What I truly like on these uniforms is that in that time period most of armies had very different styles. Every uniform or nation was unique in certain things. Now we have everything almost the same.
“Tricorn” as it's usually called, is a later name given to it, so probably fitting this time period. However, when talking about the 17th and 18th century hats of this type then at the time they called them a “Cocked Hat” and that might be a good thing for you to know about sporting one very fine cocked hat.
Yeah Tricorne to distinguish it from the Bicorne, Tricorne is late 17th century fashion and Bicorne is mid 18th century fashion. Both coexisted and would have been called cocked hats at the time. But yes Tricorne is fitting for this time period.
Hey! Tre Kronor is theorized to actualy come from king Magnus Eriksson's three kingdoms. He was ruling Skåne, Norway and Sweden. He called himself king of "Sweden, Norway and Skåne" in official documents, too. It's highly possible that this is the source for the symbol of three crowns.
Maybe but the Swedish crowns could also be because of the three different kingdoms of Sweden, and I also don't think that they would want anything to do with the Kalmar union after the incident
Really interesting. I know almost nothing about the swedish Uniforms of WW1. Awesome, especially like the hat, maybe I am loking for one, too. :D Keep it up and greetings from the german cavalry of WW1.
This is very interesting! Some dragoons wore tricorns during the Finnish civil war in 1918. Could it be that the Finns took inspiration from this uniform?
question, how can i tell what regiment the ränsel is from? recently got a one (i believe it to be the 1905 but im unsure) , because it doesn't have the markings on yours, but it has markings on the big flap, one being the year 1928 and 12.k. and some others which i can't tell due to them either being faded or covered
I bought some old Swedish leather gaiters, they’re black and secure with regular belt buckles. Do you know when Sweden used these? I’d assume they’re for officers
Seems like it should have come in a textile or felt pouch like the later tin canteens, but you should know... A glass canteen is heavy, it's shiny, it's brittle and it clanks against metal or rock. It's very impractical from a soldier's perspective, though I guess they are cheap and easy to manufacture.

The Swedish army used the Gevär m/96 rifle also known in English as a "Swedish Mauser" which has the same action as German Mauser. I.e. the Gewerh 98 and the Kar 98K. Some were bought from Germany and some were produced in Sweden. It is still to some capacity used by the Swedish Royal Guard.

Yeah its awsome to see all the difderent ones
The glass is because of the Swedish glass industry being very good at the time, it was a lot more cost effective to make them out of glass.

Woah holy shit. Iv been looking for one of these hats for ages, neat seeing interest in the uniform.
tricorne style hats were quite common german colonial troops often wore a similar type of hat espically in south west africa and east africa.
Jesus christ the dripp, better dripp than even the french lol

Where did you find the Tricorn?
And the Mauser?
They're quite hard to find
love the three corwned crystal bottle AND the hat

I swear this guy looks exactly like the Napoleon TW skins, even the face! Uncanny resemblance xD
Najs video! Ha en go Nationaldag!
I actually have a I 12 ränsel m/1905 as well! Though I am going to use it for a 1923 at first.
Love it!

Unless there is a marking you missed. There is no way that I know.
@@LordJohnHD there are 2 other markings, but 1 is faded and the other is looking like it was covered

Sounds like m/39. The older version has the belt wrap around the leg. Its main use is for people that ride horses.
@@LordJohnHDhaven’t been able to find pictures of it in use, only the older brown model. Know where I should look?

where did you buy all this
Do you know where I could get me a hat like that?
I didn't see any loops or anything on the confusingly glass canteen; where would that go when on the march?
I imagine that they carried it the breadbag for ease of access.

Throat Drops, your voice sounds like battle with cold air... Chicken soup, helps. Try Ginger.
Did the Swiss military use there M18 helmet in ww1?
Later modified “hylsa för bajonettbalja”, should be sewn not revited :).
Anyone knowing where to get such an Uniform
Var fick du hatten tillverkad ? söker själv med ljus o lykta efter en m/10 i strl 61
Where does you get all of this?
The uniform is from Tailor and Arms, the gear is from online auction or army surplus and the hat is special commissioned replica.
@@LordJohnHD Thanks

they should have kept the tricorn it's kinda bad ass. That's the wrong Rifle that looks like a German K98 from WW2 ?

Who care ? They were never in action
Its still very interesting to see these uniforms, even if the countries were neutral
considering Sweden has had some of the best military gear I'd say people have great reason to care
You cared enough to click on the video and comment.
They fought in the Finnish civil war and the invasion of aland
