Been listening to you for a few years, I've always loved good steel playing, but yours is not good, they are super Great! Keep 'em coming, love it much.
Steel guitar is one of only instruments that can genuinely make me cry! This instrument has so much soul, it’s almost like another voice. One thing I’m surprised I didn’t hear more steel players do is use it for harmonizing vocals. Hope you put out another video sometime soon!
I love the steel and want to get one and learn how to play, listening to David Hartley makes it so easy, what a talent this man has for classic country that has been lost in today's so called country music
I haven't played in years but back in the day (early 60's to mid 80's) I had several steel men in my band and I have to say that your one of the best my friend..I also had the pleasure of working with Bud Isaacs for a short time back in the mid 60's in Battle Mountain Nevada and what a wonderful experience that was.."lovin your music"
Anyone that could make a Pedal Steel sound like that, surely has a special heart. He must feel it in his soul. JudyK/Davenport, Ia 75 yrs young and still loving all a Pedal Steel Guitar can offer.
Man what tone and feelings!! makes a tear swell up...I come here about every 6 months just to remember my brother who played music with me..taken way too soon. Thank You..Play on..
It is a sure fact that this man is a genius at playing the steel. By far the best I have ever heard. I could and do sometimes listen to him all night long. His music just takes away all the junk in life. Thanks so very much for sharing with us Dave.
The person that hit dislikes must either be jealous of this awesome rendition or just has fat fingers and missed the cute green hand! Thanks ib for the share. Awesome of my favourite gene Watson tune. :))
Steel Guitar is my very Favorite of all music instruments. The sound almost talks to oneself. It sure touches ones emotions. Before I retired my supervisor Doc Martin, use to play Steel Guitar for Country Singer "Red" Foley many years ago. "Doc" is a perfectionist, so I know he played very well. In fact he said that He invented the foot pedals on Steel Guitars.
The steel guitar is one of my all time fav instruments usually without any accompanying vocals or instruments so you are able to hear just it just beautiful!!! Thank you for another great video
I love to hear him play I have always loved a steel , and even more when they play it like he does he just does it so easy and very precise and that makes a difference L.O.V.E This music just keep it up.
Chaque fois que je vous écoute c'est l'émerveillement , ce son comme je l'ai déja dis est extraordinaire et chacune de vos interprétations me ravis , bravo.
This one of the all time great country songs; your Sho-Bud interpretation is magnificent. I've spent quite a bit of time on your channel on several occasions listening to song after song.
The sound of your showbud is awsome. Can't actually tell the difference from the original tune. Again thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.. Best Regards, Dave in NG NS CAN.
The sho-bud sounds are unique in the hands of this master. Makes the tunes sound so very sweet. Brings back so many great memories of better times.Thank you Dave for sharing your wonderful talent on so many of my favourite tunes..Where are you at momma? " I want to dance"...
This is mysic at its best. There is nothing in earth sweeter that this. This must have been invented in heaven and they are angels themself playing what more dies the world needs to be happy?????🙄
Dave, I have been enjoying your music for some time now. Even bought a pedal steel, trying to convert to it. Not an easy thing to do for us who never played a steel. I've listened to many steel players over the past couple of years trying to pick up some things and can truthfully say NOBODY has the touch like you on a pedal steel. I like John Hughey's very much and others also but Dave I think you are the best I've heard. Please keep the good music coming. I live near Fred Justice in Mesa Az.
Hi Dave I just wanna say how very very thankful I am that you take the time to put this on UA-cam it reminds me so much of my grandpa's house when I grew up and all the boys would come and play their instruments thank you so very much sir you always make my day better!
Look at you tube will tell anyone what David has done and is doing for the steel. Just look at his site relating to tuition, backing tracts and tabs. The time this man is devoting to help us, is just outstanding. Yes Lloyd Green is a favourite of mine but David would also be sort out to back any artist that Lloyd has worked with..... One last word David has done the work and is still doing it.
just started playing the steel and dont know much about it. Can someone tell me if this guy is one of the best in the world. I have listened to every steel player i could on you tube and this guy is flawless. why is he not touring or playing sessions in the states.
Wow, Gene Watson! First time I heard him sing this song I was like, wow this guy can sing!! By the way, I’m from South Pacific Island ( Palau Island ). This type of country music with steel guitar is still the king - 2020.
Your Uncle(Gary) Gene is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and can sing like no other....and loves cars! Hoping he gets inducted into the Country Music HOF....soon!
When Buddy Emmons was developing the Sho-Bud & the Emmons line the technology was closely guarded & pickers were secretive about technique. Thanks to UA-cam, people are now gladly sharing, enabling those who can grasp the multitasking, mind boggling examples, a jump start, or leg up.
The great Cindy Walker, only gone from us a couple of years, wrote "going away party" in the realization that Bob Wills was nearing the end. Look up the amazing poem she wrote for him as he inevitably faded. The double album For the last time says it all, w/ Leon Rausch, in his eighties, singing. Makes you cry?
Hi Dave, I wish I could hear you played A Dear John Letter popularized by Jean Shepard & Ferlin Husky! it's humming in my mind how nice to hear it played by your pedal steel guitar.
How could anyone not like this music
Love your music [and Johns god bless him] all the best, Morgan Mill ,Wellington NZ .
I'm 75 years old. And played in country bands almost 30 years. I think I should know what country should like!

Dave, don't know if I could have survived COVID-19 isolation as well as I have without your music!
Man, that warm sound of a Pro 1! I own a BMI aluminum steel. It just doesn't have "the" sound of a Sho-Bud.
Hi Dave, I wish I could hear you played A Dear John Letter popularized by Jean Shepard & Ferlin Husky! it's humming in my mind how nice to hear it played by your pedal steel guitar.
