Bruh. Don't play d2r. There are better version of d2r, and d2 mod out there. D2r is like an untuned polished car with no engine- it looks pretty but goes nowhere. In fact u have to get out and push it just to go anywhere. But hey, it looks pretty! Clunky mess that the unsupported devs never bothered to update and refine. Painfully stacking flawless gems one-by-one from your inventory into stash is a perfect example of a car that goes nowhere

Few tips for next season start: - Your merc can help a lot more in the beginning of the game. Act 2 merc with any pike, or any exceptional polearm generated in the cube (kris + any staff + any belt + any diamond) - combined with some rare armor with resists or if you come across something like boneflesh, venom ward, iceblink, hawkmail, darkglow... and almost any unique helm or even a magic circlet with some big elemental damage - he can carry a LOT of weight, especially with static. With a vita build, you'll save a lot of potion space for panic purples if you go prayer/insight combo. Throw on a Cure runeword for triple prayer, super mana regen and lower curse/poison duration. - that trick with chippies and wand/scepter/staff works throughout the game, so keep doing that. - 1 point in holy shield early on may not help your block % that much, but it reduces the animation to one frame. - You can save a respec by sticking with fireball and skip right to blizzard at lvl 24 - or even later. Use TirRal staff with some +skill that is useful - NM andy can be a good pit stop if you are really undergeared

A couple of retorts from my side: - I mostly follow the speed running routes to get the fastest builds possible and keeping a merc alive during the start often end being more of a hassle. Dont really miss him until i really want that mana regen or -ve res from infinity/plague -i’ll take you up on that holy shield idea for next time to see if it makes a difference vs physical attacks -I don’t get the love for fireball sorcs; personally I can’t play them past act 4 where fire resistances start spiking. Not to mention some of the first immunes you start seeing are fire immunes as well
@@trulynotChinmay Oh yeah, solo self found online... exp won't get you there in time. Offline p8 you're already 25 before fire res becomes a problem. The part right before where the fire res is bothersome is where the strong merc and, in case of bosses, static shines. For the true online speedrun, start the sorc in classic. No ancients or pesky act 5 saves a lot of time leveling.
A little tip for you to help with merc survivability in hell when dealing with cold immunes. You can also buy a wand with life tap charges the same way you got a wand with lower res. Life tap wand makes killing cold immunes with your merc super easy. (Still slow but easy) Merc wont die with that sweet sweet life tap on, even when fighting the cold immine ancient.

that super chest above mephisto is really a game changer... for years i skipped it and my friend said aye bro ur gonna get just as many good drops from that as from mephisto... and also if u can kill the council members too ull then uve tripled ur drops in 1 meph run
Nice video! Similar to how we do speedruns, but slight adjustments for min/maxing other than splitting hairs for the vigor points ;) For example, don't use salvation or fanat, but resist lightning as meph does mostly lightning damage and his skeles damage does not matter. Also, this means you don't require a tgods and can use your 15dr String of Ears.
This is what i plan on doing when i eventually buy d2r, cold sorc into uber pally which will then lead to highrune trades :D awesome to see the entire journey from start to Enigma.
Just to give you an idea for the future content - Blizzard isn’t as strong until itself, at least 1 synergy and Cold mastery are maxed out. Nova/Hydra or Orb/Hydra are much better because these skills have less synergies and higher base dmg which meand they powerspike earlier but wear out quicker which is where Blizz starts to shine. Plus in a SSF playthrough you allow yourself to realistically fight cold immunes. Frozen orb is OP for sorc at starting fresh. By level 30 you have its synergy maxed(ice bolt) and any extras go to blizzard after getting what’s need to orb and 1 point in static/teleport/warmth. Max. Orb then max blizzard, then max cold mastery and rest to blizzard synergy’s
Never really used f-orb with blizzard. Certainly interesting. I wonder if the damage carries all the way to hell since you will have less in blizz synergy

As far as I know Korlic's cold immunity could never be broken by a lower res wand. The sunder charm "change" was simply stating that if the immunity of a monster is broken by a sunder charm, the lower res and conviction aura would still only apply at 1/5th of its value. Lower res and conviction always worked at 1/5th effectiveness when trying to break an immunity.
The trade is interesting part of D2, it changes with the season and also you time vs value is always a factor. Im sure you didnt need to wait long for that um-trade - if you did you could probably get alot more but whats also depending on how much time you are willing to put into it. Time is runes in D2 am I right? ;)
I actually listed and relisted that jewel for a week before I ended up dropping the price and trading for an Um bin but i definitely see what you're saying. Most of my trades were done quickly but I also had to factor in the fact that I was making a video on the "start" of a ladder. Didn't want it to drag on forever either
Instead of manually dropping potions on your merc you can hit shift and whatever number potion slot you want to use and it'll hit him directly. Saves lots of time
Hey, barbs are taking over ladder this season it seems. people are really giving Gavel of Pain (hammer with amp damage charges) a lot of love to use with a ww barb and set uber WRs. no help from blizzard but the community is great enough to keep coming up with new stuff :D
It s crazy you respec your pally so quickly. I think holy fire paladin is the funnest and strongest normal playthrough ever. No mana issues 1hit kills on everything and bosses die in seconds. But either way it all works. Weird ive never seen a video from you and ive been playing on and off since before synergies were even in the game.
Oo idk if i agree with your holy fire assessment. I played through a zealer with holy fire in normal, freeze in nm and shock in hell and fire really falls off nearing act 4. Pits lords, necros, floaty ghost guys all have high fire res. Not to mention fire immunes are some of the first that start showing up
know this video is 3 months old and all but i actually prefer maxing cold mastery early ladder because mephisto actually have high cold resist (75) so if your plan is to mephisto farming its actually not a bad idea to max. if you wanna hit the sweet -100 which is achieved at lvl 32 cold mastery (-175) and your likely to respec later anyway with torch and annie
@@trulynotChinmay Yes and +levels in cold mastery gain some value if you plan on doing terror zones despite being 1/5 effective as it does keep scaling when its a zone with cold immunes, so even wearing an infinity prolly isnt super meme, theres prolly a magic number you would want it to regardless, but its hyper minmaxy and if you plan on moat tricking mephisto its like a difference of a few seconds in kill speed and abit slower on everything else because you have more cold mastery than damage synergies

Thanks :D The thing with zeal is that it will require attack rating to hit the monsters; something i did not stack so i just went with smite to have a 100% chance to hit
hey would love for you after you get comfortable with your strats to make this video in hc maybe next season. as this is a nice format to follow. personally i think you turned to hammers too early as fire aura rips hard all the way through normal and even into mid nm. i used to do a similar start but i would run sorc into hammerdin into seperate smiter. look forward to seeing you try hc as i recently swaped and had to throw out some of my old sc strats. its devatatingly fun.
Hey! Glad you liked the video. I have to say i am constantly surprised at people defending fire damage in this game as i think it falls off quite sharply post act 4 normal. You run into soooo many fire resistant monsters, not to mention, fire immunity is one of the first that you start to encounter as well. That being said, i will try to give it a go since so many people do swear by it Also as for hardcore content… to say that there is plenty of it coming would be an understatement. Stay tuned ;)
wow, you think? a 25 for a high rune? i had it listed for a week for an ist and i got no buyers; people really just wanna spend their runes on the ruby jewels of fervours
@@trulynotChinmay A 15 IAS 40 ED is the best you can get and it's very desiderable. You can a 15 IAS 25 ED which is basically the same thing just not perfect. But I also do not play on ladder, on NL I would give you an Ohm for it.
lol i see. i guess one thing you gotta keep in mind that ladder reset every so often; the most recent one being 23rd feb. so people don't have as many high runes as we do on our ssf-sp characters. also also, mostly people search for "ruby jewel for fervour" when going for a melee jewel and if they want to cheap out they'll just buy the lowest roll with that prefix. mine sadly was so low on ED that it was "realgar" jewel of fervour which isn't nearly as desirable
Yo you might already know this but you can click shift and a potion in your belt (number 1-4) to give merc a potion without dragging it from your inv. Nice vid tho :)
Yes… i’m not big on defensive/utility skills while leveling but sorc does have those nice options. Frozen armour is something i often pickup, just ended up focusing on damage here. Also i think youll agree that warmth with +skills is when gets to be really effective
Why I go into energy to start - sorc is super mana hungry after you get teleport and if you want to really breeze through you’ll need to be able to use it consistently. Unfortunately you don’t get your first big mana boost until you roll spirit and insight on your merc which is usually act 1 nightmare. So normal usually takes forever if you don’t go energy. At level 30, reroll into frozen orb, get your spirit and insight, and the rest of the game is easy mode. This is when I either spec into energy shield, or go vita build
I was with you till you mentioned frozen orb... sorry, i have always been a sucker for the blizz build. Going ham on energy sounds cool though, may try it in the future

Not sure what you're refering to here but if its shift clicking to fill the belt slots you're talking about then that would require me to empty my belt first to fill with stamina/thawings/antidotes. Speedrunners also just switch to original graphics because turns out that spamming left click in that mode is actually the fastest.
Socket quests aren’t *that* valuable on ladder because a normal rush costs a p ammy or two. Cube recipe does have the risk of costing more time than getting one additional socket quest if you end up bricking your base
I love Diablo2..... But I never fully grasp the gameplay. In Path of Exile I can micromanage up to 10 skills/spells buttons...but I can't really play d2....and that's why I've stopped playing it... I still love it...cause I was playing it back in the days...but I never learned how to actually play it😐
Haha, you usually hear the opposite. People being intimidated of PoE whereas D2 is rather simplistic with its cookie cutter nature. To each their own tho Trying to follow a guide/speedrun is a great way to get into this/any arpg i find. I have some on my channel and there and tons more on this website. As far as ur merc, u should have traded for something like boneflesh or skin of the flayed one or just made him a Bulwark helm since u are seasonal? I mean that’s basically a cheap vamp gaze more or less. Runes are obtainable at NM countess.

Interesting. I think the reason the emphasis is there on the early levels is because that’s when the most varied skill distribution occurs. Towards the end of the build, you’re basically just maxing out synergies so that’s why there isnt really that much content to show
Nice content. To be honest I prefer to finality of Hardcore. Watching non HC content is ok until death. It forces better skill / build and decisions. Any swinging dick can infinitely respawn to overcome lapses in gameplay or gearing. But when you go back to level 1 it forces better play.
Yeah, i see your point. Hardcore does add a little spice to the journey. Online tho, my ping is horrendously unpredictable, i doubt i will want to try hardcore
Every boss does have a special move… andy has her poison spread, duriel has his double jab, mephisto has his charged bolts, diablo has his lightning bolts and baal has his duplication
The aoe from nova is much better than charged bolts. Plus you get the qol with high static field. Not to mention this girl still had a respec left so its not like theyre a scarce commodity for her to begin with
Lvl to 25. Create game "need help w ancients and baal". Stand in Throne room with bot to lvl 40. Create nm game "Need taxi". Stand in Throne room with bot to lvl 60. Create hell game "Need taxi offer Hell forge". Stand in Throne room with bot to lvl 90. Takes about 1-2 days.
if you're getting something you want/need, it's an okay trade. I'd rather get what I need right away and maybe leave a little value on the table, vs trying to squeeze every bit of value out of something and sitting on it for awhile
@@trulynotChinmay lol I wish I have a weird ocd where I can’t just have 1 paladin or two I have 9! I hate respecing so I build out what I want and just leave them there until I want to play that build. I swear I wish I wasn’t that way but ocd wants what ocd wants.
Well you have this guide for one. There are other superb ones on youtube as well. What really got me into the game were speed runs; check mrllama, schmuck, kano, jymnasium, ryuquezacotl etc. Maxroll has some excellent written guides you can follow along with if that’s your fancy. we also have a discord where you can join and ask anything where you are having a problem and people will help. Go for it man.
P ammys? Yes you can cube up 3 flawless to get one. The efficient way is to hit up a gem shrine with one in your inventory as gem shrines always upgrade your last used inventory gem
I guess my biggest issue with the game is trading. Not knowing where to go/look, or what to offer. Any of that really. So I’ve basically been playing solo self found online. Where are people going to do this constant trading and stuff.
There are third party websites which basically connect you with people playing the game (ladder or non ladder) and you can bargain/chat with them in there and then trade in game. The one is use is Traderie. There is also d2jsp but that one is a more like a forum and not really suitable for beginners for trading

know this video is 3 months old and all but i actually prefer maxing cold mastery early ladder because mephisto actually have high cold resist (75) so if your plan is to mephisto farming its actually not a bad idea to max. if you wanna hit the sweet -100 which is achieved at lvl 32 cold mastery (-175) and your likely to respec later anyway with torch and annie

@@trulynotChinmay Yes and +levels in cold mastery gain some value if you plan on doing terror zones despite being 1/5 effective as it does keep scaling when its a zone with cold immunes, so even wearing an infinity prolly isnt super meme, theres prolly a magic number you would want it to regardless, but its hyper minmaxy and if you plan on moat tricking mephisto its like a difference of a few seconds in kill speed and abit slower on everything else because you have more cold mastery than damage synergies

The thing with zeal is that it will require attack rating to hit the monsters; something i did not stack so i just went with smite to have a 100% chance to hit
hey would love for you after you get comfortable with your strats to make this video in hc maybe next season. as this is a nice format to follow. personally i think you turned to hammers too early as fire aura rips hard all the way through normal and even into mid nm. i used to do a similar start but i would run sorc into hammerdin into seperate smiter. look forward to seeing you try hc as i recently swaped and had to throw out some of my old sc strats. its devatatingly fun.
Hey! Glad you liked the video. I have to say i am constantly surprised at people defending fire damage in this game as i think it falls off quite sharply post act 4 normal. You run into soooo many fire resistant monsters, not to mention, fire immunity is one of the first that you start to encounter as well. That being said, i will try to give it a go since so many people do swear by it
Also as for hardcore content… to say that there is plenty of it coming would be an understatement. Stay tuned ;)

@@trulynotChinmay A 15 IAS 40 ED is the best you can get and it's very desiderable. You can a 15 IAS 25 ED which is basically the same thing just not perfect.
But I also do not play on ladder, on NL I would give you an Ohm for it.
lol i see. i guess one thing you gotta keep in mind that ladder reset every so often; the most recent one being 23rd feb. so people don't have as many high runes as we do on our ssf-sp characters. also also, mostly people search for "ruby jewel for fervour" when going for a melee jewel and if they want to cheap out they'll just buy the lowest roll with that prefix. mine sadly was so low on ED that it was "realgar" jewel of fervour which isn't nearly as desirable

Yo you might already know this but you can click shift and a potion in your belt (number 1-4) to give merc a potion without dragging it from your inv. Nice vid tho :)

Yes… i’m not big on defensive/utility skills while leveling but sorc does have those nice options. Frozen armour is something i often pickup, just ended up focusing on damage here. Also i think youll agree that warmth with +skills is when gets to be really effective
Why I go into energy to start - sorc is super mana hungry after you get teleport and if you want to really breeze through you’ll need to be able to use it consistently. Unfortunately you don’t get your first big mana boost until you roll spirit and insight on your merc which is usually act 1 nightmare. So normal usually takes forever if you don’t go energy. At level 30, reroll into frozen orb, get your spirit and insight, and the rest of the game is easy mode. This is when I either spec into energy shield, or go vita build
I was with you till you mentioned frozen orb... sorry, i have always been a sucker for the blizz build. Going ham on energy sounds cool though, may try it in the future

Not sure what you're refering to here but if its shift clicking to fill the belt slots you're talking about then that would require me to empty my belt first to fill with stamina/thawings/antidotes. Speedrunners also just switch to original graphics because turns out that spamming left click in that mode is actually the fastest.

i would reserve lazruk sockets for uniques and just the horadric recipe for socketing normal items.
Socket quests aren’t *that* valuable on ladder because a normal rush costs a p ammy or two. Cube recipe does have the risk of costing more time than getting one additional socket quest if you end up bricking your base

That jewel is maybe worth a Mal. If it was 40ed or 15 max d (high AR can be nice) it would have be worth enough to build 2 end game chars.

As far as ur merc, u should have traded for something like boneflesh or skin of the flayed one or just made him a Bulwark helm since u are seasonal? I mean that’s basically a cheap vamp gaze more or less. Runes are obtainable at NM countess.

This one is a bit slow for my taste. Too much emphasis on normal/early levels.
Interesting. I think the reason the emphasis is there on the early levels is because that’s when the most varied skill distribution occurs. Towards the end of the build, you’re basically just maxing out synergies so that’s why there isnt really that much content to show

Nice content. To be honest I prefer to finality of Hardcore. Watching non HC content is ok until death. It forces better skill / build and decisions. Any swinging dick can infinitely respawn to overcome lapses in gameplay or gearing. But when you go back to level 1 it forces better play.
Yeah, i see your point. Hardcore does add a little spice to the journey. Online tho, my ping is horrendously unpredictable, i doubt i will want to try hardcore

Every boss does have a special move… andy has her poison spread, duriel has his double jab, mephisto has his charged bolts, diablo has his lightning bolts and baal has his duplication
Frost Nova Sorc is way better than frozen Orb and Blizzard but u need a 15% cold damage + 3 to Frost Nova Ormus robe. It has energy shield

The aoe from nova is much better than charged bolts. Plus you get the qol with high static field. Not to mention this girl still had a respec left so its not like theyre a scarce commodity for her to begin with

Well you have this guide for one. There are other superb ones on youtube as well. What really got me into the game were speed runs; check mrllama, schmuck, kano, jymnasium, ryuquezacotl etc. Maxroll has some excellent written guides you can follow along with if that’s your fancy. we also have a discord where you can join and ask anything where you are having a problem and people will help. Go for it man.

P ammys? Yes you can cube up 3 flawless to get one. The efficient way is to hit up a gem shrine with one in your inventory as gem shrines always upgrade your last used inventory gem

I guess my biggest issue with the game is trading.
Not knowing where to go/look, or what to offer. Any of that really.
So I’ve basically been playing solo self found online.
Where are people going to do this constant trading and stuff.
There are third party websites which basically connect you with people playing the game (ladder or non ladder) and you can bargain/chat with them in there and then trade in game. The one is use is Traderie. There is also d2jsp but that one is a more like a forum and not really suitable for beginners for trading
