makes sense :)
It's also RNG based and whatever build you started out with... People with time demanding jobs etc. just can't devote an entire week 4-6 hours a day of grinding. And even then, they don't play in a pedal to the metal super grindy efficient way. Hence the casual approach... They can't base the game around streamers who literally play the game 12+ hours a day. Easy is an extremely relative term in ARPG's.

@@Rencol666 hey man,
That’s awesome! Any chance you can throw together a planner for this? Sounds amazing. Would love to share it for you and shout you out for an awesome creation.
Thank you for the update! ☺️
Just get boots that give you “evade gives you 125% movement “ makes this easy at the end
Hey,
So I personally prefer the +3 evade boots and also this isn’t representative of my actual build.
Thank you for the insights though!
also have you tested stacking conjuration dmg from the paragon board/glyphs since determining hydra dmg is good?
@@Mocciajr this does scale the damage and I have some incorporated on my boards already. It will be difficult to get much else without sacrificing a glyph which will always be better than additive damage.
ya the % dmg goes up with ranks which is the base damage of the skill before any other modifier such as, increase fire damage or burn damage etc.
It would seem this is the case yes!
@@imortilizeofficialif I understand correctly the burning rate is directly tired to any modifier to base damage
Meaning if I remember the modifier correctly it says 100% of hydras damage
So the more points into hydra the more base damage scales via burning over time
Then factor in let’s say *damage overtime* buffs
Or
Fire damage overtime
The question I have is is it worth it having a roll or two into %damage into item power
Hey @Tcorellis-j6d,
You are correct, this is how it works after all. I was mistaken at first and corrected in the second video regarding the burning damage.
When you say a roll of two into % damage into item power, what exactly so you mean sorry? I want to make sure I'm clear before leaving an answer.
@@imortilizeofficial basically I half ass asking if the base damage that effect item power also effects damage over time vs raw damage
so if you changed one ring with hydra damage and the damage is better, so if i put hydra damage on all items it goes even higher right?
Hey,
Thanks for checking out the video.
Hey,
Thanks for checking out the video.
Hey,
This all sounds good and like you're heading in the right direction. The more hydra heads the better for this build but I understand masterworking can be expensive for some!
It took me some time to gather the items for this build, so I wish you luck on your search for them!
Do I need specific items to go in to this build? just picking the game back up since weekend of launch
Hey man,
Sorry for the late response and thank you for checking out the video. Make sure to check out the V1 of the build too for more detail which works for even if updated version.
You really only need the extra hydra heads on the staff and early on serpentine is nice as well. Other than that, the build really went to the next level with the mythics but was entirely viable until the end game without it.
Hope this helps!
thanks for your work. maybe u know if a 12 headed hydra proc xfal easier then only 5 headed? so i mean more chance to proc ?
Hey mate,
Thanks for the kind words and checking out the video.
Hope that helps!
hey man, have you tried to make meteor work again? i've been testing it and is super underwealming :(
i am trying to make it work without burn being involved, maybe direct hit its not enought tho
Hey mate,
I haven't tried anything meteor based yet but it is on my list of things to potentially try at some point!
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
I got all the things you got from the previous video I'm surprised how tanky I am and I have +8 heads I'm so happy with the results!!! But you said this chest is more damage than Tyrials Might?
Hey,
Glad you’re enjoying it.
I jumped up 4k attack power just adding the chest jeez lol
@@KitaskeDarkAngel yep that’s what the Raiment is designed for!
@imortilizeofficial I'm loving this build!!! Do you have a link to the paragon you built? I know it's on your last video but I mean a site.
Hey,
Here is the link you are looking for which is part of the build linked in the description, hope this helps!

Can hydra crit? I was curious about an all hit damage version of the build and am theory crafting things.
Hey,
Thank you for checking out the video and the great question.
Hydras can absolutely critical on their hit damage, but can not on their burning damage. A full hit damage version of the build would absolutely be viable it just isn't what I aimed for here. Let me know if you try it and how you get on! =]
How do you get so many hydra heads? Is it just from the masterworking? I'm only lvl 80 so I havent got to invest into that a lot yet
Hey,
Thanks for checking the video out.
It's from the + hydra heads temper and then masterworking it yes. You can get up to +6 on each 1h slot or +12 on a 2h slot.
I hope this helps!
@@imortilizeofficial Interesting I thought I would go up by like 1 since the masterwork is only a 25% increase per lvl
Yer, it goes up +2 on 2h staff per crit, and +2 on a 2h staff around masterwork 11 or so.
fist of fate instead, in order to get scaling of creeping death x8?
Yes this is certainly an option. I guess it would require a good fists of fate though!
I want see u do torment bosses and how fast it could kill them
@@leocosta6485 hey man,
So in the description is a link to the first build guide for this build. This was just an updated video with some improvements. That original video shows the build against uber lilith and all the tormented bosses, hopefully you enjoy it! 😌
@@imortilizeofficial thank you, next season I will think about to make a hydra sorc for a change. I play HC so I have to be able to kill torment fast
@@leocosta6485 Nice, hydra seemed to work pretty well when I tested it and the new mecenary skills, if true, should help elevate it further as well!
Hi , How high in the Hordes it can go ( this version or the first one ) ? Because I can't seem to get higher than 5 , at 6 I fail. Thanks
Hey man,
so on this version I was able to comfortably finish a tier 7 with my gear and tier 8 was a grind but doable.
@@imortilizeofficial I appreciate the reply, thanks again. But I'm more looking into the Hydras this season and really like your videos , keep it up.
Hey man,
So the Winterglass approach certainly works in Season 5 as well, I just didn't go that way myself. I did manage to do a tier 7/8 on my build but it was a bit slow due to the lack of real AOE damage.
can this build handle some pits? if yes, what's the highest level can reach?
Hey,
I didn't include pits because the video was getting quite long. The highest pit I tested was a 120 and I finished that comfortably in about 6 minutes or so. I imagine this build could go to the 130 mark if build properly, maybe higher but I havne't tested. It's pretty good, but not lightning spear.
I hope this helps.
I got 2 Master work on Hydra heads and its at +8 (in yellow writing) not +10 how do i get +10 at yellow?
Hey man,
It should go to +10 at masterwork rank 10 or 11 naturally from the small bumps.
Hope this helps!
@@imortilizeofficial ohhhh ok thanks, I have INT,VUL DAMAGE AND MAX LIFE but the max life has been rolled already on that staff that has +10 heads temper, should I roll off max life for damage over time ?
Hey,
I would roll the vulnerable damage for damage over time to keep survivability for the time being, but it's all your preference really on whether you nee damage or defense.
Getting mythics this season is far easier than uniques, literally everyone has them
Hey,
Thanks for checking out the video and yes I agree that they are too easy to get so I hope they change that for the reasons you mention.
However I did have a number of people specifically ask about the non Tyrael’s Lilith kill which is why I went to the effort to demonstrate on this build it could be done, I hope that makes sense!
Thanks again for the comment though and hope you enjoyed the rest or the video 😌
@@LordDivine1yep, unless you group you likely will never see one. Crap design seeing this is supposedly a SP game first.
WHY they struggle to get any Mythic with easy game play can be max 4 day to get one!!
Hey,
Thanks for checking out the video and hope you enjoyed it.
