Hi Mikey! I loved your ditty at the beginning! I have a question on your tutorial...for the brim, the pattern says hdc and you're instructing hdc, but it LOOKS like you're actually making a dc. Am I confused? It HAS been known to happen 🤣
@@kristiebarnes8573 - I went back and watched the beginning again. He’s working the first round in HDC Hon. Remember that a hdc does require the same yarn over that a dc does ( I’m thinking that’s what your brain picked up on was the YO vs seeing him pull thru all three loops on his hook )- anyways take care. waves from Anchorage Alaska ❄️☃️❄️☃️

Thank you for this so much! What a beautiful hat, and it was so easy too. I love how it came out! I used mandala yarn and a 4.25 hook (no size 4) and I chained 80 due to the difference in hook size, worked out to fit an adult, my head is 21.5 inches it fits me. I’m so happy with it too. Thanks Mikey! Great tutorial 🫶
So pretty! I've been a fan of you and your videos for a long time. And I quite enjoy your sense of humor! Thank you for being you and for being here. 💖💕
Hey this is awesome Mikey. I just bought some Roll with it yarn a few days ago and poof! Turns out you just made a video on this hat I wanted to make a few days ago, too!!
Ok this is my take on that stunningly gorg grey yarn ( def resembles an ombré effect ), it looks more like a DK weight than a 4 weight. But regardless it’s a beautiful hat !
Awesome great video, do you have a tutorial on Crochet Twist Top Beanie ? If not could you make one in a rainbow yarn? I'd be happy to pay for a video tutorial like this I seen the a picture on pintrest called that and Id love to learn how to do that. Please let me know
I'm sorry about that. It's one of the mega problems of being online is the access to certain products is limited depending where you live. I believe this is in the USA only. I ordered online as it wasn't sold here in stores in Canada.
I didn't check my gauge. However, I know my own tension pretty well and the hat does fit. I leave it to crocheters to do a gauge check if they need. The gauge given on the pattern is for the particular pattern not the yarn itself.
You can,You have to keep doIng it. It's called practice "Practice Makes Perfect." The more you do it. You will eventually see what you're doing wrong and you will see either a video that will explain why or you'll come up with your own video and you'll be able to help others,Never give up,keep trying.
I always make a ribbed band first. Make sure if fits my head.. usually flat measures 17 inches long. My head is 21 1/2 in. Then I make the body of the hat, increasing stitches on the first row to make the pattern work. For this one. I used a j hook for the band which will fold up 56 rows long of single crochet. Then I used an I hook to make 60 stitches for the body of the hat. Seems to work for me. *shrugs worth a shot!
@@TheCrochetCrowd no it an actual weight etc as it comes in many colours. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Much appreciated. I will try it in the smaller size and see how I get on. 🙂

Thank you The Crochet Crowd, I found it really hard picking up the back loop using 4mm hook, I am using an 8 ply yarn, even tried doing it looser and still same problem so I am going to try the 5mm hook and see how I go

Thanks for your testimonial.
Love your humor and most of the videos. Through your videos and a few others I taught myself to crochet pretty well
Love your hat tutorials. You make them look so easy.
One stitch at a time Nancy.
loves that trick for not twisting the chain!!!
it makes it really easy.
I like all your stitches, I want to learn a lot

That’s profound. Thanks for saying so and allowing me to be free.
I love the twisted Cable hat and this one looks right down my alley!
I love the final look and it's not that hard.
Great pattern thanks Mikey.
Goodie - finally a pattern that inspires me to get back to crocheting. thank you
You’re welcome 😊

Great pattern! Very pretty! Thanks Mikey!
Thank you too!

Yeah it's on the lighter side of #4 medium weight. I agree.

Thank you.I made the same.Wonderful.
Most welcome 😊
I started this one today in between cooking the Thanksgiving meal. Can’t wait ti finish it tomorrow!
Ah you have a lot on the go.
Thank you for sharing I appreciate you. I love this yarn 💖
My pleasure.
I love making hats , this is very pretty , thanks 😊 Paula Long.
My pleasure.
😊 I like really like your “ cable “ pattern 💟🍁🦃👌👍🏼👍🏽
You're welcome.
Love the yarn pity I can't get it over here. Will have to check to see if I can get it delivered from overseas

Awesome. Enjoy your day.
Love this pattern, gonna make a scarf to match. Would be a beautiful stitch for sweaters….hint hint
You should try it. Let us know how you make out. I’m not a clothing designer for sweaters. I don’t have my fashion degree to understand body anatomy.
Looks lovely and I'm going to try making one. Thanks
Hope you enjoy. Have a great Thursday! :D
Could you do a foundation HDC instead? I would think this would be easier so you wouldn't twist the chain. Thanks again for the great tutorial.
You could. Nothing wrong with that.
Great tutorial! Very nice hat!
Thanks so much.
Absolutely love this !
I really enjoyed making my version.
I love it SO MUCH! Thank you so much for sharing!
My pleasure.
You rock Mikey💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Thanks for your encouragement.
If I got a light (3) yarn by accident, do I use the same hook? It’s lion brand mandala sparkle
Try a gauge swatch. IT's the only way to know.
Making the sample with only 30 stitches makes me want to do leg warmers like this.
It’s possible.
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for tutorial
You're welcome 😊
Did you meet gauge with the regular 4 weight yarn? Do you think it’s possible if you didn’t check for tutorial purposes…?
I didn't check my gauge. However, I know my own tension pretty well and the hat does fit. I leave it to crocheters to do a gauge check if they need. The gauge given on the pattern is for the particular pattern not the yarn itself.
@@TheCrochetCrowd awesome. Thank you
I can't make a hat the right size to save my life (it always would fit Shrek no matter what hook size I use) but this would be a fantastic cowl!!!
Me too I either make it too loose or too tight.
Measure measure measure the circumference of the widest part of the head
Try a gauge swatch to help solve that issue. It might work for you to test your tension to know where you are to change your hook size.
You can,You have to keep doIng it. It's called practice

Haha.. love the zinger of the day ❤️.
Wowie, I love this yarn, ME want...where can I get this yarn from? I live in Vancouver, BC. 🌹
Lol. Try searching online. I’m here in Nova Scotia and I need to buy online.
Thank you.. will do. 😊
Fantastic 🥰😄
Thanks.
Hi i love your had its pretty .
Thanks June! :D
How many yards for women size?
I am English so I would like to do this in Aran. What size hook in mm would you suggest please?
I think Aran is just a colour of yarn? Im unsure what size that would be in Canadian measurements. This is a lighter side of #4 medium weight.
@@TheCrochetCrowd no it an actual weight etc as it comes in many colours. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Much appreciated. I will try it in the smaller size and see how I get on. 🙂
@@kazzarob253 sorry about that. Different countries have different meanings.
Can I just check which hook size you actually use?

It's my invisalign in my mouth to straighten my teeth. I get a lot of questions on that.
