- "Fighting for dignity, not just identity.”
“I am a Tibetan and I am a law student in India. During an exchange program, I had a layover in Germany. Since I was travelling with an Identity Certificate (IC), a travel document for stateless persons, I was separated from the others and interrogated. The only reason was that I am a refugee. The immigration officers yelled at me, saying that people like me 'make this country dirty.' For the first time, I truly felt what it means to be a refugee. I was numb, unable to respond, standing there shaking, holding my travel document.
Meanwhile, my Indian friend, who was travelling for the same purpose, disappeared somewhere without any issues. It was heartbreaking to face such discrimination.
In that moment, I decided I would advocate for my fellow Tibetans who are denied citizenship, despite being born in India. Honestly, I could easily land a well-paying corporate job, but for me, this isn't about money. It’s about dignity.
I know many other Tibetans who have their own painful stories of facing discrimination, and it breaks my heart.
Currently, I have filed a case along with an Indian lawyer friend of mine, and I am awaiting the outcome. If it succeeds, it could open many doors for other Tibetans like me. I am prepared to appeal to a higher court if it doesn't. One way or another, I won’t give up.”

So proud to have tibetan young girl like her. To chose the career which none of the tibetan have. Out of hundred thousand tibetans. Tibetans were nomadic pre independence but sadly even after Chinese communist occupation tibetan mindset are like nomadic and particularly sheep where one person does nurse rest of them follows which shows they want comfort and satisfaction. They don't want challenges or competition unlike Indians, Chinese, Israelis, Europeans, Americans and even Nepalese and Bhutanese to be scientist doctors lawyers or corporates. Nurses or selling momos or selling Lalas sweaters 😂😂😂

about problem with India Identity certificate in german airport, can you tell me more about this issued, from which country trough germany to India? Which german airport? which kind of visa you held? schengen visa type C? Type C valid for germany? Or Type D visa? India return visa? how long valid india return visa at time of german airport problem? have you held Identity certificate or certificate of identity. are you banned from germany? have you check SIS database Schengen Information System. I was little bit surprised about your story in german airport, many Tibetans with India Identity certificates or certificates of Identity was travel without problem trough german airport Frankfurt and Munich, schengen area entry or exit trough Frankfurt or Munich.

Great interview,I feel sorry as you go through a difficult situation at airport in Germany as you are carrying Indian certificate(IC) Don’t you think you should take some legal action against the immigrant officer at Germany Airport as that person is a racist by using such derogatory comments on you as you are holding a valid document.I am sure you should take legal action to that immigrant officer.
If your both parents born in India then why your parent don’t take Indian citizenship then you can get easily Indian citizenship.
