Thanks for this review, personally I don’t like the new formula I noticed it doesn’t foam up as much also smells terrible compared to the old formula and if you get it near your mouth leaves a very bad chemical taste. I wish they would bring back the old formula was much better in my opinion.

All other topicals from the dermatologist are not working. Do you have any other Avene suggestions in case the recovery cream is too heavy?

@@aestheticiantrishmccarty1317 yes, perioral dermatitis. I purchased the Cicalfate spray. Applied on my lips, my lips started to tingle. What product tolerance and /or xeraCalm do you recommend? My skin has rejected everything, even topicals from my dermatologist. Currently taking a low dose of doxy 40mg tine release. Your thoughts are most welcomed.

I was just googling about the changes in the cleansing foam so was really helpful to come across your review! I’ve been using Avene cleansing foam for SUCH a long time & straight away noticed the more chemically smell (but I seem to be very sensitive to smells!) and was NOOOOOO they’ve changed it! Originally thought it had gone off because of change in packaging to seal it so helpful to hear your thoughts!
if I got the old version near my eyes/ whilst washing off no problems but with this newer ingredients one I feel like my eyes don’t like it so much & having to be more careful. Wondered if you’d noticed that at all the more you’ve used it?
    Thanks

No I'm surprised because I seem to do better with the newer one. You may like the XeraCalm cleansing oil. I'm starting to prefer it now even before the change. It's more gentle on my skin. I wish companies would leave things alone!.. 😪

    Hey 👋🏻 there!
Thanks for doing these videos on Avene! I’m a new subscriber and it’s nice to get an Aesthetician’s point of view of this brand. I also agree with you about the standards here in America vs. Europe. Absolutely disgusts me how our country allows all these toxic chemicals in our food and personal products!
My skin seems to hate everything and it’s been so hard to find products for my picky skin. I’ve been searching for cleansers and moisturizers. The only moisturizer my skin seems to tolerate that I’ve tried is Avene’s Tolerance Recovery cream. I’ve tried Vanicream’s line, but it wouldn’t be hydrating enough or I’d have a reaction to their hyaluronic acid formula which burned my skin. So, totally new fan of Avene!
Can you use the Avene oil cleanser on its own for cleansing the skin? Or do you have to double cleanse with another cleanser? I’m someone who wears powder makeup or tinted sunscreen occasionally. My skin type is combination/hypersensitive/acne-prone that tends to be surface-dry if my cleanser or routine is too drying.

Hey! Thank you for watching & subscribing!!
I’ve done fine just using the oil cleanser when I’m more dry. I get more oily in the summer and tend to switch it up.
I would say to double cleanse with that same one if you’re wearing sunscreen or very much makeup. Sometimes I don’t have much at all on my face and just do one cleanse and using witch hazel has helped me avoid acne without drying me out! So using that removes anything or cleanser did not. Now, if you wore thick foundation I would definitely suggest double cleanse for sure!
Our country needs so much help!! I’m so frustrated with the regulations!
I used to only use Tolerance recovery but now it seems to clog my chin as I’ve gotten more oily. I do better with skinbetter trio rebalancing cream… it is pricey but has helped me a lot! Very gentle too. Not as natural as Avene though.
I have a recent review on it also. Really I need to do an update video on what I use.

Thanks 🙏🏻 so much for your quick and detailed reply!
Yes, I get more oily during the summer as well! It’s frustrating because your skin changes with the season, and with complicated combination skin, you have to always switch products around. Thanks for the tips! I will definitely keep them in mind! Hmm… Never tried witch hazel for acne… You know, I’ve been looking for someone like you who is an Aesthetician that is reachable and knowledgeable about products like Avene, so I don’t believe it’s an accident I found you. 😄
It was your Avene Tolerance Recovery Cream video that led me to your channel! No one seems to talk about it much! I will say, in just two days my skin seems to look a lot better using it. I’m suffering from a skin freak out recently, testing products, and I don’t know if the water in it has angel tears, but there is definitely some kind of miracle in that bottle. 😁✨
I would love to see if I could work with you since I noticed on your page you do virtual consults. You’re a bit too far for me to come see you, but it would be very helpful to have someone like you be a coach on the side, guiding me in the right direction with my skincare routine. I’ve been battling issues and could definitely use some help. Plus, you and I seem to be on the same page. Even if it’s just emails back and forth and me paying you Paypal, that would be great! Let me know!
I will continue to check out more of your videos for tips! ❤️

This was a holy grail for me, but I do not like the reformulated version. Lactic acid was a key ingredient for me in the old version, the new one doesn’t have that and it smells chemically. Won’t be buying again.

would this work well for taking off sunscreen or would I potentially need to double cleanse? also I'm thinking of using tretinoin for my PIH/PIE but when people say its very harsh on the skin it kind of scares me from starting it over trying something like a retinol instead.

    • @aestheticiantrishmccarty1317
      @aestheticiantrishmccarty1317  Рік тому +1

For me it works well for removing sunscreen. I typically only need one cleanse but I don't wear makeup other than mascara. Usually double cleansing in my opinion is more for people who layer on makeup, truly they sometimes need even more than two ..but just skincare one cleanse is usually enough. I love tretinoin 0.5%! I have found using the XeraCalm Lipid Replenishing Cream by Avène over top keeps me from having the harsh side effects. It still may happen at first if you've never used it but it hasn't happened again to me since layering it with XeraCalm hope that helps! RetrinAL would be very helpful too but tretinoin is much faster at removing unwanted pigmentation from scars.
