We have no Borders with CHINA but today CHINA has reached our neck. We INDIANS never understood the importance of TIBET... Especially if our Visionary Leader Nehru had taken right decisions during the time of 1950s, We would never have had border disputes like Galwan, Doklam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Also, India would not have to spend billions of dollars' worth in border security infrastructure and defense expenditures since the 1960s. This is what you call Nehru's Himalayan blunder. Tibetan Special Frontier forces fought and sacrificed their lives for India in 1971 Bangladesh war, Kargil war in the 1990s or capturing Siachen Glacier etc. for they got political asylum in India and is like a paying back to India and besides they know they are fighting against India's enemies whether it is China or Pakistan. nobody supported Tibet as much as India and could be as generous as us. Problem was with the decision making of the erstwhile regime. As an Indian I am not chest beating but we have been a very good host. Politically it's very tough.

I am one of the ardent fans of Smita Prakash Podcast and must admit that for me this has been one of the best and most engaging Podcasts on this channel. It was such an enriching experience to hear from the former PM Lobsang Sangay about the Tibet history and what has been India's role so far and also the dynamics with China. It was the 12th Chogyal of Sikkim, His Majesty Palden Thondup Namgyal who was married to a Tibetan princess when realizing the dangerous situation in Tibet, contacted Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and introduced the 14th Dalai Lama. Thereafter, the Dalai Lama was able to seek refuge in India followed by thousands of Tibetans. Very important.

When the PRC conducted it's first Census in 1953-1954, Mr Dalai Lama submitted for Tibet the figure of 1.27 million to the central government in Beijing, he later went into exile with 80,000 of them in 1959. I wonder where you get your ‘China killed around a million Tibetans' information from? That figure of 1.27 million was given by the dalai lama himself in 1950s, when he was still in good terms with the central government in Beijing, if he thought the figure was wrong, he could have corrected it and submitted another figure and Beijing would have accepted the new figure, but he didn't. In fact if he now thinks that figure was not right he can still object now, but his holiness is quiet about it for more than half a century. He is now living in the so call 'free world', you can reach him easily to ask him if you want, and when you see him ask also how he got appointed by the central government in Chongqing as the 14th Dalai Lama in 1940, search the web for "གསེར་བུམ་སྐྲུག་པ" and read for yourself.

I strongly believe Tibetans are warriors, they were being pressurised to follow non voilence. China used Tibetans in China to pressurise Dalai Lama.
Around 5000 members of Tibet, under Andrung Gompho Tashi who was commander in chief of Tibetan army, had joined Guriella war against China, despite knowing the fact that they are against much bigger Chinese army they kept fighting.
At Nyemo they bravely fought their biggest battle.
Here in this video former Sikyong has accepted that no other countries have supported them like India. At 1:46:40, yet there are narratives run against India.

It was the best thing that His Holiness was received and settled in Dharam Sala It was the Chinas' most brutal Invasion of Tibet. I hope good days are coming to Tibet. We have no Borders with CHINA but today CHINA has reached our neck.
We INDIANS never understood the importance of TIBET...
Especially if our Visionary Leader Nehru had taken right decisions during the time of 1950s, We would never have had border disputes like Galwan, Doklam and Arunachal Pradesh.
The sad fact is that both Nehru n Gandhi were hand picked stooges of the British. Wait for a decade or two, the truth will be well established.
Also, India would not have to spend billions of dollars' worth in border security infrastructure and defense expenditures since the 1960s. This is what you call Nehru's Himalayan blunder. All these money could have raised substantially the living standard of millions and millions of Indian citizens. Ah! that was not to be due to Nehru's fantasy of establishing a cordial relationship with the most deceitful CCP regime of Mao and Zhou.
It's not Nehru's fault that CCP won against the Chinese Nationalist Party.

CCP occupied Xinjiang and Tibet after defeating the Chinese Nationalist Party. Had the CCP lost, Tibet would've been our neighbour. Otherwise, there's nothing anyone could do. BTW, regarding border disputes, yes, that could've been prevented with far better policies.
But, preventing Tibet from getting occupied was impossible.

This is the most illiterate comprehension of international geopolitics I've ever come across.
Even during the post WWII period (1944-49), the US was around 150+ years old country. India wasn't even 1.5+ years old. And, India was a much weaker country with so many states combined together to form one nation. For the first time, India had Tamil Nadu and the NE being the parts of the same entity. All these weren't easy to handle.
It took time.
Now, had Nehru focussed on Tibet instead of what was happening within the country, you guys would've called him stupid not strengthening the country and instead focussing on a foreign war.

I am a farmer residing in a remote village in southern India. From a young age, I have been engrossed in studying the Tibetan predicament. It is truly remarkable how this interview has shed light on the immense hardships, resilience, and strategic planning required for survival. In fact if he now thinks that figure was not right he can still object now, but his holiness is quiet about it for more than half a century. Tibetan Special Frontier forces fought and sacrificed their lives for India in 1971 Bangladesh war, Kargil war in the 1990s or capturing Siachen Glacier etc. for they got political asylum in India and is like a paying back to India and besides they know they are fighting against India's enemies whether it is China or Pakistan. I am one of the ardent fans of Smita Prakash Podcast and must admit that for me this has been one of the best and most engaging Podcasts on this channel. It was such an enriching experience to hear from the former PM Lobsang Sangay about the Tibet history and what has been India's role so far and also the dynamics with China. Dr Lobsang didn't mince words and explained everything like an interesting story for people to understand the complex history. This podcast is very informative even for the Tibetans to know why "the Tibetan government in exile”, is now called Central Tibetan Administration.
@1:35 ANI put across one of the main subject of tibetan issues among Tibetans in exile is non violence and fighting for freedom is the KEY words to emphasize specially in the current situation. Thank you. If LS is not able to answer the matter then consider there’s many more loopholes where you can actually touch to know the issues and cause of Tibet for Tibetans.

India should have never recognised Tibet as part of China. Tibet has always been a separate civilisation, coming under the influence of China from time to time. We must recognise Tibet as a separate nation, recognise CTA, Dalia Lama right to decide his reincarnation and do more for the refugees so they can lead more productive and fulfilling lives.

It was the 12th Chogyal of Sikkim, His Majesty Palden Thondup Namgyal who was married to a Tibetan princess when realizing the dangerous situation in Tibet, contacted Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and introduced the 14th Dalai Lama. Thereafter, the Dalai Lama was able to seek refuge in India followed by thousands of Tibetans. Very important.
