And this is what I call a trully flawless mission! With two nasty pods active (starting 12:50) in such tight quarters, VIP in the way and The Hunter on top of it, I cannot imagine our guys not getting shot, even with RNGeesus on our side :)
Good mission for the mimic beacon. The enemy templar is unbalanced though. Return fire, immune to overwatch, momentum, parry, 2 armor, and more health than your units.
Yeah, the only thing that makes templars remotely balanced in the game is that the player at least has to be careful about moving too aggressively and triggering more enemies pods. But the enemy doesn't have to worry about that, their templar can go all out each turn with no fear because we're the only opponents on the map. Still, I feel like I can't complain too much because it is a mirror of something we also have access to and we did choose to mod the game to increase the challenge.
Really enjoying the series. I’m curious how Syken and you are going to share the load of the Story missions (Blacksite, Forge, Gate, Final mission). I think it would be interesting to watch you both commenting on the run and discussion the potential strategies for engaging pods. But I guess that could come down to both of your schedules?
I have similar thoughts. I think it would be cool if they both do the final mission, so we get to see both approaches. As in Syken records his run and TapCat records his run and we get to see them both. I'm assuming that they are just sharing a save file between them, so that probably wouldn't work for the earlier story missions.
We had a plan from the beginning that I'd open the series and he'd close it. But not so much with the stuff in between, that went more with the flow of campaign. But you will get to see both of us do some of the mid-game story missions and there will be a video after the final mission where we talk about our experience with the campaign.
With the dragon rounds shenanigans, I guess you'll at least have an easier time killing lost brutes. Not sure how great that is though considering how advanced your weapons are.
Looks like the bug with the evac all and the game thinks the vip died has been fixed! Also @tapcat, I could be wrong about this, but I think suppression in these new classes are much better because they also stop enemies from using special abilities. Good to use in a pinch, and also I believes stacks with shredding when you get the ability that allows suppression to deal damage. Good to shred a group of enemies in one go. In short, I think suppression in these classes are more useful than in vanilla xcom2 :)

Yes, but I have to admit that I completely lost sight of that in the heat of the moment. The turns had been counting down all the way to 1 and my brain was screaming at me to get out ASAP so that's what I did. But, honestly, it wouldn't have mattered because I had no desire to give either him or a pod of reinforcements a chance to inflict more wounds on the squad. Even now that I realize we could have stayed, I have no regrets about leaving.

Can you carry a VIP forward with one agent, up to 2nd agent who is closer to the goal, and put the VIP down for the 2nd agent to pick up and get a double carry forward, like a relay race?
Comfort in the form of XCOM 2 and wonderful creators☺️👌🏼

Thank you, that high praise indeed!
Missed 98% and 90% back to back? Boy oh boy, the gods of RNG owe you big time. Still, a very good outcome in the face of aggravation. Good vid
I don't think I even noticed that one of the misses had a 98% chance, probably better that way!
Yes, TapCat and XCOM 2

I see that you had some rough RNG here, good to see that you recovered from it :)
I took a page from your book and got out while I could!

Yeah, I would have been so much happier with Talon Rounds or the armor piercing ammo but that's XCOM!

I hate to say it, but I think I just got lucky with the bug... unless one of our bug-fix mods took care of it in the background.

I feel like their templar is slightly better than any templar I've ever had because they do seem to have all the best abilities.
Doesn't having the Chosen active pause the mission timer?
It's supposed to

An easy thing to do, especially if you're a little flustered already!
Woot!
Don't be greedy TapCat, let advent play with their own templars as well. Sharing is nice!
But sometimes painful as well... templars are strong!
@@TapCatAgreed, Advent have enough advantages as it is, giving them more just seems unfair.
At least they don't have their own reapers (right?)

You could, but you lose an action every time you pick him up so I'm not sure how often it would benefit you.
@@TapCat thanks!
Great episode! The revange of the VIP. I hope your camera it's ok! Thanks TapCat!
Thanks. The camera was fine afterwards. For some reason, it just stopped recording during this session but I haven't had an issue with it since.
