@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors you are very welcome. Have you ever tried Slap Your Momma Cajun seasoning? My wife is Filipino and I am American. I have always loved cooking. I made a crab boil pot using this and it's now her favorite too.
What’s sad is blue crabs used to be about that size every time you caught one. (Talking about the ‘80’s). I’m not sure if it’s overfishing or what, but I remember a few years where suddenly every crab caught was way too small. And ever since then, it’s like they haven’t been as plentiful or as large as they were in the 80’s. I haven’t gone crabbing in 20 years though, so I have no idea about it anymore. Probably has replenished again. Maybe it’s just a natural cycle. It’s just that for about 10/15years where I was crabbing at, all the blue crabs caught were small. It was so bad, we just stopped crabbing. Had to throw most back. We’d catch all day and have about 3 keepers which isn’t enough for a family dinner, so we’d throw those back too.
We've found that crabs of a particular size hang out together, we'll find a spot where most of the crabs are small and go to deeper water and most are large but there are still plenty of crabs out there for a nice dinner. When I was a kid in the 50's you could catch a bushel with handlines or box traps in a day.
Those are giant crabs 🦀 y’all went to your secret spot again huh. Yummy enjoy my friends Thanks for sharing Sam and Joyce. Joyce I love ❤️ how you mix up the recipes from time to time 😘😘😘

Just happened upon this video. I live now in the Arkansas Ozarks, but when I was a child my dad and an uncle used to take me crabbing with them in the shallows of Tampa bay. The water was calm and crystal clear, and only waist-deep on the adults, so they would merely scoop the clearly visible crabs off the sea floor with a crabnet, and plop them into a #1 galvanized washtub floating alongside. Then we would have a crab boil on the bank. This lovely couple has brought back for me some sweet memories. Subscribing.
Glad we could help bring back those memories, that's a lot of fun catching them the way you mentioned, Joyce and I have done it before. Thanks a lot for Subscribing

Joyce, I saw that if you put a wooden spoon in your pot when cooking crabs it won’t boil over. I tried it when I made hard boiled eggs & it worked. Watching your videos makes my mouth water. Keep filming !
Works every time for me. Both the stopping the boil over and the mouth watering. Here I am in North Texas, remembering the 70's, catching and eating giant Blue Crabs. Good times.l
Used to net big Blue Crabs w/the strong tidal change on the Bass River, Cape Cod. They would get caught in the strong current changes and we'd net them from a old R&R Bridge. Late 70's - very early 80's. Those crab boils were so good. Sweet delicacy!!
