Taylor's drumming certainly fit the exotic music that only Queen could produce. Wild and clean all at the same time!
Totally agree!
So good to see you going strong, you were my favorite online tutor back when you only had 35k subs. I remember videos like, what was is... "metric modulation", "this groove will impress your girlfriend", "3/4 beat"... omg i practiced those hahaha. Sadly i dont play no more. Can't afford to rent a place for studio, but I still play at a friends house few times a year and today it's gonna rumble. Also you taught me the half time shuffle groove hahaha XD I still know how to play it but it's useless XDDDDD none of my guitarist friends can groove to it. Ai m8. Hava a nice 1.
There’s also a faster version of “We Will Rock You” that the band would open their shows with. If you haven’t already, I would highly suggest getting a copy of Queen On Fire - Live at the Bowl! That entire concert is just amazing!
Great job breaking down Taylor's parts. He is underrated and his sound (and playing) were influential. Thanks
Thanks!
Fun facts, along with drum beats…win win ❤
Excellent video....always felt he was underrated. Saw Queen in 2017 and he was incredible. Any chance to do a video of Larry Mullen Jr?
My first drumming inspiration
He's a very unique drummer once you start digging in
I only have a TD12 at home that others use, if I want to actually learn, should I buy a real kit?
1:29 the reason is that they didn’t like all the BBC people on Top of the Pops telling them what to do. If you look at their filmed performance of “Killer Queen”, for example, they had Roger Taylor tape the bottom of one of his cymbals which completely killed the tone. Roger in particular hated that experience.
Critics calling more of that jazz a let down... Bro, that is literally master of puppets before master of puppets:)
It would have been cool to have them played at a slow tempo too, some cool grooves there for sure
I'll keep that in mind for future vids...thanks for the feedback my friend!
I could be wrong but, I think the Beatles were doing videos before Queen.
I think there’s a technicality in there somewhere. Most people will say Bohemian Rhapsody is the first music video, and that The Beatles made promotional videos. I don’t personally understand the difference. But, since Queen and The Beatles are my two obsessions, I’m happy for them EACH to be given this award regularly! 😉
chic is pronounced "sheek"
Queen is my favorite band! I love this so much. I can hear the songs in my head. And Vanilla Ice totally ripped off that song. "Under Pressure" is Queen and David Bowie. Period.
Missing Somebody to love. Criminal
Dragon Attack
Correction! Queen is the Greatest Rock and Roll band of all time!
They have so many incredible songs
Riiight haha
Chic =/= chick!
Queen are massively overrated and so is roger taylor!
I 100% disagree...but that's what makes music so great. We all have preferences.
Calling everything overrated is overrated 👋
I always acknowledge a band’s or an artist’s achievements, even if I don’t like them. Dislike and disrespect are two very different things…
