Thank you so much, Andrew! Your video was incredibly helpful. I just have one question: Suppose I'm using a 1-day-view and a 7-day-click attribution window for analyzing performance data. Let's say I'm looking at the performance data for September 5th, and I see that there are 2 conversions for Ad A. Now, if I revisit the same performance data on a later date, like September 15th, is it possible for the number of conversions attributed to Ad A on September 5th to change due to the 7-day click attribution window? What I'm trying to clarify is whether, once a conversion is attributed to an ad on a specific day, the number of conversions for that day could increase when viewing the report on different days, all because of the attribution window. Thanks a lot for your help!
it seems that FB has removed the attribution options (bottom right of the manager). This was a great video - any chance of an update past the IOS 14.5 issue?
Wow, just wow. I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to Facebook ads but this was so clear and beautifully presented, I had no problem whatsoever understanding everything you said in the video. You also managed to answer every question I had coming into the video. Thank you. Will definitely be watching more of your content.
Woah, Andrew! I've never felt ready to try Facebook ads but your videos really make me want to try. You explain everything so well and I hadn't even considered FB could potentially take credit for sales it didn't really drive. Also props on the video editing, it was so well done!! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks Andrew, that was a fantastic lesson. My question is "If our sales funnel is set up to lead from optin, to receiving a call, to booking an appointment, to showing up, then having a presentation, and then buying, would it be correct that we can only use the Ad Manager track "conversion" up to the optin. If this the case, are there tech solutions to attribute the sale to the ad (or last seen ad)? I hope that makes sense.
You can track the different steps. Just use a different conversion event for each step. Then you'll be able to see exactly how many opt-ins, appointments, purchases you've got from your ads. You just have to select one to optimise for at the ad set level.
For Lead Generation, we cant choose the attribution windows.. any ways? 3 of my adset, 2 shows 7-day click or 1-day view another one showing 7 days click... not sure why
Great content, thanks Andrew! I've been a fan of yours for some while. Have you managed to figure out a way to understand which day the sale came on? For example, when using a 7 day lookback window, the sale could show that it came 6 days ago, as that's the last touch point, but the sale actually took place today. Is there a way to figure out what day the sale came on?
Thanks so much! 😀 The only way I've found is via the API. I use Supermetrics with Google Data Studio to create reports, and because Supermetrics pulls data from the API it actually gives the option to view purchases based on when the sale occurred vs. when they clicked the ad.
Hi from last 7 days my Facebook sales went down dramatically because of this iOS changes can you help me out how to solve with nee setting if do u have any classes for this I am interested to joint
Hi there. Thanks for the amazing video! Was wondering if you could advise as I keep getting this notice "This ad account is already assigned to another Line of Business". However I do not have any existing lines of businesses and its my first time setting up FB attribution. Can anyone advise? Thanks!
Hey Daniel. That’s a strange one. Is it possible your ad account has been added to a line of business in another business manager? (Maybe someone you’ve worked with in the past).
Hi Andrew, i'm getting this error, "Attribution Window Is Invalid: Conversion attribution window is an optional (nullable) integer, specifying number of days of click attribution window size. Based on the objectives and optimization goals you have selected, supported values is/are attribution window of 1 day(s)" can you guide me what mistake I made?
Another great video, very well explained. Thanks Andrew, I just subscribed to your channel (no idea why I hadn't done that earlier). I'd like to add one aspect: Let's say someone uses Facebook Ads for lead generation: PDF for email address. And within the next few days or weeks each new subscriber gets pitched a low cost offer. In that case the ad definitely didn't trigger the purchase but might still be credited with the purchase event. In that case this is what I want to happen because I want to know to which extent the initial offer covers the acquisition costs for the lead. :-)
Error: "View-Through Attribution Window Is Invalid - Based on the objectives and optimization goals you have selected, supported combination of click-through and view-through attribution window values are: (1, 0), (7, 0)" how do I fix this??????
I love those sound effects and subtle animations, and love Andrew's oration..pleasant to listen to and follow.
Hey Andrew,
This was very helpful. God bless you man.
Thanks

Cheers! That’s awesome to hear
Never knew attribution doesn't effect optimization. Thanks for clarifying.
These facebook attribution window changes have definitely presented some challenges, so this was super helpful!
Thanks Heath - great to hear it was helpful

I rarely subscribe to youtube videos but that was so clear, I did. Facebook ads have been confusing at times:)
Thanks Amy! Glad it helped :)

Hello Andrew,
I just launched 10 adsets with a $10 daily budget, and I selected 1-day click. Do you think it is a good choice?

I still have a question. So what is the best attribution for prospecting and retargeting? I'm still confused.

absolutely love this man!

Glad you enjoyed it Yasir!
great video!
Thanks!
1 day view means buying directly from the website and not clicking on the actual ad showed on fb?
That’s right. Viewing the ad but not clicking it
Did they remove it??
Error: "View-Through Attribution Window Is Invalid - Based on the objectives and optimization goals you have selected, supported combination of click-through and view-through attribution window values are: (1, 0), (7, 0)" how do I fix this??????
You need to change the attribution window to 1 or 7 days. 28 day is no longer supported
love u bro
🙌
I love Koala bears!
haha! Who doesn't? 😂
Love your content but please disable all the clicking sound in your future video. It‘s really annoying.
Thanks for the feedback
I think Facebook removing that comparing I am not seeing it anymore
