      Because how can a human not pursue happiness? It's within our nature to do so.
      Everything we do has happiness as its goal, but unfortunately happiness is not a goal that can be reached. So life is just a never ending hunt for happiness, as it's always been for everyone.

      @@myfairlady343 of course you can experience some pleasures in life, but they are not happiness, or, if you will, they're just short-term happiness. So after a short while, we're still on the hunt. We're never fulfilled and we always seek more, and that's what keeps us going.
      This at least is my opinion, then ofc you can call it bs how much you want

      brother, I am an engineer too. Please, do not feel disheartened. Happiness comes through the fact that no matter what is happening you always have a choice. Being an engineer might have been bestowed upon you but in every moment you have a choice to get out of it. Of course, you have to face the consequences of your choices but it all ends in death, no matter what you do the end state cannot be changed. Even when you die fearing hell, you won't be there to experience it, at least not as you. So how to be happy? Just change your perspective.... When you feel no stimulation, like when you are meditating......there is a type of meditation where you sit and try to feel everything, the frustration, sadness, happiness....whatever you are feeling during meditation you explore that feeling till you exhaust all the feelings to feel and you cannot feel anything further. After getting up from this kind of meditation you will welcome all sorts of experiences.... even pain......to some extent. Because the absence of any feeling is worse than bad feelings. This would not mean death is bad.....because if there is no one to feel there wouldn't be anyone to feel the absence of feeling.

      It doesn't symbolize anything related to software/technology or engineering. Rather, it is an example of burden of overwork and the pursuit of materialism which causes one to be bound to one's workspace and spares one with little room to relax or enjoy.

  • @Alexis01111
    @Alexis01111 5 днів тому +6

    While the video highlights the dangers of consumer society and the endless pursuit of material possessions as a source of happiness, it's important to note that happiness isn't solely defined by these things. In fact, the search for meaning in life, authentic human connections, practicing gratitude, and personal fulfillment all play a key role in our well-being. Happiness is not just about accumulating objects or getting likes on social media, but rather about finding a balance between inner satisfaction and harmony with ourselves and others. The video encourages us to reflect on our priorities, but it’s essential to remember that happiness can also be found in simple moments, far from material excess.

      This makes so much of sense. because you know that after taking/keeping happyness as a top priority in life, we then try to consciously try to be more happy is the point where it starts that you constantly keep getting away from being happy.

    • @Corgi_fax
      @Corgi_fax 15 днів тому

      Shit's deep I fw it but the statement is inherently contradictory.
      Because if something is a goal(implying that it is not achieved), that means something is not present or missing.
      Unless you assume goals can exist even though if they are achieved, which in that case it's better to word it as ideal.
      Ideal state is closer to a general policy, a direction and compass.
      So we head towards happiness because we know that's not achievable state but we use it as a guide.
      Just like it is delusional to assume something like north is a specific place, to expect happiness is a real feeling is delusional.

    My great teacher told me this a long time ago.
    Fine jewels. Fine clothes and fine features. None of these things give you happiness in life. They're just distractions along the way. True happiness comes from the little things in life. It comes from the things people dont pay attention to. Thats why we call them regrets after they are gone.

    • @nafiurrahmankhadem7178
      @nafiurrahmankhadem7178 3 роки тому +18

      Happiness is what someone defines it to be and what his/her mind is attracted to and there are people whose minds are attracted more to fine clothes than those little things in life, so that's what happiness is to them. There are limited time and opportunities in life, so there are always some things we miss and so we feel unsatisfied and blame our desires. But in reality, desires and having something new to look forward to keep life from getting boring. We don't look forward to those simple things as they are not intreresting to our mind anymore. But yeah, if someone is good at fooling his mind, he can be happy with having/doing the same thing everyday.

Leaping from tree to tree. Never finding the fruit. Treading from life to life. Never finding happiness.

    "You are always seeking pleasure, avoiding pain, always after happiness and peace. Don’t you see that it is your very search for happiness that makes you feel miserable? Try the other way: indifferent to pain and pleasure, neither asking, nor refusing, give all your attention to the level on which ‘I am’ is timelessly present. Soon you will realize that peace and happiness are in your very nature and it is only seeking them through some particular channels, that disturbs. Avoid the disturbance, that is all."

    • @TATFoundation
      @TATFoundation 3 роки тому +25

      @@jacobwhitus3715 We may be working with different definitions of happiness :) When Nisargadatta referred to "happiness", he meant a temporary state. In 'I Am That' he says "the happiness you can think of and long for, is mere physical or mental satisfaction. Such sensory or mental pleasure is not the real, the absolute happiness". He asked people to look inward for a higher self that is not dependent on our ideas & beliefs, or contingent on subjective external identities . Something deeper than "I am XYZ nationality, occupation, personality traits, fan of this sports team, etc". He said "True happiness cannot be found in things that change and pass away. Pleasure and pain alternate inexorably. Happiness comes from the self and can be found in the self only. Find your real self (swarupa or 'true nature') and all else will come with it."
