Wearing a tricorne is peak masculinity. Totally unexpected. Well done, Sweden, well done.
It also make you look like a pirate
Not really@@seabass2198
Well the Italians wore bicornes plus it’s a hat in the early war so doesn’t really matter
The tricorne hat looks anachronistic but oddly enough fits well with the overall uniform.
In the American civil war they also had a unit that dressed like soldiers from the War of Independance.
@@David-bt7zt Correct, Simple History's video about this unit is pretty good. I appreciate that they provide the sources for their video too.
It fits because it is a part of the uniform…
Helps break up the silhouette a bit. Much like a Bonnie Cap. So it's tactically sound
Based Sweden for using a Tricorne in the 1910s
This is why I love Great War era uniforms, they sit between pre-modern flair and modern practicality
Unfortunately, it was highly inadequate in a battlefield where technology had greatly advanced.. with often fatal consequences.
@@jonathantan2469 petition to ban machine guns and rapid fire artillery so the French can wear red pants again
One of the most underated uniform. The tricorn feels odd because we're not used to seeing it in that era but i personally i feel its a lot better and more comfortable to wear than the belgian's top hat in their uniform
Ah, this is absolutely my favorite Swedish uniform, perhaps uniform in general!
I love the good blend of practicality and national romantic elements.
The callback to caroleans is subtle yet fits very well, even in the early modern times.
I've been in armé museum in Stockholm recently and seeing it in person is great.
Still, I wish they had the Caroleans magnificent cape. Never too late to bring it back
Cool that they still used a tricorne hat. Uniform lookin good.
Not still, that was the first time the standard infantry wore tricornes since it was replaced in 1779.
So they brought back the tricorne
@@ghostie7028 Cool that they brought back the tricorne.
The Italian carabineri unit used bicorn hats in WW1, very interesting to see the transition from showy, ceremonial uniforms to the more practical designs in Europe during the war
Cloth & leather pickelhaubes, kepis, caps, and shakos to steel helmets to protect against shrapnel from artillery shells.
A tri-hat in the Great War???
Unlike spiked helmets and red pants ?

@@denlillavatten.67yearsago82 I was being sarcastic
A Tricorn is very similar to the hat’s the Aussies wore. Only that instead of the brim being pinned up on only one side, it was pinned up in three sides.
Wow, I really like thats hat. Looks very cool
Tricorn hat
British Service Dress, the 1910 American field and garrison dress, the German 1910 field dress, and the Swedish 1910 dress have to be some of the best looking and most masculine uniforms of the period. British Service dress with the service cap gives off that rugged British fighting attitude, the American 1910 uniform with the Montana peak campaign hat has a boyish look of adventure. The German uniform gives off German excellence and tradition. And Swede is a little bit of everything.
I wish people can pull off that hat today
I can.
Yeah I mean everyone can if you wanna wear one go for it wear it with a casual suit
Yea
put that hat on, and then I'll be able to pull it off
Where’d you get it? Also could you do Swedish Uniforms over time.”
Right now I only got two Swedish uniforms. So I could another one with my Creolean one for comparisons
@@LordJohnHD you look good in it and the Creolean?
fit goes hard
This is pure gold. Your content is two very different things but both equally amazing!
Tbh tricorns would fit in just as well as the caps work by other nations. There’s no greater practicality in wearing the French capi, Russian field cap or German spiked helmet. The protection is still zero, it weighs the same, it’s not anymore conspicuous, and it probably provides equal protection from the elements.
Fascinating, that era had a great budget for wardrobe and gear supplies.
I have never seen a historical Swedish uniform before, now one of my top favorites.
Never tought an tricorne hat would fit well on ww1 uniforms and equipment
Not a bad uniform actually. The tricorn tops it off for sure.
Solution: make a sheet steel helmet with a large brim folded shaped upward into the tricorn pattern
looks absolutely amazing, love the tricorne hat.
Tricrone hats are awesome,i want one!
Very cool however I always wanted to know the insistence on suspenders in uniforms of this period. A simple leather belt to secure the pants seems much more practical. Ever try to run in suspenders?
Gud bevare konugen och fäderneslandet!!!
Tbh I wish it was in carolean blue with yellow cuffs, pretty sure such blue would have had the added bonus of night fighting.
where could one aqquire a M/1910 tricorn like that?
Military Historical Headgear on Facebook
Do a comparison video between the carolean era uniform and this one

Hey man, I love all your awesome uniforms, where did u find the bag around ? I search the same for an WW1 German uniform
Hope you will answer
That white bag is original 1917 bread bag i got at a surplus store for 10 dollars. Most online stores that sell ww1 German reenactment stuff should have the appropriate bags.
@@LordJohnHD thank for your answer, did you have some website to spit ?
Also that tactical harness/belt leather was on world war I/II french Soldier uniform, did you think about a video on French uniform ? (The iconic red/blue of the start to WW1 or the clear blue’s Poilus after)

That’s relly cool and if you don’t mind me asking where did you get ww1 Swedish gear and is there ww1 Swedish re-enactments because I wanna go see one
it's quite easy to find swedish military gear and uniforms in sweden, several sites to buy from

Besides the Tricorne they would do good on the battlefield due to dark clothing, Compared to the french and junk.

Hej! Snygg uniform men var på internet hittade du skjortan? Håller på med att göra en hel m/1923 uniform.
Det är en Tysk ww1 skjorta. Finns på de flesta ww1 reenactment sidor.
@@LordJohnHD Okej tack! Bra att veta!
Me hearing the music: 😌 fresh music
Just got my WW1 German M16 Stahlhelm
Didn’t the Swedes also wear a kind of kepi style cap?
Yes, this hat was to replace that kepi. Many officers kept theirs.
Wearing the tricorn straight forward as such, does it get in the way when you shoulder your rifle?
But who did Sweden fight in WW1!?
you do realize a military can have a military without actually being at war, right?
@@engiturtle65well they fought alongside the Finns and Germans in the invasion of Åland and Finnish civil war.

wouldnt you have a m96 swedish mauser instead of that one?
I thought Sweden didn’t fight in World War I
They didn't. But it's a contemporary uniform.
@@LordJohnHDthey fought in the Finnish civil war, which was part of ww1
@@johnsoldier8722 It was volunteer army. As same was in WW1, but number of volunteer was much less than Finnish civil war. I guess because Sweden biggest rivalry in history have been Russia so allied white groups rather reds which was russian supported. It was now or ever get Finland border country rather Russia. Even thought finnish red army ideology wasnt same as communism this was bad mistake Russian thought about Winter war because finnish red army ideology people was against Russia.
I remember this war . I fought at Somme and Ypres battles but i injured so the army dismiss me from the service .
