  • A lot of people think you need a carpet extractor to remove stains on upholstery. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m not a huge fan of carpet extractors I prefer to use the right chemicals incorrect technique with a professional steamer to get the desired result. It’s better for the customer because their interior is not saturated with excess liquid. It’s better for me because it’s faster, so I become more profitable. In this video I’m using my chief steamer 100 and the three step system from P & S. Follow the links below to pick these products out for yourself.

    Hi Gary.. Frank here with Costa Mobile Detailing. I actually got rid of my Mytee Extractor and went to encapsulation products by ReleaseIt. It's literally like an extractor in a bottle. All you need is Encap DS2 and Encap Hydrox. Once the product is applied to the upholstery or carpet it will dry and crystalize encapsulating any soil. Then you just vacuum it up and done! This will change the way you do interior details for sure.

    • @frankalvarado9594
      @frankalvarado9594 Рік тому

      @ZPollak it depends on the weather. On a warm day it should be fully dry within 30min.

      @@frankalvarado9594 Right on, that's what I was thinking. Just ordered their free sample kit. Going to give it a shot! I REALLY don't want to have to extract carpets if I don't have to... and worry about drying seats and carpets.

    After almost two years, I can’t say enough good things about the p&s carpet system. I don’t have an extractor, just a drill brush and a $150 steamer. Great video!

    My suggestion is to first use the steamer to open the fibers while lifting the dirt and then continue on .

    I use Koch Chemie POL STAR on my interior about 90% of the time. It literally cleans and protects everything inside the cabin (plastics, carpets, leather, alcantara, etc.) except glass. I have an extractor, but I usually only need a brush, some diluted POL STAR, and a microfiber to mop it up after agitating with a brush. I do use my extractor and steamer once or twice a year for deep cleansing of the fabrics and inside the cabin, but for any in between maintenance I just use a spray bottle of POL STAR mixed up. It's the perfect interior cleaner in my opinion and has a little bit of protection left behind as well. Another one I use for "maintenance" on well kept interiors is Soft 99 Wash Mist + (which can be used on EVERY surface inside including glass). I love the smell of the Wash Mist Plus and it's bottle is small enough to keep one inside your cabin at all times with a microfiber to clean up anything while on the go. It has a virucidal component to it also for light disinfecting. If I don't use those two, I use Gtechniq Tri-Clean which also has some light virucidal properties to it. Nice demonstration and explanation.

      Oh, I forgot to mention, I also use P&S Finisher as an LSP after doing any fabric cleaning. I have used the P&S system in the past and it is also one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with the P&S three step system (I have used it in the past) and it is still one of the most economical systems to clean fabrics in any vehicle. The last step Terminator is always in my arsenal to neutralize any products being used on the fabrics to help try and mitigate or eliminate the possibility of re-wicking or the stains reappearing later. P&S is one of the best systems out there, especially for beginners and people who want to get good results the first time! Probably the best comprehensive carpet cleaning system on the market today. There is also another new system (similar to P&S' system) which is made by Labocosmetica. It's a bit pricier than the P&S system but reportedly works exceptionally well, with or without an extractor although I personally haven't tried the Labocosmetica one yet, but I want to.

  • @Secret_Sun33
    @Secret_Sun33 Рік тому +1

    Using the steamer is pretty much as much work as using an extractor here and would deliver better results but granted this $1k steamer will give acceptable results.

    • @StaySlick
      @StaySlick  Рік тому

      The whole point is to avoid oversaturating the seats. It’s not always a good idea to dump a bunch of water into your fabric and the foam beneath plus you removing dirt that’s embedded into the phone and that’s not why were there we are there to remove the visible stains. Obviously, like I said before there are sometimes when you need an extractor. I have used mighty extractors and cheap this’ll extractors, and I don’t see a dramatic difference at all.
