I really enjoy making these little kittens for children during this COVID. 19 pandemic. It serves as a little comfort toy for them and brings many smiles including my own. I work on the frontlines looking after frontline workers children during the day. Thank you.
I made some medium size kitties (I used the red loom ) and sent them to my Dad's wife daughter who is a social worker. She is using them for family therapy sessions to help the children feel more comfortable. She says she hopes they don't disappear LOL. That is why I made them larger, little kitties, little pockets! 😀💝
Thanks a lot for sharing. This is actually the only video with loom knitting that shows the making of a toy instead of winter hats, gloves and scarfs. Awesome tutorial!
I love this pattern. It's quick, easy, and fun. A lot of people have asked about scaling up the pattern to the larger looms and I wanted to do that too. I'll spare you all the convoluted path my mind took to arrive at the numbers except to say that the original pattern on the 5 inch loom was a play on multiples of 5. So I went from there with the other looms using the diameters of the looms as my base. I've done one with the 7 inch loom and my friend's granddaughter loved it. But I haven't done a big or huge kitty yet so I'm not sure if the proportions are correct or not. I plan to make a whole lot of these of different sizes and then donate to our local women's shelter since they make great comfort toys. Bigger Kitty 7” - 31 Peg Round Loom Body - 49 Rows Tail - use 7 pegs Tail Tip - 6 rows Rest of Tail - 56 Rows BIg Kitty 9” - 36 Peg Round Loom Body - 81 Rows Tail - use 9 pegs Tail Tip - 8 rows Rest of Tail - 82 Rows Huge Kitty 11 - 47 Peg Round Loom Body - 121 Rows Tail - use 11 pegs Tail Tip - 10 rows Rest of Tail - 122 Rows
Hi Kathy unless I test the patterns I can not in all conscience say yes or no. I soooooo wish I could be more helpful especially because you will be donating them. Unfortunately time is just not my friend right now - can barely keep up with my pending task list. I will keep the information for possible future down time. If I test the information I will post the information. If you manage to get them done can you PLEASE send me pictures ... denise@loomahat.com.
This is the perfect starting project for young beginners. My child (very interested in amigurami crafts, but not quite ready for crochet) was able to follow along and stay interested- even with the intimidating sewing and embroidery bits. Thank you! Your instructions are so clear and so simple, there was no frustration at all in following along! He's so proud of his finished tiny kitty and excited to make more! :)

Hello! I love this video I’m going to show it to my nine-year-old and see if she would like to try it. Thank you for showing it to us and welcome to our UA-cam family!
The second time around I took watched and took notes. 4 pages worth. The 3rd time I had to pause and use a stitch counter. My sons are teenagers but still young enough to love plusies and they wanted me to make them one. Plus a few friends offered to pay me to do it for their little ones.
Oh wow, this is awesome! All I'd made before was hats and scarves, but your instructions are so good that I made this little guy with no problems! I used the plastic eyes that pop on from the back, and I just love it! Thanks for a wonderful tutorial and a cute project!
These little cat toys turned out to be the perfect size for a charity I knit for! I kit for a charity that gives hats, blankets and toys premature babies and newborns.
I love your videos...bought a loom set and a book and almost give up as everything looked so complicated. Then I started watching your videos and it was so easy. I’ve made a few of your hats and I’m going to start practicing with the toys as soon as I get some stuffing. Thanks so much!
I love this tutorial! I've made 3 now. The first one I doubled eyelash yarn with plain and ended up with the scruffiest looking "kitty" ever. So much fun!
