    0:30 Quick thing I wanted to point out. For those who are confused about the middle drawing you see ,its a breakdown drawing! Notice how its in the middle and it transitions to the next pose. Also. Remember this. The closer the drawings are,animate them on 2's.(Slow movement) The further apart they are,animate them on 1's. (Fast movement) Hope this helps :)

    Alan, you're blowing my mind with these tutorials. Thank you so much. Every day I watch a new one and make a flash file imitating the lesson learned, and what you taught here with the Skew and and in betweens along with what I've learned from Follow Through and Pose To Pose will definitely help in improving the quality of my animations. Thank you once again. Your way of explaining is really to the point and the examples are very easy to follow.

    In interactive design, I've read, they also recommend the adjust the movement curve so that the ease in is quicker than the ease out. So when you slide open a toolbar, it reacts to the finger swipe quickly and then slowly settles into the final position.

    My animations are always choppy cause it's hard to draw things the same size every frame. How can I stop that?

    • @AlanBeckerTutorials
      @AlanBeckerTutorials  9 років тому +114

      make sure you have some kind of onion skin turned on so you can see the frame before. also if there's one thing that doesn't change frame to frame, copy/paste it. i always do that with my stick figure heads.

      Sometimes it's a bit easier to break down what you're animating into primitive 3d shapes. Think in 3D, try to break things down into spheres, cubes, cylinders instead of circles, squares and rectangles! hope this helps :]

    Strangely enough,. I knew some of this from an understanding of something called proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (usually shortened to PNF) a subset of biomechanics, but this actually explains the processes a lot more simply and a lot more clearly. how would you draw a slo mo shot of someone doing something impressive, like jumping. just a lot of frames?

    • @skealla5372

      Yes. Specifically, draw the keys and then fill them with lots of in-betweens.

    • @itsnihliz
      @itsnihliz 4 роки тому

      The animation would have to be at 24 fps or more, so the animation looks very smooth and gives the feeling that is an actual slow mo
      Edit: oh I was very wrong, look at the reply below lol

    • @skealla5372
      @skealla5372 4 роки тому +1

      @@itsnihliz Actually 12 fps or below is more smoother when it comes to slow/slow motion actions. Because when you have a lot of frames in a slow mo cut, it will look weird because your character would keep changing shapes and become inconsistent with other frames
