Hello there Bdog!!! I think we can still get colored diesel around here, but for the most part all our diesel is unmarked and taxed to death!!! A simple task of changing the fuel filter can save some undue headaches. Full-watch and thanks. Hope you're getting some fairly nice weather now. It's been raining quite a bit here but it's needed. Have a fine week, Mike.
Hello there Don!!! I think our weather has broken away from the winter mode it seemed to be stuck in. We had a nice weekend and now it looks good for this week too!! Fuel filters are very valuable to have on our tractors and they do catch a lot of debris since most of the time our fuel is transported to the tractor in jerry cans. Well done Mike! The last time I went to my dealer I picked an extra fuel filter up. He is to far away to go just for a filter so now I have one with me when it's time to change! Have a good weekend my friend!!

One more reason to change the fuel filter is the presence of paraffin in the number 2 diesel known as summer diesel. This paraffin, in the cold, crystallizes and blocks the filter. Even if you change the diesel for number 1, winter diesel, it is better to change the filter before the cold season because it contains a little of this paraffin. And of course water is the other big problem.
How's she goin'? The diesel I use I get in winter so the paraffin is not so much of a problem for me but it still is a concern for sure. Moisture, however, is always a threat. I store the tractor in a temporary shelter and it's a condensation factory!!! Thanks for tuning in and take care!!!

How's she goin'? Thanks a lot for watching and for commenting. You know what, I don't think I do have a video about changing the hydraulic fluids. I thought I did. @@dtruth5769 How's she goin'? You certainly aren't a pain!! I enjoy getting questions so ask away!!! But, I have to say, there are no spark plugs in a diesel engine, so there is no video about that. I did check my glow plugs once. Since a diesel engine depends on heat build up and compression of the diesel fuel in the cylinder for combustion, glow plugs are used to heat up the cylinder prior to starting. Since my engine is hard to start in the cold I thought maybe I had a bad glow plug or 2. But they were all OK. Sorry, I have no video about this check either!!! Anyway, I sure enjoyed your question. Hi Mike - have you ever done any work on your steering column in your GC2300? I have the same tractor and people have used the steering wheel to get up and onto the tractor and the steering wheel needs to be tightened and the column adjusted. Thank you, Chris
How's she goin' Chris? Welcome to the channel!!! Yes I have done work on my steering wheel'mount. Like you say, I used the steering wheel all the time to get on the tractor. The steering wheel goes directly to a bi-direction hydraulic valve for the power steering and so no steering column as such. But this bi-direction hydraulic valve is mounted on 3 rubber shock mounts. These shock mounts had hardened and were no longer providing shock mount characteristics. In fact there were so worn the steering wheel felt like it was about to fall off. To remedy this I mounted the hydraulic valve solid to the dash mount and added a hand grip on the cab cross member just above the steering wheel. I can use this hand grip from either side and it certainly takes the wear and tear off the steering wheel. I think it is a great solution to grabbing the wheel.
