Also if you want all the same hangers but you have a heavy jacket you can double or triple up on the hangers you have. This keeps it all the same but also makes it more sturdy. 😁

This was so helpful!! I just bought my first house (ahh so exciting!) & I'm buying new hangers that match. I am leaning towards the velvet route because I HATE seeing my clothes slip off LOL. I'm buying a pack of 100 for $35 from target as we speak!

wow - this was truly amazing, I watched it before but I really missed over such a small point, is the WOOD HANGERS how they are spaced out , you can SEE YOUR CLOTHES so much better. try hanging 4 items and taking a picture with other hangers vs wood hangers, it looks so good!

I have a few wooden hangers for coats, a couple tiered skirt hangers (organized by season, the entire hanger goes in off season storage), and 30ish velvets for the rest. I have only one closet less than a meter wide.

Any ideas for making shoulder forms for velvet hangers (to prevent shoulder nipples on knit dresses)?
I wash and hang dry my clothes, so how easy it is to drag around a bunch of hangers to the laundry room, how well clothes dry on the hanger, if they get affected by the shape and dry with bumps in the shoulder, all things to consider.
Do you recommend hangers to use for sweaters?

It really depends on your wardrobe + shopping habits - most of these are pretty durable, so it's more about having some on hand if your wardrobe increases. If you abide by a "one in, one out" policy, you'd need far less, but if you're adding to your clothes regularly you might want to have more extras.
We also tend toward neutral-colored hangers, which are often easier to find matches for.

Great video! I wanted to know if you had a solution for me, because I live in an old apartment and my closet is not deep enough to fit the length of a hangeThey need to be diagonale to fit and it is not practical.

That's such a tricky design! Without seeing the space, we might suggest trying out accessory hangers for some of your items (since those are smaller), adding in a shallow drawer solution, and possibly investing in either a clothing rack or wardrobe -- if you have the space and budget.
Those oldie but goodie apartments are tough, but hang in there!

We don't have a specific hanger, since it depends on your style, but we do recommend clamp hangers over clip hangers, since the clips can leave indents on your skirts.

The velvet hangers shed which to me is a big negative - velvet dust on everything
Put them in water, it gets all the fuzzies off of them to prevent shedding

The biggest problem I have with hangers is that they're too wide for the shoulders on my clothes. Does anyone make hangers for narrow shoulders?

Hi Tommy! The wood hangers and suit hangers are great for heavy items, especially as they can support those bulkier shoulders, and also the Bend + Hook Hangers are rated to hold 20 lbs, if you want a slimmer hanger.
Oh man girl in the begging has the same sickness as me lol I feel like the clothes dye is gonna rub off on my other clothes so keep them apart. I know that’s not gonna happen but still. And as if they don’t just throw all your clothes in the same bag when you buy them anyways right.

Can you do a how to fold skirts and shorts and materials that are more slippery like silky type stuff?

Hi Bob! You are correct -- they don't technically need to breathe, but having a little space/breathing room in your closet is helpful in minimizing wrinkling and to be able to see what you have!
