I remember this game because my little brother taught me most of the tricks. Unfortunately He past away 5 years ago, every time I see this game He comes to my memories, I love you brother 😢
Sorry for your loss, my man. Just know he's with you when you think or play this. Keep your head up. You will only get past it, bit you will never get over it. 💯
I’m sorry to hear about your brother my cousin actually was the only person I knew back when the game came out in the 80’s I was a little kid and couldn’t get to the level where he made it to he ended it with one quarter and now it reminds me of him he still around I want to get the arcade game for my home to play it again and again this is my favorite game
This was and will always be my favourite game ever. I remember the time when I killed the boss (27 rounds) and being the 1st in my area. Wow, everyone else in the shop left their games and gathered around me. Best days 😘

My word😳❤️bro you just took me back to my childhood days in the late 80's and early 90's,I used to master this game, getting to Round 27 where you go against the BIG BOSS was no biggie for me,one coin would literally last me hours on end. See in home country, Soweto, Johannesburg,South Africa 🇿🇦 we used to compete by setting the highest score, guys from different areas used to come to my part of town just to compete and leave a high score for the next best guy to beat. The guy playing here was very quick to the finish line(or break line)...in my country we would surf the Red Beast that would come out when the time was up, we would ride that fella til all he could do was just go through as fast,at times he would come through 4x as quick without you having to jump while accumulating points and increasing your score. Also there was no rush to the finish line,we knew the secret stashes for bonus points, see the guy here was in a rush and gobbled the RED MARK❓You had to strike that thing until it changed into a bonus prize of some sort to score you more points...the tall dude...we used to call him "Oom Piet" which literally translates to "Old Pete",we never used to blast him, we'd rather jump to his head to score massive bonus points, along with those hermits that would climb on top of each other,to get bonus points one would have to blast them vertically all at once,I think that came with a 10000 bonus points which added to your total score...man I was exceptionally good at this game, knew all the secret stashes and new how to harness different bonus points. Thank you for the sweet memory man ✌🏿👊🏿
I remember playing this back in '87/'88 when we spun pennies in the coin slot and got free plays. We also found if you get a red jewel with a question mark, you could hit this multiple times, it would change each time, giving a different jewel - including the blue cross power up (and invincibility). Question marks appeared for us a lot more than in this video so its appearance could depend on how well you play the game.
Finishing The Game straight with no deaths and gaining the secret jackpot back then, not only will make you a Celebrity for that day, but becoming a Legend too at The Arcades.
que nostalgia, era muleque quando jogava escondido nos bares, até minha mãe descobrir e ir me buscar de bituca atrás de mim. aí sempre apanhava, mas no outro dia estava lá de novo kkkk
I find it amazing that Rygar for the NES is actually way better then the actual arcade game. That's actually not suppose to happen but it happened here.
This actually got pretty creative with the backgrounds and enemy types, though it was a relentless linear onslaught. I’d say different though not necessarily worse too. NES Bionic Commando was significantly better though. That did happen.
Oh man, what a trip down memory lane. When I first moved to Ohio, there was a Pony Keg next to the complex and I spent hours on this game. I was sad when they pulled it out cause I was so close to getting to the end.
Definitely my favourite game as a young teen. Still remember my one and only time beating the game back then. I just loved the whole jump attack game flow and getting to those not so often seen latter stages. best part of the whole game was the 1000000 bonus. I bought my own arcade machine a few years back purely to play this game. Ended up selling the machine and now after watching this I about ready to get another machine all over again.
Where did you get a machine for this game I been looking for years and can’t find anyone who can even know what the game looks like 👍 let me know if you can find one for me please
I gotta say that this is the first time that I see Rygar on arcade, my cousin had it on the NES and the music was beautiful, the whole game was different though, I wish I could have had played this on the arcade back in the days.
My fav game growing up. My friend anx I were addicted and lived in gameshops playing arcade games but this was our absolutely fav. I actually want to buy a couple for home use ... man cave. Long overdue.
Funny, I remember playing this game in the arcade when I was a kid, yet I do not recall his voice being so high-pitched as it is here. He sounds like a kid!
Thanks for posting. My favorite game ever - finished it a bunch of times. I didn’t watch all the way through, but it looked like an easier mode (could have been the one I played!) - I remember playing a harder / hardest mode and it was a lot tougher. You could also time your jump on the big blue dudes heads for 50k extra, I think 🤔
gastei muita ficha nesse jogo numa casa de fliperama na Rua Teodoro Sampaio em São Paulo, nos anos 90... que lembrança ótima! Thank you @hidefaces this is the best arcade game I played in 90's
I remember playing the NES version first before I saw the arcade as a kid then I was like 'Omg there's a Rygar arcade? It looks so different from the Nintendo game' Lol
The one good thing about the arcade version that's different ( besides Graphics of course ) is the fact you don't leave the world and go into another but, you play straight through. I can't count how many times I'd get lost trying to find the other places to continue from and to lol.
@@PromotingTheBeat What are you on about when you say you don't leave the world and go into another, are you talking about the score round up at the end of each level? that's the same on arcade and MAME. What do you mean you get lost trying to find other places - it's a left to right scrolling game? impossible to get lost!
Great game bro! You seem invincible but you forgot at least five tricks considering the incredible world record is 10 million 1. the enemies that line up if you destroy them all while they are lined up you can do it with the normal weapon or when you have the sun by standing close to it or when you have the barrier you stand in the center and jump up you earn 10,000 points each time 2. when you climb the rope to destroy the enemies on the sides you don't have to unbalance then simply shoot the weapon in the appropriate direction 3. if you shoot the (?) you will get the barrier 4. If you lose a life and get all five superpowers back you will get one hundred thousand points again 5. on the thirteenth screen when the stars appear at the top you have to shoot with the sun or even with the normal weapon (but in this case jumping over the enemies) a certain number of times at a star you will get the bonus of one million!
I was the best at this when I was 14 I spent most of my money on this game Once I had my 4 shields, I couldn't lose. Lots of chances missed to score points 😂. I really was the dogs at this game
This was one of my favorite games back in the day and I could beat it with 1-3 quarters, depending on my “ninja” reflexes that day, lol. I appreciate the walkthrough but I wish you at least tried for the hidden 1,000,000 point scroll 📜 in round 13. Thanks!
"You " or "the machine" forgot to pick up the 1 million dot flag next to the star at the top on screen 13. . With the tiger, jump on top of the blue giant's head and win 50 thousand! The red question mark is the force field, shoot it until it turns into a cross.
I remember it used to take like an 1-1/2 to beat the game because i was greedy trying to collect all coin for the high score playing at the arcade when i was 11yrs old all the kids hated waiting for me, while others admired me just cuz i beat the game every time miss the crowd cheering.

Love you so much dear, I am searching a my childhood game since long time, Hero is wearing just a tight fit paint, upper body is nude and body structure like slim superman, only punches and kicks, at every stage a white "P" appears, if hero gets "P" then he becomes a white man for limited time and can finish any enemy in one Punch/kick, every third or fourth stage is for boss. I best remember 2nd boss who was fat and lazy but throws powerful punches/kicks and his deadly attack is fire. 2nd boss blow fire from mouth that can finish hero instantly otherwise hero needs several punches/kicks to be dead.
This is one sparse play through. Missing hidden treasures and the million point bonus on stage 13. Losing out on jumping those horned green guys heads. Barely cracking 2 mil like that will never get you to a higher score than my 4.8 million record.
