Huge difference in prices too. I had 2 sets of K60’s on my 800GS and 1 set on my SuperTenere. Great tires but pricey! Getting Shinko 705’s put on my 650 Versys in May. Can’t believe the difference in pricing for this great tire.
Give me 705's for 99% of real-life riding though. A PAIR for my R1200GS for $160??!! I can't even get a rear for that money for the 'premium' tires. Shinko is by far the most bang for the buck.
You would think but I only get about 3,000 mi on the 705s before the rear is pretty much cooked and the k60s are closer to 9,000-10,000. So is it really more expensive when you cut your tire changing by 2/3?
Man, you hit that ride right. It was a couple inches of wet slop when I rode it. I was on half worn 705’s and they did great. Have heidenau scouts on now, and honestly I don’t like them. On wet they seem to loose traction unpredictability. For something more off road oriented I may try 804/805, or Mitas E07+. TKC80’s perform great, except in life span.
Ed DeBolt. Right you are master Debolt! Currently running k60 scout on front and tractionator on rear. Just bought the Dr 650 so the Vstrom is probably gonna move on. What a great bike it is... Still get to ride my wife's Vstrom so all is gut...

I'm gonna put Shinko 805 n 804 on my wife's Dl650. Currently running a Tractionator and a Heidy. Happy trails!

1,100 mile round trip - gravel
The 705's are 80/20's. K60's about 50/50. Check out the Shinko 804/805 40/60. It's more like TKC 80's but reasonable price.

soft shoulder
SURE THE Heidenau K60'S ARE BETTER THEN THE SHINKO 705 CUZ THEY ARE THREE TIMES AS EXPENSIVE.........CRAZY MONEY FOR THOSE TIRES......
BRIAN ROGERS yup. Having said that, I've got double the mileage out of the Heidi's. Still, ka ching!
From what I've read, the K60's are not very good on wet pavement.
Lifted_Above hmm. i never had any problems, but then I'm not a knee dragger and I don't have 160 hp lol
@@Wildbillsgarage how often we have to change the heidenue.
My front scout has so much thread left but is four years old tire
