Time Lapse Movies (Movie Mode) - EOS R5/R6 Tip 75

There are two ways to shoot time lapses on the EOS R5, as a still sequence or as a time lapse movie. In this video we're continuing out deep dive into time lapse photography by looking at the time lapse movie mode that's found in the EOS R5, the rest of the EOS R platform, and several of Canon's DSLR's released since 2015.
Unlike shooting a series of stills, the time lapse movie mode creates an a single video file that can be used immediately out of the camera.

Excellent! I'm really enjoying this series. Could you imagine a 15 year 3600 exposure timelapse?! Crazy! Also, do you reccomend manually setting the WB?

On one hand I want to say that you should use a fixed white balance, not auto. However, I almost never remember to do that, and I've never really had a problem with color temp changes in the time lapses that I shoot - though they also tend to be fairly short so the light doesn't change that much.

is it possible to grab single frames when shooting a Timelapse in the movie mode?

If by grabbing a single frame, you mean taking a still image while the time lapse movie is recording, then no. You can only do that with using the time lapse function in photo mode.
