    Another tip,
    If you're getting popping at the start of your sound,
    Try increasing the attack by 1-5 ms

    I like heavy cromch with the distortion but just turn down the mix and do prefiltering around 300hz. Gives it that nice saturation without destroying the sound. Great vid as always!

    So if I'm following this correctly, if you tweak a parameter and your sound gets less bassy or further away from how you want it to sound then you should pull back on that parameter a bit right? Maybe we can think of it in broader terms; If you begin to do anything to anything and the output is getting worse then you just have to remain conscious of the thing you were doing and kinda back-track a little until you return to the bit where it wasnt worse.

    • @ohno6325
      @ohno6325 2 роки тому +5

      turn your attack up some on your ADSR

    • @luke-8equalsD
      @luke-8equalsD 2 роки тому +5

      Click comes from a short attack. Attack is like a fade in from 0 volume at the beginning of the sound

    • @ohno6325
      @ohno6325 2 роки тому +6

      and if you get a click at the END of your sound, its your release. if you want a sound thats immediate and immediately goes away, try having an attack around 0.4 ms and a release of about 100. youll notice the pops disappeared as you tweak it. doesnt take much

    If you use wider maxed out will it cause the sound to be cancelled out on a mono system? Does having more gain on the side eat up headroom that could go towards the mono channel?

    • @BuntingMusic
      @BuntingMusic  2 роки тому

      no, wider is surprisingly mono compatible even when maxed out, i just think too much width makes the mono signal FEEL weaker (which is where the beef should be!) and makes the sound a little too chorus-y for my taste
