Next time you're near an Auto Parts Store or Walmart pick up a can or PBBlaster Dry Lube and spray those seats lubricates without all the mess. Love the crab and shrimping videos !
Recreational crabbing is the same here in Ga, we can have 2 pots per person and if I'm not mistaken it's 4 per person for commercial crabbing. Awesome vid Ollie and much love to you and Steph
Attaway y'all 🦀 Hey i probably already asked / recommended this but if you never read Beautiful Swimmers by William Warner it is one of the best books i ever read
@SaltyReflections the book literally took my breath away. Made me shed a nostalgic tear or two and i don't do that kinda thing much. Warner is a very interesting man, seemed like a covert "diplomat". This work was an anomaly in his somewhat political life. He wrote one follow up but nothing else. He may have worked off the books for say, the UN. But it doesn't matter. This book is epic and should be read by anyone who loves the sea.
been missing the crab adventures- enjoy the shrimping as well though. Save those shrimp heads and use those as bait as opposed to the shells. Think that will help. Up here in NC, I have pots with and without the rebar, The area I crab has around 3 foot of tidal fluctuation per tide other than the occasional King Tide which is more like 6 foot. Good Crabbing to you !
Good hearing from you. I hope everything's going well for you. Crabbing is slow in our shallow marsh creeks. I guess it's too hot for them to be in the creeks. I'm going to have to try different areas. How's the crabbing been there this year?
@@SaltyReflections - I wrote a response that somehow got deleted. Crabbing up here has been good this year. Lots of grass which I believe had led to higher numbers. Small crabs have a place to hide. Seeing a few more sponge crabs which is nice also. I mainly crab the same area but do move around some. here with a Rec/ Comm gear license we can set 5 pots per person. I have my Comm License so I am unlimited as to how many I can set- Usually toss out 5-10 but have over 70. Tons of fun
@@chrisharris8925 Thanks for sharing the info. It's good to hear the crabs are doing well in that area. We haven't been crabbing enough lately to know how the crabbing is in our area. We're going to have to try some different areas and water depths to see if we can find them. Enjoy your time out on the water,

Yeah here in New York's the same thing just for a dozen blue crab is 35.00 a dozen and we have tons of blue crabs to catch especially in my area we catch lobster in our crab traps occasionally
Hello from Staten Island New York see when we fish here in New York we got to pay for a freshwater licenses but we got the salt water registration which when you get your freshwater fishing license you can get the salt water registration free and we got tons of blue crabs out here and the thing is we could use for the six crab traps as long as you go by the rules here in New York the blue crab got to be 4 1/2 to 5 in from point to point
In Louisiana we are allowed 10 traps or "pots" per fishing license. The crabs have no size limit and no number limit on recreational. We don't need weights but each has to be tagged with your license number name and address. 6" diameter float and 3 escape rings. 2 on top and one on bottom. Few other requirements but pretty simple to abide by.

You'll have to test the waterways around your area.
Great video good seeing yall
Thanks 👍Tell Kendra we said hello.
She said hi. We need to hang out hopefully this fall. When it cools off some.
Great videos! We are going to try crabbing in Charleston SC! Question. Where did you get the crabbing gauge?
Thank you. The crabbing gauge we us was given to us from one of our friends that made it. Good luck with the crabs.
Nahh we just like ur joking 😂😂😂
I sure hope so. We are who we am. LOL
I live in MD and crabs are very expensive. Number 1s are about 350 for a bushel of steamed crabs.
Thanks for the info. How much are the live blue crabs going for a bushel?
I'm going back to MD next month I'll check out the Price then

There're very few boat owners in our area that are using jet drive boats.
I can't see how you find them traps when you go back
I know the area well.
I have dry humor. Some don't get it, flies right over their heads. 😂😂
LOL. Have a good day.
No more shelling video’s.. miss them.
Try soaking your bait with some cod, liver oil mix it around real good you’ll see the difference
👍🦀
I'm thinking the shrimp peels won't smell like decayed fish as much as the other baits.
We've used shrimp heads in the past, and they worked well.
When you go trawling have you ever thought about the starfish and stuff you find because I would buy that
We don't keep those live critters.
how do you know where to find your crab pots
When I was a kid me and my dad sold blue crabs for three dollars a dozen
Wow. When was that? Inflation and price for demand isn't no joke.
You wanna fill a bushel of crabs quick you aught to run a 600’ trot line in the deeper main channels 7-12’ water.
I'm not sure if we can trot line for crabs here in SC. Nobody uses that method of crabbing here.
