The more I watch videos like these the more I start to believe that debates are the biggest waste of breath. There is hardly ever a time where someone is able to convince the opposite party that their opinion is correct. You are just going to keep going back and forth and never come to an agreement…
Debates are for actual intellectuals. Unfortunately TV only allows morons with little understanding of the subject to actually have these debates. Idiots who only want to win and are so used to their echo chambers or are too in love with the sound of their own voice that they cannot fathom someone disagreeing with them, while being so emotional that they fly off the handle the second someone doesn't just agree wholeheartedly. Don't listen to clueless idiots have debates. Seak real intellectuals who are very well informed on the subject and listen to them debate. Not bogus modern day professors either. But really knowledgeable people who do not see everything through the visor of their political beliefs. Different at the best of times, getting harder and harder each year. But they are out there and you can learn so much from them. Don't let TV personalities put you off the value of debating.
Well yes, but also I believe if it was just Will Cain and Max, it would be a true debate. Will Cain, although i dont entirely agree with his politics, is a pretty smart dude. Max is also intelligent as well. I dont quite know if they would be open minded enough to consider each others view points, but just from what I would see from both of them, they would be a good duo to have some real indepth debates.

@oo70mar I don't think it's a matter of it being a correct instance of demonizing, but rather that the act of the demonizing when employed it is done in a way that is not entirely objective. You can condemn something that is blatantly wrong, but it should be done so without using jargon that just straight up alienates and clowns on the opposing side. That is dangerous and as far as I understand it goes against principles of journalism that many hold as sacrosanct. To avoid this you have to present facts as objectively as possible. Or else the problem arises. (edit: but it is super ironic how Will brings up this problem in a way that is doing the stuff he says is bad LOL. The discussion is definitely a nuanced one. We gotta be patient with each other and eventually we will evolve past this I guess)
@oo70mar it’s a dumb point. It’s not as simple as a “clear moral decision” as max himself described it as. Trump had the largest colored vote of any republican in the last 40 years.
