This makes so much of sense. because you know that after taking/keeping happyness as a top priority in life, we then try to consciously try to be more happy is the point where it starts that you constantly keep getting away from being happy.
Shit's deep I fw it but the statement is inherently contradictory. Because if something is a goal(implying that it is not achieved), that means something is not present or missing. Unless you assume goals can exist even though if they are achieved, which in that case it's better to word it as ideal. Ideal state is closer to a general policy, a direction and compass. So we head towards happiness because we know that's not achievable state but we use it as a guide. Just like it is delusional to assume something like north is a specific place, to expect happiness is a real feeling is delusional.

@@dajanacoric1241 Reminded me. Alan Watts suggests there is no ultimate meaning of life, but that "the quality of our state of mind" defines meaning for us. @@bafbegagglestick6241 you are right, by the current society I don’t mean the very recent times, I actually mean the modern era and the capitalist society.
The pursuit of happiness is a fool’s errand. I find that great stability is found in the mere absence of suffering. The average state of mind should not be feared, as it has a comfort all its own.
My great teacher told me this a long time ago. Fine jewels. Fine clothes and fine features. None of these things give you happiness in life. They're just distractions along the way. True happiness comes from the little things in life. It comes from the things people dont pay attention to. Thats why we call them regrets after they are gone.
Happiness is what someone defines it to be and what his/her mind is attracted to and there are people whose minds are attracted more to fine clothes than those little things in life, so that's what happiness is to them. There are limited time and opportunities in life, so there are always some things we miss and so we feel unsatisfied and blame our desires. But in reality, desires and having something new to look forward to keep life from getting boring. We don't look forward to those simple things as they are not intreresting to our mind anymore. But yeah, if someone is good at fooling his mind, he can be happy with having/doing the same thing everyday.

Leaping from tree to tree. Never finding the fruit. Treading from life to life. Never finding happiness.
"You are always seeking pleasure, avoiding pain, always after happiness and peace. Don’t you see that it is your very search for happiness that makes you feel miserable? Try the other way: indifferent to pain and pleasure, neither asking, nor refusing, give all your attention to the level on which ‘I am’ is timelessly present. Soon you will realize that peace and happiness are in your very nature and it is only seeking them through some particular channels, that disturbs. In 'I Am That' he says "the happiness you can think of and long for, is mere physical or mental satisfaction. Such sensory or mental pleasure is not the real, the absolute happiness". He asked people to look inward for a higher self that is not dependent on our ideas & beliefs, or contingent on subjective external identities . Something deeper than "I am XYZ nationality, occupation, personality traits, fan of this sports team, etc". He said "True happiness cannot be found in things that change and pass away. Imagine someone saying so mach movements instead of so much movements.....
"Every man is happy until happiness is suddenly a goal”.

"The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves."

@@dajanacoric1241 Reminded me.
Alan Watts suggests there is no ultimate meaning of life, but that "the quality of our state of mind" defines meaning for us. This is in contradiction to the notion that an inner essence is waiting to be discovered. Paying attention to the everyday, mundane objects can become highly significant, filling life with meaning.

@@nafiurrahmankhadem7178 I think both your reply and the original comment have a point. Life, imo, is about setting goals and fighting for them but also enjoying the process. If you do just one thing and not the other (for example, you chase your goals like a maniac but don’t appreciate your journey), then I think you’ll have an unfulfilling life!
@@myrtila I agree with you, but I disagree with the original comment calling goals / desires just distractions along the way. To me, life is about enjoying both current situation and future goals, as much as possible.
I agree, I was poorly for a very long time. 6 weeks ago I had a kidney transplant, I’ve never felt so well, so grateful and so so happy to just be alive.
@@nafiurrahmankhadem7178 What you call happiness. Is not true happiness. It's false happiness, a fleeting happiness. Alone we are born into this world. And quite alone we also meet our death. Even the rich man departs alone in the end. Many people want to find their purpose in life. Most want happiness but want they find instead is sorrow. People are like monkeys. Leaping from tree to tree. Never finding the fruit. Treading from life to life. Never finding happiness.

Rat will die in the end
Yo u want an ending for an endless cycle?!
Avoid the disturbance, that is all."
- Nisargadatta Maharaj, Indian guru of non-dualism (as quoted in the book "I Am That")
Very well spoke
That mentality leads to stagnation. Our society isn't built to accommodate feelings
@@breklaberif7553 Attempting to have a perspective beyond the paradigm of happy/sad is the opposite of stagnation! It takes a tremendous effort to get to a place of no effort 😀 We are hypnotized by our feelings, breaking that hypnotism is part of the equation.
So in order to find happiness you disregard it? Isn’t that ultimately still, at some level, seeking happiness?
@@jacobwhitus3715 We may be working with different definitions of happiness :) When Nisargadatta referred to "happiness", he meant a temporary state. Pleasure and pain alternate inexorably. Happiness comes from the self and can be found in the self only. Find your real self (swarupa or 'true nature') and all else will come with it."
Okay. That was incredible on so many levels. The visual style, and swapping of said style mid-plot, the distortion of the music to set the mood, and those seamless transitions between scenarios. Freaking love this!
