- Join me as I blast this iconic Seadoo XP 717 1995 around @158performance4 lake. Guys this machine just never gets old, for me it has the perfect power to weight ratio, it keeps you guessing, questions you as a rider that the new gen just doesn't, and to top it off, the sound is 2 stroke heaven.
In this video you will see me do some hot laps of the lake, some spins and also a race against my Dad on the Seadoo Spark TRIXX, where there was a very close call. Its always a super close battle with the Spark as these 2 machines are so closely matched in both size and design philosophy. The Spark really is the modern day remake of the X4 XP.

Just a change in sponsons will turn that thing into a slot car. Trim tabs can also be changed out for modified ones. Stock sponsons on a full blown course is dangerous. Even the old 92' hull with some mod sponsons is deadly for the difference they make in handling. There were racers still using the old hull until 1994 because the 93-94 hulls had some defects that a lot of people didn't like such as a dangerous speed wobble or "chine walking". The 95' XP's didn't look any different other than color but when I jumped on one I realized the hull was a huge improvement over 93-94.
It crazy you should say about the 'speed wobble', if you watch min 8.48 in the video, I think you see the 'speed wobble'. To be honest though, I think that just adds to it, I'm not a big fan of rider compliance and these sort of quirks you get when riding the X4 95, I love as keeps you guessing. I do 100% agree though, I would love to ride a full race trim version of a 787 to feel how the X4 behaves, with the best in class mods on it, that gets rid of the stock negative characteristics (if you can call them that). Outside a race context the XP for me is a spin machine that puts a smile on my face 💪
I think the reality of how I ride mine though is, I dip in and out of it along side so many other skis in my collection, I enjoy it for what it is this many years removed vs messing with it. I have the 1992 XP and boy that thing lets go fast as its such a flat bottom ski running the SP hull. Thanks for watching dude ✌
My 93 xp does that on glassy water. It’s 717 swapped and made it worse.

do you use 40:1 or 50:1 premix in these older 2 strokes?

You make all us to ask for old 2str bombardier.. I think if they made some spark with 2 str engine ..many of us go to get one
Man I would lose my mind if they brought back a 2 stroke in a spark but that is very very unlikely, a faster 4 stroke spark will happen mark my words, but never a 2 stroke dude too much eco stuff these days. Thank you for watching 😎
@@classicjetskis ktm made 2 strokes lot of power and fuel injected...2 cylinders from ktm exc300 in 1 case with new crank and all injectors and software from bikes and can made easy and cheap 120ps 600cc 2 stroke and all that be very very light and also eco friendly

Is that a 60hp or 90hp Spark?
That 717cc XP is 85hp..so itll be way faster than a 60hp Spark, but neck and neck with a 90hp Spark. Of course you need to get a 787 XP X4. Maybe a 96 XP or a 99 SPX.
