RIP Chris Cornell
Great reaction! Lead singer and songwriter is the legend Chris Cornell, known for his deep lyrics, amazing vocal range and ability to make you feel all the feels. He’s on many lists of top rock vocalists ever.
Soundgarden’s big hits include Black Hole Sun, Burden in my Hand, Spoonman, The day I tried to live (unusual time signature again, they were known for that). Some stuff is much harder like Slaves and Bulldozers which really shows his vocal range.
He was also in a one album band called Temple of the Dog. Hunger Strike was a huge hit and one the biggest grunge songs. Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam sings with him on it before PJ was a thing.
Was also in Audioslave which is him and all the members of Rage Against the Machine minus the lead singer. I think you’d love their song Like a Stone.
He also had a great solo career and did a bunch of acoustic stuff. He’s so amazing acoustic and live. Check out Sunshower and Seasons(studio jam version).
And my all time fave live performance of anyone ever is his solo song ‘when I’m downs’ live at the Troubadour.
Unfortunately he took his life in 2017 which was such a tragedy. Miss his presence but so grateful to be left with soooo much great music he created! 😊❤
Everything Brenda said. I would also recommend the Soundgarden songs “Overfloater” and “Mailman,” as they have a similar musical vibe (sort of mellow-sounding songs, but the emotion behind them is a sort of simmering rage and sadness). Chris Cornell was a poet over and above being a rock god.

You have to listen to Burden In My Hand..It's another one of their hits. Chris was a true gem that will never fade away.
Chris is my favorite vocalist of all time.. If you liked this you should listen to Chris Cornell in the band Temple of the Dog and the song is "Say Hello to Heaven" It was a mix of 2 bands who came together to tribute the late singer who died of an overdose that both bands new extremely well.
I am here in hope that I win the lottery. This had better pay off. Love Soundgarden. Every album is worth checking out.
