I think Jalen's point, which he did a terrible job of arguing, is that this is less a "super teams" conversation and more of a Kevin Durant conversation (and Demarcus Cousins who they BOTH overlooked) because of the move he pulled. A super team isn't just a team with 2-3 all stars because that's been happening all throughout NBA history. It's a team with at least 2 MVP-level players in their primes and at least 1-2 other all stars in their prime put together by the players themselves. When a GM does it, it's less on the player because he has no choice...but when a player does it, it looks like he doesn't want to compete or beat the best, which is Barkley's point. It's also hypocritical that the media will hold something against a Barkley or Karl Malone for never winning a chip, but also hate when a player chooses to go to a team that will near guarantee them a chip so people can't say, "yeah they're really good, but never won.".

Nevermind the fact that Jalen was talking about MVPs rather than All-Star teammates, you still make a good point. On the other hand, at 19 Kobe was far from the player he would become. Parker, at 23, was an unknown commodity. He was thought of as a system player at best, by almost everyone outside of the Spurs organization, at that time. Jordan and Pippen obviously, come the closest, but IMHO Pippen would have been no better than a second-tier All-Star, had he never been teamed with Jordan, and led by Phil Jackson. Having multiple players who were without a doubt considered, "The Guy" on their team just the year before with Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and let's not forget, now DeMarcus Cousins, is simply unheard of in NBA history. And that's if we don't even mention, Thompson, Green, and a pretty good coach in Steve Kerr.

KD is obviously the second best player behind Bron so yeah Steph isn't KD overall in terms of skills but he has proven to be a better leader and his chips will be remembered as something he truly earned not to say KD hasn't got time to lead his own Championship teams and redeem himself because he has. A super team isn't just a team with 2-3 all stars because that's been happening all throughout NBA history. It's a team with at least 2 MVP-level players in their primes and at least 1-2 other all stars in their prime put together by the players themselves. Jordan and Pippen obviously, come the closest, but IMHO Pippen would have been no better than a second-tier All-Star, had he never been teamed with Jordan, and led by Phil Jackson. Having multiple players who were without a doubt considered, "The Guy" on their team just the year before with Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and let's not forget, now DeMarcus Cousins, is simply unheard of in NBA history. The NBA needs to implement a rule that only 2 max superstar players are allowed to play to together. Because if not it will continue to happen every year

I disagree....teams of super-stars tend to all play exactly the same and get boring. I like defense, passing, strategy and grind. Rarely does that come from these mini all-star teams. Better basketball? No. Better highlight reels? Sure, I'll give you that.

I don't think Super teams that are created equally hinder the NBA but when you add players that you don't need like Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins then it becomes a problem because the competition dwindles away. Golden State Warriors had 3 all stars all they needed to do was find a small forward to plug into their system instead of just going to get a regular player they went out and got the second best player in the league yeah that's a problem when you already have 3 all stars on your team and then you go in at two more now you're practically unbeatable what's the fun in that

See that's what NBA fans fail to realise, the warriors need KD. The CAVS would've bodied the warriors in 2017 finals if not for KD. Without KD, the Warriors would've never made it out of the first round of the playoffs last season because Curry was injured the entire series. Also You really think the warriors had a chance against the rockets without KD? How about game 1 and 3 of 2018 finals, you think the warriors would've won those games without KD? Bron was ballin. KD's been saving the warriors ever since he got there. I don't care what They did before KD got there,if you look at the facts, They need him.

Six heads had to be let go including 2 of the starters of that team to make room for KD. They haven't won 70 games since. That 73-9 BS is way over blown. You should have a problem more with the 4 and now 5 allstars, not 73-9. I'm a fan of the Warriors, but even I have a problem with too much stacking the deck. Cousins won't play for months so let's see.
