"Cat scratched my boob." "My kid bit me.", but to be real, I feel bad for the girl who cut herself. I have a friend who did one, and I know it's such a hard time of people's lives. I hope everyone suffering from that or anything similar to be able to live a happy and healthy life.

It can be true though. My brother was working for a recycling company, and the truck hit the bin and caught his hand between a cement pole and the metal bin- amazingly it didn't break any bones, but he got what's called a compression laceration, which is where your skin is hit so hard it splits open.
He had to have over 50 stitches (because hands are complicated), but it is now the tiniest hecking scar, and he legitimately nearly lost his hand. He just also had good doctors.

Self harm scars are the worst. They make you remember what your were going threw. Tho those people actually admitted to it, I admire them for that. I could never.
This reply is so late but alot of people I know do it to remember what they were going through as it's physical proof that what they were going through was real and that they eventually made it through and that they're still alive. it can be a reminder in a somewhat positive way
As a person who has gone through hard times and has self harmed and tried to commit, I am truly proud of those who admitted it and showed the scars. They are love so much and glad to anyone reading this that your still alive today.

I’m so proud of the people who showed their self harm scars. I hope I would have the courage to share those lines up and down my legs. I think this video helped a lot of people feel better in their skin. It certainly gives me hope that I’ll maintain my clean streak and make it a year in October :)

My mom had to get half her collarbone removed due to an infection, and had a very visable permanent scar. She has gotten asked about it from kids, adults, and everyone in between - and my favorite reaction was from a cashier who was so moved and just the kindest person about it, speaking of my mom as strong and a fighter. That guy was awesome.
I excessively picked my skin as a kid, always scratching open wounds, removing scabs until I had deep craters and finally big scars. It got a lot better, but I still do it from time to time and I scar easily. They also last. You still see every little scar on me, so I look a bit patchy, especially in summer.
I understand this fully. I have a problem picking zits on my arms and other places like my face and back. It's to the point my arms are covered in little scabs because sometimes I will try to pop a zit that is not there or ill scrap off the scabs that have formed. Some time I spend hours popping zits becuase I use it as a way to help relieve stress and help me calm down. Some people even thought I had some sort of disease becuase of the spoty, rough texture they give off. I'm working on stopping this habit but it is realy hard to do, espeshialy because I use it as a safe space.
I also love your studio ghibli icon :3 My favorite studio ghibli move would have to be Howles Moving Castle and Nassica Valley of The Wind. I love all of his works though. Some times it depends on the mood of day for which move is my favorit. I can't wait for the Boy and the Heron to be relised into the U.S. I have heard great things about it and the art looks amazing. I don't want to spoil it for my self though.

As a person who's trying to embrace her scars that make her insecure, thank you. That video not only made me feel better for myself but it also helped me realize the real reason as to why scars aren't ugly. They are not just permanent skin "damages", having scars shows that we're living, going through shit that we've managed to get through.

this is strangely comforting to me, seeing people so comfortable showing their scares when i am embarrassed of mine.
i am delighted to see these people loving their scars, which i am struggling with. i remember before, i got a scar on my forehead because of an accident. since then i tried to hide it using my side bangs, because i am afraid that i will get bullied by someone. now, i am slowly loving my imperfections. i hope i will be fully confident with myself. 💜

I have more than 20 scars. All of them were received before the age of 13, and at that moment I was lucky that I didn't think too much about my appearance and accepted them. And even after a few years, I find more and more scars. I think maybe there are even more than 30 of them..

yeah my sister has chronic kidney stoned and has to have constant surgeries on her ureters to remove the stones because of it and it has caused bad scarring on them

isapg people dont self harm for attention and people that do are a small percent and as a person who self harms my biggest fear is people that ik irl finding out i self harm saying this can make people feel worst and like they deserve less and people that do it for attention have a reason they do also people can cope with thing such as self harm by using humor so this might be a way for them to cope i really hope that you wont say this to anyone else and maybe apologize to the people you did tell things like this to
