Honestly I kind of love it. I love the shenanigans these players get up to, but sometimes it's also fun to have a scenario where it's like "Naw. The shenanigans won't save you." It helps that it was ultimately a big shenanigan on Brenan's part

I love Brennan unequivocally and unapologetically deciding that "Yes, and" does not exist in the Vulture Dimension. Just this once, NO, they're doing things HIS way 😆
I remember he said in the adventuring party before this episode that the vulture dimension does not exist on any line between good or evil, law or chaos. It solely is concerned with what is and isnt vulture

Brennan is brilliant about knowing when "No, but" is funnier than "Yes, and"

Brennan really said, "I need a way to tell them "No" a bunch of times without making it unfun (for my own sanity)".
I'm impressed that he put up with the incessant begging, bartering, haggling and sheer refusal to take "no" for an answer from a couple players (and eventually the whole table) without just snapping on them.
@mattbriddell9246 It was hilarious the moment the people who voted for "simultaneously" for the lulz realized "Oh shit, those are some actually serious consequences. We are messed up and blew most of our spell slots on fighting sex-bots" and immediately started trying to haggle and backtrack when realizing Brennan wasn't going to let them game the riddle.

Every second, minute, hour, day of effort that Brennan and the team put into this bit was absolutely worth it
My favorite part of this is the confidence Emily has in saying "A crisp $500 bill," something that is not used as currency in the world of Fantasy High, or in the real world either.
Except it is legal tender in the real world it's just discontinued so no new 500 dollar bills are being made. The ones that exist are still legal.

This is DND in it's most quintessential form.
DM has a baby puzzle for babies that the players try to drastically overcomplicate for literally no reason except because they can.
Sometimes we fear all the possibilities. Like when a past DM introduced doppelgängers and changelings 💀 My table was afraid anyone could be the BBEG in disguise, so some of them were paranoid. After getting more experience as a player, I no longer panic this much. I had to learn to just trust my DM and enjoy the experience.
The Vulture King is such a wholesome character. The providing options for riddle answering. The leaning in for the kiss. The very sweet way Brennan says "You passed!" Not to mention the whole riddle just being like "Don't you think vultures are neat?" I love this maybe a god so much 🥲
Honorable mention to the joy in everyone's face when they say "Yay!"
Brennan heard Aabria say ‘You don’t have to get ready if you stay ready’ while GM-ing ACoFaF and really took that to heart for this season

Love how Ally was so adamant about one answerer and then seconds later voted for a simultaneous answer. Truly chaotic.
I had to do a double take, I was so confused about how they somehow had a majority for simultaneous
Much attention is rightfully being paid to how rigid the Vulture King/Brennan was about the rules of the riddle, allowing no shenanigans to derail the ultimate question, but remember that not only did the Intrepid Heroes vote to answer the riddle simultaneously, right before this clip starts the first question the Vulture King asks them is "Will you answer my riddle now or later?" All evidence points to him being a man (vulture?) of his word, which means it was fully within the players' capacity to have one person answer the riddle at a later time and they simply chose not to. Their fate was in their hands.

The buildup is so disproportionate to the punchline, it makes it really funny!
If them trying to find a loophole and Brennan shutting it down was the whole episode I would have been fine with it.

Oddly this felt like Game Changer revenge. Brennan's turn at being the Riddle Master lol. I also kinda picture the vulture kind being played by Sam.
My favorite part is they have the battlemap for the vulture king and dimension ready because they could ABSOLUTELY fuck up the riddle if they didnt get out the chaos with that simulatenously choice
This gives teaching a small group energy. Full on chaos.
All that lead up just for “vultures: yay or nay” 💀 Brennan is so done

All of that build-up to THAT RIDDLE oh my lord, that's amazing.
This is the kind of bit that me, as a DM, would have gone complete theater of the mind for. Not even a 2D map in Roll20 lol. The work they put into this is crazy and appreciated.
It was kind of necessary. Zac mentioned at the end of the episode before this one that he initially felt that Brennan had to bend the rules to save their battle - so showing that the Vulture Dimension existed all along and wasn't just a scramble to help them out was rewarding.
This is the highlight of Gorgug's day for sure 😂

I love how Brennan’s attempt at messing with the team is naturally drawn out by the team and turns into messing with him.

that was riz if watching starstruck has shown me anything it's that murph can be just as chaotic and loves it as much as emily and the rest but generally has to play straight man

Am I the only one whose head exploded watching Brennan countdown on his fingers backwards? I've never seen someone count down starting with the pointer finger and ending with the ring finger instead of the other way around. I thought I was having a stroke!

The Vulture King ie basically the ultimate example of "The Party gets Distracted" from the first time a vulture shows up in season one. I felt like it was literally set up to just mess with the party's indecision and impulse control, caus boi did it do it.
