I'll bet Hank Williams never knew how far and wide his songs would spread............A Hank Williams tune played on the pedal steel guitar in ENGLAND, no less BRAVO Dave.
OMG! Is there anything David can't play perfectly? I just love how he dances around the neck in perfect harmony with trilled licks. I love you David! Keep playin that beautiful steel.
Thank God for people like you who keep the sound of the Pedal Steel guitar alive. Sadly country music of today has little to no Steel Guitar. In fact it doesn't even sound like the country music that I remember. You will always be on the top of my list for the great sound of the Pedal Steel and classic country music. Dave, you are 5 stars in my book. Thanks for the wonderful sounds. Best wishes, Wally
It's hard to beat a Hank Williams tune.....I live about 85 miles south of Montgomery, Alabama which Hank considered home. There is a Hank Williams museuem there with some interesting displays of his personal belongings as well as the Cadillac he died in up in West Virginia. Hank had spina bifida which caused him pain constantly, leading to his self medication with alcohol and pain pills.
N o picking 38 years due to wife's death but you brought the joy back,.Four left thumbs now but I can listen good and you are something better than good.you've got the touch all pickers wish for.Thank you so much for the videos,David.
Your phrasing, of the simple melody, of this timeless country classic, is impeccable. Beautiful inflections, in the timing, of the notes, and lush chordal work, flawless. Don Helms himself would thoroughly impressed. And of I am too. Keep gigging Dave.
OMG, David, what talent you have and share with us. How can I thank you enough! I have no musical talent, so extremely grateful for you sharing yours. I LOVE IT, BRO! Ole Johnny B.
Mr Dave... I am so sorry that you are not well. I absolutely love your Steel Guitar playing, it's as though the angels were playing some country tunes. I have listened & listened for a few years, while you blend the strings & chords with amazing play. I liked your music so, that I went & bought me another Pedal Steel Guitar, so I can give it one more try. I've had 4 Sierras, a Deckley, 4 Sho~Buds & 2 MSAs in 40 years. Can I play some tab... yep. Can I play behind somebody... a little bit. But I can't play "Mary Had a Little Lamb", by myself. But I'm gonna give it a try, thanks to you & those other wonderful artists on the Pedal Steel Guitar. Please get well soon, you are an inspiration to thousands of us.
