Thanks Steve! Ya it amazes me how many people are telling me there is no SDE? I'll admit it's not bad, but it certainly is there. I guess you and I must just be hyper sensitive to it? I've also had several of my viewers tell me the Quest Pro has the same problem, and I hadn't heard that before now either. It is certainly not enough to be a deal breaker, but people should be aware of it.
I got mine today and I'm quite impressed with it, I totally agree with you on every point. One big positive that should be mentioned too is how big the sweetspot is now, you can look to the sides and read text without having to move your head which is just great. Absolutely everything about it is much better thant on Quest 2, it's a big leap in quality in every single aspect. Only one thing is worse, and that's the SDE that you mention in your video. I wasn't expecting that, it's not a big deal and nothing to do with how it was on the OG Rift or anything, far from it, but it was something I had totally forgotten about with Q2 and now it's made a bit of a slight comeback. Not a major issue at all, I guess it's the tradeoff of canting the lenses to get a wider FOV but yes, it's definitely there. On the other hand getting that extra FOV more than makes up for that. I have to do more testing but I tried a few games via VD with the new AV1 codec and everything looked fantastic. That and the wider FOV might make me ditch my Index and only use Q3 for now, at least until an Index 2 or similar is out. All in all, a fantastic headset IMO, totally worth the price.
Thank you for taking the time to make such a detailed comment. It's good to know other people are having the same experience I am. You're right about the sweet spot I just don't think to mention that because inherently any pancake or aspherical lens has a big sweet spot. I'll try to remember to mention it in my full review. I'm so glad you're enjoying your Quest 3 and thanks for watching!
Your use of sweetspot is incorrect. The sweetspot in the past was used interchangable between what is known as the eyebox (where your eyes are positioned to get a clear image) and edge-to-edge (where your eyes a are looking to get a clear image). The proper interpretation for sweetspot is with defining the size of the eyebox which pancake lenses are probably the best in the business and fresnel lenses are terrible at.
@@dtrjonesthank you for your explanation. For me the "Sweet Spot" is where the vision is the best and I think most people think of it similarly so in reality as long as I'm getting my point across that is what is important to me. I even refer to the "Sweet Spot" in aspheric lenses as the point where you don't get any distortion (or at least minimize it). Thanks again for the comment.
Thanks @@GYGOtv your interpretation of sweetspot is spot on. I was refering to @Gonzax who hinted at the sweetspot being edge to edge clarity and I was just clarifying. 👍
@@dtrjonesAhhh, got it, sorry I guess I misread the post. Good to know I actually got this right... sometimes I over simplify things to try and make them more easily understandable for newcomers. Appreciate your contributions to keep me in line :) Thanks as always for watching!
I'd love to take the credit... but I just noticed the weird lines :) You can thank Norm from Tested for actually answering what was causing that issue. Appreciate you watching and thanks for the comment!
I have the Quest Pro, but the following should also be valid and help for tweaking the Quest 3. For PCVR for nearly no loss of compression you can set the Bitrate in the oculus debug tool to 960mbit. You have to copy/paste the number e.g. from notepad. Otherwise it will not be accepted. And as always SS helps a lot. I run it at the highest setting in the oculus app and add 1.3 SS on top of that. And the headset can be charged while being used for PCVR. But you have to use an PD injector with enough power.
Thank you so much for the recommendations tobiasruh!!! As most know I'm a total noob on the Quest stuff so any advice is greatly appreciated. Can you tell me more about this PD injector? Again the power drain is my biggest concern right now.
Just got mine yesterday, having had my first VR experience on the free ones with samsung phones a few years back. Mind blown using hand gestures to move and tap the MR interface. And mini golf is awesome!
LOL, Ok now I have to find Mini-Golf!!! That was my point that if you haven't tried VR in awhile I think this new headset will certainly impress. I'm glad you are giving VR another go and I agree that whole hand tracking/menu deal is amazing! Thanks for watching and commenting too.
Very astute observations. Many other reviewers I have to listen intently and pick out what I think is important information. With you I can relax and just enjoy the review. I ask myself ‘why is this so’ and what I come up with is I think it’s an IQ thing. Anyway, I ordered one of these, should be here tomorrow. I have Quest 2 and G2. I was blown away when I first got my G2 because I realized how much more comfortable the VR experience was with the Display Port and low latency. If only they had made a G3 with these lenses ! I am skeptical how much I’m gonna like this Q3 for PCVR but I’m willing to give it a try and it at least should be good for some stand alone. Good review, thx
Thank you for taking the time to watch and for the comment! It's funny because the Quest 3 is actually kind of what I would have expected from an HP G3 in a lot of ways. Obviously my big concern is the battery life, but the experience in the Quest 3 is pretty amazing. I hope you are as impressed with the difference between pancake and fresnel lenses as I was. Appreciate the compliment and I'll continue to try and keep my reviews as relaxing as possible. Again, thank you for watching!
Haven't bought one yet but I will once I get off my lazy ass and sell my Q2. I am still having so much fun with my Crystal and playing such old games and gawking at the new mind blowing visuals of old games that looked like crap compared to now with the Crystal. So much fun and so much more enjoyable with these visuals.
Hey GT, I don't know if I'd buy a Quest 3 if you are really enjoying the Crystal (unless you have some Oculus games you want to play). The visuals aren't quite there compared to the Crystal so you will probably be disappointed in the Quest 3... that is unless you compare it to the Quest 2, then you will certainly be impressed. Hope that makes sense and thanks for watching as always!
I can't wait to see how much better this headset is over the Quest 2, will there be a big difference in the graphics with playing pcvr games over the Quest 2? I am already impressed with playing pcvr games on the Quest 2 now, I just ordered the Quest 3 512 GB with a Elite strap with battery, because I never use the default strap the headset comes with, the Elite strap with battery is a must buy accessory for me, more comfortable to wear and longer battery life on the headset, and I heard Meta made the Elite strap more durable this time, which is good, the bigger storage option for me is a must, I'll be able to have more games on it, a bigger FOV is a plus also, when vr cover comes out with a facial interface for the Quest 3, I'll most likely buy one for the headset, vr cover has the best facial interfaces for vr headsets, I've been waiting all year for the Quest 3 to come out, every Oculus or Meta headset that I have owned so far has been good and worth the buy
Congrats on the Quest 3 order!!! I think when you see the difference from the Quest 2 it will amaze you. Going from Fresnel lenses to the Pancake is hard to describe. Being able to look around the headset and everything looks clear is almost indescribable, you just need to experience it for yourself. I can't really answer how different the games will be from the Quest 2 because this is my first Quest. I will say the new Snapdragon chip will allow faster network transfer which should mean less compression and artifacting on the image, but I'll have to test that more to see. Stay tuned for my further review and enjoy your Quest 3 in the meantime.
Finally someone honest about camera quality. It’s not good by at all HOWEVER surprisingly it doesn’t really effect the gameplay or immersion all that much if at all. It’s pretty damn fun. It’s the modern day version of wishing you had an arcade machine at home. It’s really all mine to use as long as the battery lets me (about two hours) which is enough for me to want to rest my head anyways.
LOL absolutely love the comment! I agree with exactly what you say there, in fact my better half Brenda LOVES the Mixed Reality Game and she said it feels like she is in Disneyland when playing it. Even with bad camera's etc... it's hard to argue with that kind of reaction. And it is only going to get better as time goes on. Thanks for the comment and watching our channel. Love having viewers who appreciate what we are trying to do here.
I stuck with the strap on my headset on my Quest 2 for way too long. It's such a massive improvement in usability that I think it's essential. When I upgrade to the Quest 3 I'll be grabbing the BoboVR M3 Pro straight away. Both for the comfort and for the hot swappable batteries. I'll definitely be getting the 512GB version as well. I have a 256Gb Quest 2 and I've already used 128GB, despite the fact that I mostly use it for PCVR and don't keep any videos on there. Also most existing games are increasing in size (even on the Quest 2) with the enhancements being done to the assets to take advantage of the Quest 3. For instance Red Matter 2 is jumping from 5.6GB to 9.1GB, Espire 2 is jumping from 7GB to 12GB and Hubris is going from 5.2GB to 8.2GB. Also, since MR isn't usable on PCVR, there's likely going to be more apps I want to keep on the headset. I got Demeo on Quest instead of Steam purely for the MR mode update they did (it's cross-buy, so I've still got it for PCVR, but MR makes more difference for me than the minor PCVR improvements in graphics and performance). Lastly, I setup a dedicated wifi 6E access point for VR use (TPLink RE815XE range extender in access point mode) a week or so back. Even with the Quest 2, having an uncontested 1200mbps 5ghz (wifi 6) network is such a huge improvement the link cable is barely worth using anymore. The only remaining reason to use it, is for not needing to swap batteries (so long as you have a USB C port capable of adequate power delivery, or one of the cables that uses 1 USB C port and one USB A port for additional power).
Thanks for the feedback Joric78, yes I was looking at straps last night as well, and looks like Meta, Kiwi and the Bobo are the big contenders. I'm leaning toward the Bobo myself because I LOVE that battery design (pay attention Pimax!). Anyway, great news on the Wifi 6E, I kind of suspected that might be the case. I did some more testing today on my 5Ghz network and could certainly see some compression. Fingers crossed a 6E router might show up under the Xmas tree this year? A Bobo strap in the stocking? I guess I'll have to be a good boy from here on out. Anyway thanks for watching!
@@GYGOtv I used the Kiwi Elite strap with Quest 2. For Quest 3, I chose the Meta Elite strap with a battery. The purchase still not delivered, so I can't compare it yet. It attaches firmly to the face, which is not a problem for me. Bobo you'll always feel like you might lose it, because it moves slightly. When lying down, it won't be usable for sure. Bobo for simulators is ok, for action games I would skip..
@@pastuhThanks for the reply, I've never really liked "Halo" straps like the Bobo for the exact reason you mention. I'd like to have a replaceable battery so I'll see if the Kiwi offers that. It's nice to have feedback from people who have used these things, really appreciate it!
I'm about half through the vid. Glad to know you see a lot of positives with this. It looks like you are mostly covering the visuals / specs, so I thought I'd ask, which is the most important thing to me: is Meta / Facebook / Zuckerberg, etc, going to lull into their empire in any way, either directly or indirectly. Directly being they require you to create an "account" so you can "utilize all of their other fabulous services and experiences." Indirectly being they could still track your IP addresses and information, even though you don't give it, and of course have you in books. I'm really against stuff like that, and it's very, very important to me.
Hey mikem, yes I'm right there with you and hence why I vowed never to support Facebook/Meta ( ua-cam.com/video/sD-ItA-0_EM/v-deo.html ). The simple answer to your question is Yes, probably based on their history. As for making a "Meta" account, that is typical I mean we obviously have "Steam" accounts too and obviously not connecting the VR account with the Facebook account is huge, but I still don't trust that company in general and if anyone was going to find a way to use your info, my money would be on Meta over everyone else. One of the funny things about all this is that the Quest 3 NOT having eye tracking is actually a big positive from this privacy perspective... that was one of my concerns with the Quest Pro, who know how much tracking data they are gathering. Anyway, if that is you primary concern, I'd say skip any meta product because I can't say they aren't doing some shady stuff in the background. Thanks for watching.
@@GYGOtv The trick with Meta is buy the HMD to do PCVR, and buy all your stuff on Steam, my guess is Meta doesn't make much money on the HMD itself but make a fortune with their overpriced accessories and the software on the Quest Store. I buy aftermarket accessories from 3rd parties (BoBoVR to name one) and buy my games in Steam, this way I can use my software on ANY HMD be it Meta or not. The only thing I bought from the Quest Store was Virtual Desktop because it's the only place I could! LOL
If you don't want to get your ip and information tracked you shouldn't use internet man. Every site, browser, app, game, etc do that something and even if you use NordVPN, Thor, Linux or whatever you are giving the info to them instead so same thing
Standalone it's exceptional with library and Mr XR features. Used a Pico 4 at $250-350 is right there for PCVR adding Ethernet to usb-c tethering that charges and gives full bandwidth of VD. Upgrade for G2 and quest 2 but not for a quest pro or Pico 4 user. Aero and crystal on another level for better or worse, pumax software etc...
Great insight, I already know of 2 Quest Pro users that have returned the Quest 3 because it wasn't worth it to them. I can't speak to the Pico Headsets so it is great to hear from other Pico users for sure. I'll try to sort through all this mess as I test it more. Thanks for watching.
Great review and impressions. Very detailed... I'm waiting for mine to be delivered today as an upgrade from Quest 2 that was also an upgrade from an Index... overall, seems like a worthy upgrade, as long as i pay for the cheaper option to justify. It's tough, because i know I'll eventually wish I'd have more space, but i will play more pc vr than stand-alone... though i do have a bunch of Quest 2 games... and I'll likely be getting a few more standalone only with Quest 3... but that $150 I'll have toward a future upgraded HMD maybe in a couple years. One new concern I'm getting now from hearing of your noticing of SDE is the angle of the screens (canted) now. I have great eyes/vision, so i hope i don't notice it though. I really am hoping ....😢
Congrats on the new purchase... I think you will absolutely be amazed by the Quest 3 vs. your Quest 2. To me that edge to edge clarity is worth every penny. The other REALLY cool thing is I've been testing a lot of the Virtual Desktop PCVR and it looks amazing with my wireless connection. I think that new XR2 chip along with the new AV1 codec from the 4000 series Nvidia cards is doing great. Even without the AV1 on my 3080ti, it still looks fantastic and that is without the new Wifi 6E... with one of those I can only imagine how good it would be. Thanks for watching and enjoy your new Quest 3.
Hi, can you help me? What headset would you recommend if you had a entertainment business in flying fighter jets with DCS? Consider software friendly, different users throughout the day, robustness and still a good immersive experience. No need for fancy secondary stuff like hand tracking. Pure game play experience. Also I see you use a motion platform. How does this work with inside or outside tracking? Thank for your time and your channel. Feels really genuine. With regards, Dave
Hi Dave, thanks for watching the channel, I'm happy to help. I'd probably recommend the Varjo Aero, with the only downside being you need an additional audio solution. The Crystal is too big and heavy to be comfortable for everyone and the Quest 3 doesn't use a display port and seems to run out of batteries very quickly. The only other real contender might be the Upcoming Pico 5 Pro Max which will have the display port and will be small and light similar to the Quest 3, but we don't have a release date yet, and at this time it is not officially supported in the USA if that is where you are. If you are not trying to provide the top tier experience, you could also look at the HP Reverb G2, which is nearing the end if it's life cycle BUT is still considered a great simming headset and also has great built in audio along with comfort. It's downside is smaller FOV (field of view) and also uses old Fresnel lenses which get blurry as you look toward the edges. If you can afford to do Motion Platforms, they add SO MUCH to the immersion and feeling of flight. This is a whole other discussion if you are serious so let me know what you are thinking (you can also email me if you want this discussion to be more private). If you decide to go this route, you will need to add "Motion Compensation" to the motion rig. There are generally 2 ways to do this depending on what VR Headset and motion rig you choose but it works with the rigs and is a great experience. I'd imagine you will be doing several units if you are starting a business so let me know if this is something you plan to move forward with. I'm fortunate enough to have contacts with both DOF Reality (motion rig) and Varjo for the headset if you choose that one. I might be able to get you some sort of deal if you are buying in bulk. Otherwise, if you are just buying a few, please consider using my affiliate links for the headset and you can also use the code "gygo" with DOF Reality to get a small discount on your purchases. Hope that helps and please let me know if you have any other questions. -Mark
u're definitely right about the horrible battery life. another big letdown is that i can see from the bottom when i wear it. It doesnt completely block out light from getting in. I constantly could see the floor. the other thing is hate is the comfort level wearing the quest 3, i never could forget i'm wearing it. the lack of killer apps is another thing i felt brings it down for me. every game i played had graphics that look liked cellphone games and about as much depth.
Great observation... I noticed the light leakage too and will be sure to mention it on the full review. I HATE LIGHT LEAKAGE!!!! Although I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be... maybe because my big nose blocks more light :) Still it is something I will hope to fix with after market products (talking to you VR Cover). The Battery life is my biggest concern. I've heard of people making things work to lengthen the play time but I don't think you will be able to play indefinitely for sure. Hope to squeeze at least 4 hours out of it somehow, but we will see. I am also worried about the "cellphone" games, when people told me the average size of a Quest game was around 10 Gigs, I was thinking to myself, then they must suck pretty bad then. Anyway, thanks for watching and the comment!
Good video! In regards to the battery, what about plugging the usb c into a wall outlet? That'll charge much faster than a computer port. I'm a crystal user so I'm glad you made honest comparisons. My only consideration for this would be using it as a light weight 3D movie headset but the visuals still seem not quite there yet.
I plan to test out plugging it into both the wall and also the battery packs I currently use to power my wireless Vive Pro. Since the headset seems to negative charge, I don't think those are going to keep it running indefinitely, but if we could get upwards of 4 hours or so that would be a big help. As for a light weight 3D movie headset, maybe... I think the screen door effect would concern me a little along with the weird tilted screens because you are going to see that line around the virtual screen and it will look jaggy and might throw off the feeling. I'll try to test it out so stay tuned for the full review. Thanks for the comment and suggestion.
Those are custom made, we used some Scotty Ball-Mounts made for fishing ( amzn.to/3v7RQve ) and then customized the actual mounting solution for the fan. Here are the details ua-cam.com/video/zlGQ3N_1LAg/v-deo.html Glad we could help on the SFU Upgrade, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Thanks SiXiam, I figure UA-cam is full of videos with all the specs so you can get those anywhere. I try to relay the experience so people might be able to get something from the video that they can't find as easily elsewhere. Appreciate you watching.
Good first impression video, I had to laugh at many places since you are new to Stand Alone HMDs. I've had the Quest-2 since launch (the 64gb model, but hey, it has the Oculus logo at the front), I also own a Pico 4, this is the headset that I'll be comparing to when I get my Quest-3 (Monday). As for price, in Canada, we have to bend over a lot further, $650 for 128gb and $850 for 512gb models, so as you can imagine, the Quest 3 accessories from Meta are outrageously priced, example.... $95 for the plain Elite strap, that's a hell of a markup for $5 worth of plastic. What you might want to do is use a Link Cable, in the Oculus software, up the resolution and test something like AC (Not ACC), and see how the compression is for distance viewing, looking down the race track at far away items, this is where compression of stand alone HMD fail, in my G2, everything is pretty clear and crisp even in the distance, with my Quest 2 or Pico 4, it's a blurry mess. For up close game play, these stand alone HMDs do very well, HL Alyx is beautiful in the Pico 4, but if outside (starting Scenes), in the distance, the compression is visible, but mostly looks really good since most of the game is indoors or in dark caves. Looking forward to seeing your full review. Enjoy! :)
Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed comment! I figured I was making people laugh that have been doing this for a while. It's a lot to learn and I appreciate all the help you guys are giving me. I'll definitely spend some time trying to look at that compression deal. Maybe you can help me because I can't find a way to turn off the wireless network connection and go directly to the cable, even when it's plugged in? Also I'd be very interested in hearing your comparisons especially to the Pico since I've never used one of those. Thanks again for watching our stuff.
@@GYGOtvI think you can still increase the bitrate manually up to 500 Mbps, it's an exe in the Oculus folder, but you have to use USB to get there. For wireless, VP has always worked better for me than airlink, heck, when I got my Q2 it wasn't even available.
Just a update, I got my Quest-3 yesterday, I haven't tried using a Link Cable yet but from what I hear, it's not great (Oculus Rift PC software needs updates), but using Virtual Desktop, OMG, this is the closest thing I've seen from a Stand Alone HMD to my Reverb G2, I tried it with AC watching a replay, the clarity was the best I've seen in a Stand Alone HMD, I couldn't see any compression like with the Quest-2 or Pico 4. The bonus over the G2 was edge to edge clarity of the pancake optics and a better FOV than the G2 (Facial interface set to as close to lenses as possible). So far, I am blown away by the Quest 3, my biggest gripe is the facial interface, it's uncomfortable, feel "abrasive" (for lack of a better word), I have a silicone cover coming for it late next week. So far, I am loving the Quest 3.
@@jackr.749Thanks for the update Jack, I spent the morning doing basically the same thing. I played a ton of wireless PCVR titles through Virtual Desktop and they all looked really good. Saw some weird distortion a few times but it was really minimal. I'm thinking with a 6E Router the Quest 3 would be fantastic if it is this good on an old 5Ghz router. Unfortunately I'm only getting just over 2 hours on the battery, but as soon as it charges again I'm going to do some driving to test that out too. This might become the headset I do my roomscale in vs. the Crystal... it is just so much more lighter. I guess we will have to wait and see how good the Crystal wireless is, but it has some strong competition right now with how the Quest 3 looks. The bar is pretty high here Pimax!
@@GYGOtv Actually, I can't see a wifi 6e router making much difference with Virtual Desktop since the max mbps you can now set for the Quest 3 is 200mbps, so even wifi 5 should be able to keep up with a clean wifi connection. I'm using mine on a wifi 6 (non e) dedicated router and so far it's running pretty good even with my SteamVR res set to 3056 x 3176 and it looks great in AC. :)
We have a VR HMD sickness.. Anytime a new one comes out I feel this overwhelming interest to try it. Its a real problem. lol! My issue is comfort isn't good out the box with the Q3, needs comfort mods, I agree the experience is pretty good. Did you order a Bigscreen Beyond?
Hey Killswitch, maybe we need to form a help group? "Hello my name is Mark and I own 7 Headsets." :) I hear you on the comfort, but that seems to be the order of the day anymore. Look at how much extra work (and expense) I had to put into getting the Crystal tolerable, so buying a BOBO strap isn't too concerning for me if I really start using this thing. I did not order a BSB (maybe there is hope for my sickness after all :) I had no interest in a smaller FOV and GLARE (I HATE GLARE), so I passed on it, plus my checkbook is bleeding from all this so it needs some time to recover. Thanks for watching as always and let me know the date of our first meeting. I think we call it "VR Addicts Anonymous", I think that has a nice ring to it.
@@GYGOtvI may need extra time in "VR Addicts Anonymous" I ordered a BSB in July after some of the improvements. Will see how the glare is, doesn't seem to bug people to the point of returning it. FOV seems to be improved for some but not all. Will see what my recovery plan looks like in 2024 lol.. Look forward to the next video!
Can you test the latency of this vs a Displayport PCVR headset like the G2 or Aero? From the reviews I've seen it looks like the Quest 3 has 45-50ms latency both wired and wireless because of the encoding/decoding that is required. And since you have experience with many VR headsets, do you notice the difference in latency personally?
I'll try to figure out if I can get an actual number for you, but either way I will get a feeling for it and let you know in the review. I can say right now that my initial flight in DCS felt pretty good but let me try some shooters because I bet I would notice the lag a lot more in there. I know the speed of the network and even the quality of the link cable can play a big roll in that so just be aware when you see other people testing it as well. I suspect the issue will be more dependent on the data transfer rate vs. the decoding because of that new Snapdragon chip... but we will see. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks! I know there are many variables. UA-camr "SteveKnows" did some latency tests and low 40's seemed to really be the best he could achieve on the Quest2/3. AV1 vs HEVC codec, Older XR2 vs newer XR2 chip, wired vs wireless. They were all in that range of latency. Although the quality and stability was better on the Quest 3. If displayport headsets can drop that number to
@@Dex2R7That is interesting, I'll have to look that video up. Realistically I don't think you are going to notice a difference between 40ms and 20ms and I don't even think it will impact your game much but will try it out and let everyone know. I haven't researched it, but display port headsets shouldn't really have any latency because you are just displaying the native signal from the video card? There is no encoding/decoding processing to be done. As for the Apple Vision Pro, there is no way I can afford that thing (I personally buy all the headsets I test), and honestly it isn't going to be a gaming headset anyway so it doesn't really fit into what I like to do. Thanks for watching and the comments, you have given me some good ideas to add to my Quest 3 testing.
@@GYGOtv I know it's expensive but you do own some quite expensive headsets so I wasn't sure. Yeah, 40ms to 20ms won't matter in most situations. But I did want to try to play some FPS, and fighting games while using the headset as a display. And you don't have to be pro level to notice 40ms when you're moving a mouse. But those are really novelty use cases. I'm going to go ahead and order the Quest 3 and then look for a cheap G2 in the coming months. The Quest 3 is too good of an all around headset like you said. I'll easily get $500 of entertainment out of it.
@@Dex2R7Yep I've pretty much tapped out my bank account at this point :) So if you decide the get the Quest 3, and want to help me rebuild my coffers... please feel free to use one of my affiliate links in the description. Every little bit helps.
I'm having a hard time on deciding if I want to keep the Quest 3. I'm coming from Rift CV1 =P but having limited time to play is not cool. I seen some aftermarket usb link cable with something you can plug in a charger and play but I'm not sure if it will keep it charged. I think they made a big mistake not allowing PCVR using just using some type of dedicated power adapter to have it work.
Tough call, coming from the CV1, you are talking a significant visual upgrade and if you have a good network you might not even need the link cable and still get good visuals. I'll find out more about the battery life as I test it more but it is certainly my main concern right now too. I hear there are some options to improve it and I'll try to find those out as well. Stay tuned.
Crystal is so much sharper than Q3? How big is the difference? you can see more details can you estimate this how many percentage? And what about the 3d depth perception? Whis is the best?
Crystal visually is still the best, technically the Crystal is 35ppd and the Quest 3 is 25ppd and the difference is visually noticeable. The Crystal does NOT have Screen Door Effect and the Quest 3 does. 3D depth feels like all the other headsets, and in Mixed Reality if feels accurate to the real world. It really comes down to if you want to sacrifice some of the visual quality for a lighter, more comfortable (if you get a better headstrap) experience... and also the difference in price of course. Hope that helps.
@@kennethwilliams9668 I hate to correct you, but Screen Door Effect has to do more with the panel resolution, not lens type, and Yes the Quest 3 Does have Screen Door Effect!
Ouch, that problem with the battery life is huge... Aside from that, it sounds very much like my experience with the Pico 4. Huge lenses and feels like a generational leap forward from the 2020-2021 headsets. Though, the passthrough with the Pico is just for convenience. Not mixed reality experiences. The Pico is able to play indefinitely without battery drain, if you keep it plugged in or use the BoboVR battery pack/strap. Once you experience high quality wireless PCVR it's hard not to think wireless is the future. I think with a 6e connection or a dedicated dongle it will be a no brainer.
I agree completely jimmy, I've been wireless on the Vive Pro for years and won't go back to tethered. Now I guess whether you think the Vive Pro is a "high quality" experience is up for debate :) I'm hoping for a good wireless solution on the Pimax Crystal (in fact that is the main reason I bought that headset) but I can honestly say I'm starting to think the Quest 3 might be a better option for that if I can get the battery life to last a little longer. I guess time will tell. Thanks for the comment.
I think the PSVR 2 is going to give you better games than the Stand Alone Quest 3. The PCVR 2 uses eye tracking and Dynamic Foveated Rendering to really push the hardware vs. the Quest 3's mobile chip. I guess the only advantage for the Quest 3 is that it is wireless and can do PCVR, so I guess it depends how much that matters to you. Thanks for the question, and if you do end up with a Quest 3, please come back and let us know what you think.
@@Justinmiller-l5uI think that is a great choice, and then once you run out of PSVR2 games, you can think about getting the Quest 3 at that point. Maybe it will even be cheaper or have a little more base storage. Who knows, but thanks for the comment!
The biggest issue for me is the black level, especially since as soon as you boot it up it goes to a black screen with just the logo. It’s really noticeable and likely a factor because they needed screens with immense brightness capability due to the pancake lenses.
Hi Cujobob, well if you have watched my channel for very long you know I LOVE deep black levels so I agree with you on how important they are. To be honest however, since seeing how badly even the local dimming does for this (in the Crystal), I'm convinced the only way to get the black levels where we would like them is with OLED screens. The nice thing about the Quest 3 is that it at least has an easy to access brightness control and I was able to get the blacks dark enough to at least enjoy the experience. I'd love to see a headset like this use OLEDs (The Big Screen Beyond does, but the FOV is small and it has glare), but I haven't heard of any coming soon that will do that. Finger's crossed that someday we get our OLED screens back in VR. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
I have a reverb g2 but I hate the WMR controllers and how they aren’t always very compatible with games, and re-mapping them is difficult / impossible. With the better lenses and controller compatibility of the quest 3 do you think it would be a good “moderate” change for a year while waiting for next-gen PC VR? Visually what’s quest 3 look like VS reverb g2?
Hi biosliege, that is the exact question I've been asking myself as both have pros and cons. Obviously the G2 does not have visible screendoor while the Q3 does. The G2 also has the benefit of the Display Port which gives it the best possible signal vs. the data stream that the Q3 uses via USB-C or Network. And then the big one, those Pancake lenses are edge to edge clarity vs. the G2's Fresnel lenses. If you are putting me on the spot, right now, I'd say the G2 is still better for Sim type games but I think the Quest 3 would be a better experience for more casual games... especially with the controllers being more standard on the Quest. I hope that helps and stay tuned, after more testing I might have a better answer for you.
@GYGOtv Thanks! I love your channel and value your opinion. Like you mentioned in this video, some of this is a bit subjective for each user, and I'll keep that in mind. I never thought I'd be in a position where I may be running more than one headset at a time, but here I am! Even though quest 3 may not totally work out for me for all scenarios, I feel compelled to try it: Too many pros and not enough cons. Even if it isn't the best for sims, it really would be nice just for a casual headset to play other stuff with a lot less hassle. I am also very curious to try the better lenses. All that I really know is fresnel. I'll probably just buy virtual desktop on the meta store, and then keep buying PC VR games and stream them, since my ultimate focus is the best quality possible within my budget. I see some folks use battery packs to extend the play time. Bigscreen beyond tempts me, but I don't have lighthouses, and I live in a hot/humid area and not sure about the facial interface, so I'll wait and see how that develops. I'm clearly a PC VR person looking for an interesting stop-gap and an occasional fun diversion, and this may well fit that bill better than current alternatives. My first headset was the Quest 1, prior to the G2. Ever since switching to WMR on the G2, I enjoyed the quality visual upgrade, but really miss the wonderful Oculus/Meta tools/apps/environment and controllers. Thanks again!
I was in the same boat, I have a G2 and was on the fence about getting the Quest 3. Ended up taking the plunge and I don’t regret it one bit. The lenses truly are game changing. Even if the resolution isn’t quite the same, I’d honestly be hard pressed to notice unless I had both headsets side by side to compare. But the increase in clarity across the whole FOV is immediately noticeable. Not to mention the general ease-of-use is so much better. I can just pop it on and use my hands to open Virtual Desktop. With how good the passthrough is, I can stand up and walk around the room, check my phone, pet the dog, etc. without having to take it off. And for casual VR games, the controller tracking, haptics, and overall wirelessness blows the G2 out of the water.
@@beosliegeWell thank you for your trust in the channel, it is really appreciated. Going to non-fresnel lenses will likely be a huge improvement for you, even with the slight screen door effect. I would love to hear your opinion if you go that route. So the link in the description is for the Meta Store if you want to pick up Virtual Desktop... it is supposed to be 25% off since I bought it already so might save you a few bucks. I also think the Quest 3 will likely be fine for sims as I really enjoyed my DCS Flight the other night... again my big concern is the battery life and we will see how that works out as I test more. I have planned to try my battery packs from my Vive Pro wireless setup but I don't know how much life that will add yet. Based on your comment, I think the Quest 3 might be that "stop-gap" you are looking for. If you want to help out the channel, please use either our Amazon Affiliate or I have a link that goes directly to Meta too. I would really appreciate it. Thanks again for watching!
I strictly use VR for Microsoft flight simulator and with a quest maybe the Wonder program and that is it. I always enjoy your reviews and other review said that they would not get a quest 3 if they already had a Reverb G2 which I do have. I was really having high hopes to move away from my G2 to get the pancake lenses. Really wish they did have a DP port but hey what can you do. I would definitely be plugging it in as I am running an i7 with a r t x 3070 and 32GB of memory. So I need all the help I can get. Also others have complained about the screen door effect should this bother me and Microsoft flight simulator? Thank you once again for all your very thorough answer you always give me.
Hi nashfan, this seems to be the question of the day and again I've only started testing but let me see if I can offer some advice. To be honest, I think if you are just doing MSFS, I'd probably steer you toward the Varjo Aero. It gives you the best of both worlds, with the only downsides being the need for Lighthouses and obviously the limited vertical FOV. It might end up costing a little more, but I think the experience for your situation would be best. Lighthouses are not that hard to set up and the lighthouse tracking is the best out of all the headsets. The best part is you can expect about the same performance from the Aero as you are currently getting from the HPG2 (infact I actually got slightly better performance from the Aero). Anyway, I hope that helps... please let me know if you have additional concerns about the Aero or any other questions I might be able to help you with.
@@GYGOtvonce again thank you for your kind and thorough response. Was hoping for the lower price of the quest 3 and also stand alone with no lighthouses. And also kind of like the idea of being able to open menus with hand gestures. I will continue to watch and see if you come up with any other opinions on the quest 3. Again thank you for the response
@@GYGOtvI guess I should have added that I was looking forward to the smaller size of it. Sure wish they had put a DisplayPort instead of a USB C port. Can't understand why they did not
@@nashfan1000Honestly PCVR isn't where Meta makes most of their money IMO. The stand alone stuff and the accessories is where it is for them. Still for your situation I think the Aero is a better choice but obviously that is up to you. I highly doubt a Quest Headset will ever have a display port. One other thing that you might wait for if you don't live in the USA is the rumored new Pico 5 Max I think it is called. It will basically be a Quest 3 with a display port, it just isn't officially supported here in the States.
The default headstrap is horrible and battery life is too low (i suggest to remove the passthrough "home" and make the virtual one in customizations), so you are forced to buy an aftermarket headstrap with power banks. I'm also having issues with PCVR via a USB 3.0. I tested the cable many times, it says it's fine, i tested my pc with the steamvr performance test same thing but when i play i get a lot of lag, screen tearing, etc. I tried to change the Hz, the resolutions, etc nothing. I don't know what's the problem, maybe because i use a 2k monitor with 250hz?
Yeah it's almost like they want you to spend more money on their upgraded head straps :-) I wish I could help you on your problems but I'm new to this and am learning it myself. Any other viewers out there that can help with BigBoss' issues?
@@valrondI've heard that is an amazing headstrap and even has a removable battery right? I'm slowly learning about all this Quest stuff so thanks for the advice.
Hi gaming-fuel6250, I've been putting together my thoughts on that. I think it comes down to 2 things, do you already have lighthouses and controllers or will you need those too? Second, how important is the vertical FOV to you? If you already have lighthouses/controllers and the vertical FOV isn't as big a deal then I think the Aero is a better experience. There is no screen door effect and you have a direct connection to your PC's display port and you even have that cooling fan that helps keep your lenses from fogging up in the Aero and keeps your face cooler. If however, you would have to also buy lighthouses and controllers then I think the Quest 3 is the best option. It gives you almost as good of visuals as the Aero and is lighter and cheaper too. You will have to contend with the limited battery life so you'll want to either get external batteries to plug into the USB-C on the headset, or look at a headstrap that has more power, or you can just plug directly into the PC or Wall Adapter to get a little more juice. I'm personally looking at the Bobo M3 (whenever it comes out) because I love the hot swap battery design it uses. I guess one final thing to consider would be how good is your router and wifi in your house. With my wifi 5 I'm getting great visuals with Virtual Desktop, but if you have an older or congested network you will certainly not get as good of visuals with the Quest 3. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks for watching.
This is strange. I never saw any screen door effect in my quest 3 or the weird fov. Everything is normal for me. I think person to person is different. Or maybe because you use glasses, you normally have less fov and see the edge of screen more compared to people without glasses. 🤔
Well I was wearing contact lenses so that probably wasn't it. I think some people might just be more sensitive to things like that than others. The SDE is definitely there for me. The FOV thing is something you don't really notice unless you look for it, it is just something I've gotten used to looking at having tried all these different headsets. It in no way impacts the VR experience for me. Anyway, I'm glad you don't see the SDE. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I think the only thing other than the fact that the quest 3 is very uncomfortable and will need multiple accessories however the quest to I had I could not bear the controller's the pairing was a real problem for PC VR DCS Etc is there any problems pairing the controllers
I haven't had any pairing issues yet. Of course I don't use the controllers in DCS or any of my Sims but they seem to work just fine on everything else. Thanks for the question.
Ouch, have you ever thought about moving the United States :-) it sounds like you guys really have to invest a lot more to enjoy this hobby. I really hope these videos at least help in your purchase decisions since it costs you so much more. Thanks for the comment.
21:15 Your comparison is wrong: The difference with a PC is that the games are stored in the Meta cloud and you can download them as you wish. In no way you can use all the games every day, even if they become 40 GB each. Apple suggests the same way of using their cloud storage, apps even reduce in size if not used for a long time.
Hi jango, well it is kind of the same thing because my PC Games are stored on the Steam Servers but I don't want to take the time to constantly delete and redownload them because I'm low on storage. To me $150 for 4x the storage in the headset is a great value. Of course opinions vary, but those are mine. Thanks for the comment.
@@GYGOtv I agree, for you it is not worth it, for me it is. But still a PC has many other things than games, at least at my age, and those are not stored for free in the cloud like games are. That is what I meant.
@@jango71Ahhh got you. Also please remember I am still new to this whole Quest Stand Alone thing so I appreciate people helping me out. I'm learning :)
Have you had any issues with open XR motion compensation with your DOF rig? OpenXRMC worked great with my G2, but with the Quest 3 it seems to work intermittently and the view in VR seems to snap around to different positions for only a frame or two, while frame rates seem fine. I tried switching to OpenVRMC which worked perfectly, except in steep banks the image seems to go almost cross eyed.
Hi, I actually always got an error in OpenXR MC trying to use my Vive Wand as a tracker so that was a no go for me. Spent several weeks working with Buzzteebear to try and fix it but in the end he thinks its an issue with my specific system. It worked fine with the Witmotion box (except that only compensates for Pitch and Roll.) And worked fine in OpenVR just like yours. I haven't tried it on my Quest 3 yet, but I'll try to give it a shot tomorrow if I get time. What system are you using?
@@GYGOtv Running the DOF P3 with SRS and the witmotion box in MSFS. Really hoping I can get this figured out as Im really impressed with the Q3! Pancake lenses are incredible! I'll have to try some more testing tomorrow.
@@av8rchrisInteresting... you should be fine. I'll test my Witmotion with the Q3 and let you know what I find out. Haven't even tried MSFS yet so that will give me an excuse. Stay tuned.
Hey av8chris, I messed around with the Motion comp most of today and I can't even get mine working in MSFS2020. The tracker is certainly tracking but I must have an issue with the .ini file or something. Ran out of time to troubleshoot but I'll see if I can get back to it later. Just wanted to give you an update.
@@GYGOtv awesome - apreciate you giving it a try. I provided the logs of what was happening on the OxrMC discord and Buzzteebear sees whats going on I think but since he can't reproduce it makes it hard for him to work on it so Ill stick to my G2 for now. I have a close eye on the Bigscreen Beyond headset for simming but was really hoping the Q3 would have been the one and done headset for me.
I still have my valve index and super-sample up to 180, I was really curious how this compared, and it appears it’s just not worth upgrading yet for me, guess I’m still waiting on the index 2! :)
Thanks for the comment and the view. I don't know, The difference that these pancake lenses make I think you'd see a huge difference going to one of the new headsets. Just my personal opinion.
I have both of them and quest 3 pancake lenses and much higher resolution looks a lot better but if you play something like vrchat and need steamvr tracking switching would be troublesome. Bigscreen beyond would probably be the upgrade for index but its $1000.
@@EskoxoI still lean toward the Varjo Aero but both are good choices. The bottom line is modern headsets have pretty much surpassed where the Index is in this day and age... but it did sure take awhile.
It should, I can't see why that would be a problem, it has it's own XR runtime and that is MSFS needs. I've seen Steve the VRFlightSimGuy using it so I'd bet you are ok.
I'm new in VR and the quest 3 are my first, when I have it on there is a sweet spot in the centre of the lenses where the image is sharp, but when I'm moving closer and closer to to the edges of the lenses, the image is getting blurry, also, the controllers in vr are never sharp compering with what is shown on the TV when I cast it. they are always a bit fussy trough the lens, is this normal? is this how VR is? the expectations where a bit high for me because the videos in UA-cam always show sharp image from edge to edge
Welcome to this awesome world Felipe! There really isn't a "Sweet spot" in Pancake lenses like there used to be in the old Frensnel lenses, so everything should look pretty good no matter how you have the headset on. A little distortion and blurriness at the edges is probably normal but if things are blurry in general then there is a problem. My guess would be you might not have your IPD (the distance between your pupils) set properly, you can either get your IPD from your eye doctor, or there are apps to tell you your IPD... or you could just experiment with the little dial and see if the image gets clearer. If not, you might have a defective headset. Keep in mind, VR isn't a perfect representation of the real world, it will always look a bit different, but it shouldn't be really bad. Also, any video you see on UA-cam were captured on the computer unless it is actual through the lens footage, so you can't use that as what the headset really looks like when wearing it. Hope that helps.
I wondered the same thing, but it doesn't look like it right now. Maybe the Flight Sim guys will add that functionality in... that would be so cool! Thanks for the question.
Good that you consider this a generational leap. I had better visual quality several years ago when I bought the HP Reverb (the original) for 440€ when it came out. Sure, it didn't have finger tracking, but it still has better image quality than this because it has a DP. Oh, and the Pico 4 has nearly all the characteristics of the Q3, with pancake lenses, same resolucion, better ergonomics (the thong in the Q2 and 3 is a joke), it is cheaper, and it came out over a year ago. Enjoy your Quest 3.
Thanks for your take as always valrond. So I'd question what you mean by the HP Reverb is "better" because you had fresnel lenses and a pretty small FOV if I remember correctly. Yes it had a display port, but that is what surprised me was the compression wasn't really that noticeable in the Q3 so I certainly wouldn't trade the compression vs. fresnel lenses and smaller fov (but to each their own). As for the Pico, I can't speak to that because it's not officially supported here in the USA but it is my understanding the colors are not as good and it has a smaller fov too. Again, everyone should choose the headset that fits what is important to them, and all I'm trying to do is point these things out so people can decide for themselves. Enjoy your Pico and when the new ones come out I bet they will be even better so I'm glad you have a headset that fits your needs. Appreciate you watching as always.
What Pico doesn't have is all the exclusive games that you will only be able to play on Quest and that's a HUGE difference, mainly the main reason I wouldn't buy a Pico myself. If you only play PCVR then yes, there might be better options for you, I'd personally wait for the Pico Max with DP and its crazy resolution but as far as standalone goes I don't think there's anything better than Quest 3 right now. Also, Meta doesn't give a *** abot PCVR, we're even lucky they have Airlink and allow VD to work but adding a DP port is probably not in their plans now or in the future. Comparing Quest 3 to other devices that do have it is not something they worry about, that's not a part of business they're interested in.
@@GonzaxThanks for the comment Gonzax, it's great to hear from people who have experience with this stuff out there. As for the PCVR side, I know that isn't a big focus for Meta but I know my viewers will be interested, especially if like me they have lots of Steam games that they would want to still use on the Quest 3. I know for me, no PCVR support on the Quest 3 would be a deal breaker for sure. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, absolutely, same for me. I am mostly a PCVR player so an option for PCVR playing is not only welcome but almost mandatory. What I meant to say is that in the end software is king and for most people, those who play all types of games at least, that matters more than having a DP port or not, considering many people don't even have a capable PC for VR and is certainly not any type of priority for Meta. For us who play PCVR mostly and even more for simracers, that option is a must-have and I wish it was included but I don't see it happening in the future in any Meta headset which doesn't change the fact, as the Pico user seemed to suggest, that Quest 3 is still a fantastic headset overall and a real generational leap IMO. If I had to recommend a headset to a new VR user it would be without a doubt the Quest 3.
@@GYGOtv It looks better because the image is crisper and it isn't smeared because of the compression. And that was, I had to check, over FOUR years ago. I was already using 2160x2160. Much better than anything back then and it still holds up pretty well, although I barely use them. I have better things now, heck, I own over 10 VR HMDs now, starting with the HTC Vive. Yeah, you can try to blame the lenses or the FOV, lenses on the reverb were fine, very little godrays and glare, unlike the Index or the Vive Pro 2. The FOV has never bothered me, bit confort has, and the Quest 2 wss the most uncomfortable headset I have ever used, and it was cause I spent some money in a decent solution. For sims, DP is a must compression just kills all of the detail not right in front of you. Anyway, now I use an Aero for sims, everything else just looks like crap compared to it (I haven't tried the Crystal, it was too big and heavy for me).
Hey Vadim!!! I know a guy you could try his headset out if you are curious :) Holy crap, you wont believe your eyes coming from that original Quest!!! I'm glad you still watch all these things!
@@GYGOtv Yeah, I skipped Quest 2 because I didn't feel it was a substantial upgrade over the original. But 3 finally seems like a major leap forward and not just an incremental update.
@@VadimElkind1I can tell you the Quest 3 is quickly becoming my overall favorite headset, certainly a BIG jump over the Quest 2 and might even rival my Pimax for roomscale. Not as good, but WAY more comfortable. It will all depend on how good the Pimax Wireless ends up being. If you are serious about upgrading, the Quest 3 is the one IMO!
Hey Mark, I did not expect you to buy a Quest 3! It's a very solid headset for the money. I've returned mine as I still prefer the Quest Pro for PCVR with its local dimming and better colours, but Quest 3 is better for standalone and mixed reality. The headsets are too similar for me to justify keeping both, but Quest 3 is very good value for the money.
Hey Kevinbrook, I didn't expect to ever buy ANY Quest products but enough of my viewers have an interest in it so I thought I should probably give it a shot. I can honestly say I'm not disappointed as you could probably see in the video. I can see where the Quest 3 is too close to the Quest Pro, that you wouldn't need both. Maybe the Quest 4 will bring a big enough change. Anyway, thanks for the comment and the support as always!
@@GYGOtv they are great as all purpose headsets, that you can take anywhere and do pretty much anything with. I may well buy one again in a few months, I really liked it, I just don't play mobile games or use MR to justify keeping it. @@GYGOtv Amazon didn't turn up to collect today so I still have mine and tempted to get it back out of the box again. My dilemma is I prefer the Pro for PCVR but obviously Quest 3 will be much better for mobile. But having a 13900k, 4090 PC I feel like I'm wasting money if I try mobile. But I also feel I'm missing out if I don't. Have you tried any mobile games yet?
@@kevinbrook7033Just Tales from Galaxies Edge so far, and I'm a Star Wars fan so that thing could probably look like an old Atari 2600 game and I'd still love it.
@@GYGOtv 💯 mate!

@@GYGOtv Thanks and nice review!
Anyway thanks for watching!
bobo is like a hat.. depends on games
@@pastuhdo you know if the Kiwi is more sturdy and stable? I'm assuming you mean the Bobo isn't good for fast movement?
@@BigBossXCV Agreed, I'm expecting one day when singing up with some site, they will ask me for my underwear size! :P
@@jackr.749 You guys are funny! And it's funny because it's probably true :-) thanks for the comment guys.
With regards,
Dave
Hope that helps and please let me know if you have any other questions.

u're definitely right about the horrible battery life. another big letdown is that i can see from the bottom when i wear it.
@GYGOtv I hear you.

What mounts do you use for the fans? Thanks for your videos on the SFU upgrade, I just finished mine, and your videos were very helpful.

@@GYGOtv Thanks this answer
@GYGOtv q3 has Zero Screen Door. It is not present in pancake lense
@@kennethwilliams9668 I hate to correct you, but Screen Door Effect has to do more with the panel resolution, not lens type, and Yes the Quest 3 Does have Screen Door Effect!
Indeed all the Quest have screen door effect. I was quite disappointed by the Pro.
Not sure whether to get one as I have a psvr2 and I find it really good especially with the games coming out I find it really good
I think the PSVR 2 is going to give you better games than the Stand Alone Quest 3.
@@GYGOtv thankyou I don’t use pcvr so I think I stick to psvr2 for now as. Really happy with it anyway and I got sweet spot just right but thanks
@@Justinmiller-l5uI think that is a great choice, and then once you run out of PSVR2 games, you can think about getting the Quest 3 at that point. Maybe it will even be cheaper or have a little more base storage. Who knows, but thanks for the comment!
@@GYGOtv thanks mate
Apple headset.. better prepare your wallet
@@pastuhNope... no interest in that thing! I'm a gamer.
@@gumball20000 Thank you! I ordered one tonight, can’t wait to try it tomorrow.
@@GYGOtvGet a bobovr headstrap. It was the best for the Quest 2.
@@valrondI've heard that is an amazing headstrap and even has a removable battery right? I'm slowly learning about all this Quest stuff so thanks for the advice.
What you think between meta quest 3 vs. Varjo aero ? For simracing and generally?
I just purchased mine for $1000 Australian dollars for the 512 version. The Crystal will cost me $3000
Ouch, have you ever thought about moving the United States :-) it sounds like you guys really have to invest a lot more to enjoy this hobby. I really hope these videos at least help in your purchase decisions since it costs you so much more. Thanks for the comment.
@@GYGOtv yes we are always ripped of here but then again the labour costs etc is very high and alot of protection for employees etc
@@clayton4115Well I certainly hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Grab something with USB PD 18w or up. It'll drop to 80% and sit there.
Thanks for the suggestion... yep need to figure something out, the battery drains too quickly right now.
@@GYGOtv would probably have to try both but i think moled is just too hard to beat with its size and blacks compared to any kind of lcd screens.
@@EskoxoWell I'm certainly not going to argue against OLED :)
Also forgot one point will this work with the Microsoft flight simulator store version?
Does the hand tracking work in flight sims for pressing cockpit buttons?
I wondered the same thing, but it doesn't look like it right now. Maybe the Flight Sim guys will add that functionality in... that would be so cool! Thanks for the question.
great review
Thank you very much for watching it. Appreciate you stopping by the channel and leaving a comment.
Okay, I guess it might be the time to finally upgrade my first-generation Quest 😄
