      @@small_fries7573 Oh stop it, He wishes much more of us than that pink-clouded kindergarden-level imbecile-level of lazy, Christ-abusing nonsense! As if we were creted the Crown of creation just to make sure we got to heaven! Such claims and comments is what drraws criticism, resentment and contempt and rejection/antipathy against Christianity. What about healing from sin, gettingto know oneself, encountering and integrating one's shadow and one's true self and being useful to God, fellows and the world? Growing up, maturing and developing some of our divine potential and human destiny?
      Sorry, i just so need and long for nourishment for life, healng, survival truth and healing development.

      It is alright to be concern or not know about what happens after this life. Fortunately there's a way to not suffer, not be in danger, not be poor, not get hurt, not have to work in vain, not have to feel any kind of negative vibe, and not to get tired anymore.
      Imagine you will be invincible, immortal, and holy with a new, upgraded body to the core! Imagine everyone around you will be the same as you. Isn't that a delightful thought? It's true you or anyone can have eternal life.
      All you got to do is to accept Jesus Christ 🙏 as your Savior! Once you do, He will let you into heaven during your day when you finally see Him!

      Life is unpredictable and issues usually come up. Anyone from any age is not guaranteed tomorrow. Even young people should think 🤔 about heaven ✨️ or hell 🔥.
      Therefore if you want to spend eternity on heaven after your life here on earth 🌎, you should believe in your heart ❤️ that Jesus Christ is your Savior. If you don't, you will miss going to heaven and end up in the lake of fire. It is terrible so I beg you to make the only correct decision for God to allow you to go to heaven. Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. 🙏 Have a nice day.

    Thank you Dr. Snipes for doing this video on anger. I have had a problem with anger all my life. Anger serves as a safety mechanism. The problem is I have very little control over it. When I get angry, it goes from 0 to 200 in seconds. Then, it causes me to dislike myself. Thank you Dr. for making me aware of how anger plays it's role. You make excellent suggestions. The square breathing, unhooking, and the positive mantras, and keeping an anger journal are excellent techniques. Through your video, you have reminded me of the use of the BETA test. Distress tolerance tapes are helpful.

    Anger is a natural, normal emotion. Anger is designed to keep us safe.
    When we feel angry it means there *might* be a threat and your body is giving you energy to check it out and respond if necessary.
    Nurturing anger, holding on to resentments or being aggressive are rarely a good use of energy.

    I've been suffering from anger issues ever since I was in my teens. I'm already 33 now and I have a family, but I still can't seem to control my anger. While I do not lash out at my child and wife, it's my neighbors I hate deeply, and I've developed this reputation around our neighborhood of being the local grumpy dude. I hate feeling this way since it only leaves me with regret. While I do not want to socialize at all with my neighbors, I also want to be free from these feelings. Thank you, Dr. Snipes, for these tips. I will follow them religiously to hopefully overcome these demons.

    For almost 18 years, my tag line has been "have the courage of your convictions, or get them out of my face" I don't fear the anger or the rage anymore, It's why as an ENFP I can love so hard. What triggers me is deception, not the threat (cause like all ENFP's I have a certain level of elevated ego!!) So that is my trigger, inauthenticity, not so much fight or flight. The flight is not an option for starters. (again the ego) Stand for something, or fall for everything.

    I like the term agitated depression. I wish people would talk about the freeze response more. Anger is fight mode, anxiety is run mode, freeze is when you cannot fight or run. If frozen you may displace your anger or fear in safer situations.
    There is nothing wrong with anger, it is a normal human emotion. Aggression is an action which may cause harm. I wish they would have aggression managed classes and not demonise anger. The right amount of anger, expressed at the right time to the right person is actually healthy.

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  Місяць тому

      Thank you for such a thoughtful and nuanced comment! You’ve articulated a very important distinction between anger as an emotion and aggression as an action. Anger itself is neither good nor bad-it’s a natural response that can signal when our boundaries are crossed or when we perceive injustice. Learning to channel anger constructively is key, and as you said, expressing it appropriately and at the right time can be healthy and even necessary.
      Your point about the freeze response is also vital. Many people focus on fight or flight, but freeze is a common reaction to overwhelming situations, where someone feels paralyzed and unable to act. This can indeed lead to anger or fear being displaced later in “safer” situations, as the original emotions remain unresolved.
      You’re absolutely right that anger management shouldn’t demonize anger but rather focus on healthy ways to understand and express it, while also addressing underlying emotions like fear or sadness. It sounds like you have a strong grasp of this, and I appreciate you sharing this perspective!

    Quitting psych meds cold turkey left me with tons of neuro-anger. It feels Tourette like for I CAN suppress outside and let go at home, but man does it take an enormous amount of energy to suppress. In 26 months it has gotten better but I still feel like I have no chill, always tense, always painful tight muscles in upper back /between the shoulderblades.
    Ending showers with cold water helps a bit, but between a knocking out benzo on one side and the subtle effect of several calming herbs (valerian root, lemon balm, California poppy and many more, I take em all) there is being in an environment that is soft on the nervous system. I vacayed far away from the city on a remote island and I felt like a Zen master there! (Until I had to do bureaucratic stuff online in order to return home....)
    Add hormonal irritability from perimenopause and the fuse gets even harder to keep at a decent civilized length!
    The shame of having these outbursts is maybe even more of a burden than the anger itself. I know I have to have compassion for myself but not living up to your own standards makes me want to go in hermit mode which is also taxing on the nervous system for I need some human interaction preferably with people close to me but they are the last I want to witness my level of internal rage, for social embarrasment is one thing but knowing I singlehandedly damaged a connection feeds the cptsd toxic shame I work on to get rid off.

      Thank you for your insightful comment! You’ve touched on a powerful concept-recognizing that we often give others the power to influence our emotions can be a game-changer in managing anger. Taking back control involves building self-awareness and asking ourselves what deeper needs or boundaries might be fueling our emotional responses. Often, anger can be a signal that something important to us is being challenged, whether it’s a value, a boundary, or an unmet need.

Anger can feel exhausting, especially when it’s been a long-standing pattern, but the fact that you’re here shows a genuine desire for growth and healing.
      Breaking the cycle often involves exploring triggers, practicing mindfulness, and learning healthier ways to express emotions-which you’re already working on by being here. It’s a process, and self-compassion plays a key role along the way.

    I used to be a sweet person. Then, I started dating my current boyfriend, who is super toxic and has anger issues. After a few months of being a pushover and a doormat, I stopped. I unknowingly developed this mindset that I’ll no longer let him push me around, bully me into crying (his anger only stops when I cry). I’ll always fight for myself. I’ll never back down. If he wanna fight, game on! I’ve become someone I didn’t recognize, always angry and ready to break up at any second. I now realize that I never really wanted to deal with anger because it’s given me safety/power/control that I didn’t have. That’s why I always let it control me completely. I need anger to protect myself.
    Now, this strategy is turning me into an ugly person. I no longer need it. I’m trying to think that maybe not responding (not allowing him to control my emotions) might be the real definition of control/power. Your video is insightful.

      It’s so powerful that you’ve made this connection-recognizing long-standing triggers like safety, abandonment and control can be a pivotal step toward healing. These patterns often form early and can deeply influence how we respond to stress and conflict. Becoming aware of them is a significant part of the healing process, as it allows you to explore where these feelings originated and how they continue to affect your reactions today. By identifying these triggers, you’re already taking a crucial step toward gaining more control over your responses.

      Thank you for sharing that. It’s frustrating when setting and reinforcing boundaries-something healthy and necessary-leads to situations where anger becomes an issue. Sometimes, it’s not the boundary itself but how it’s communicated that can escalate emotions. Anger management programs often focus on tools to express boundaries assertively, rather than reactively, which can help you stay calm and clear while maintaining your self-respect.

    IMHO, what sit's behind anger, is betrayal. If you do not care you would not be angry, and the only people that can hurt us that way is people we truly care about. We can get furious at people, but that rage, that endorphin hit does not last long. Anger is far more sustained. Ask yourself, are you ever truly angry about people you don't care about, or do they fill you with momentary rage?

    When i get enraged it when my grandpa yells at me when I try to tell him something

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  5 місяців тому

      It’s understandable to feel angry when someone you care about, like your grandpa, yells at you, especially when you're just trying to communicate. It can be really frustrating when you’re not feeling heard or respected in those moments.
      One thing that might help is to try talking to him when you’re both calm, letting him know how it makes you feel when he yells. You could also practice taking a deep breath and stepping away for a moment when you start to feel enraged, giving yourself time to cool down before responding. Sometimes, writing down what you want to say beforehand can help you express your thoughts more clearly and keep the conversation calm. Remember, managing your emotions in those tough moments is a skill that takes practice, and it's okay to seek support if you need it. My anger ruined my 4 year relationship. I’m trying my best

    • @DocSnipes

      I’m really sorry to hear about your relationship. It’s clear that you’re committed to making a change, which is a powerful first step. One tip that might help is practicing deep breathing or grounding exercises when you start to feel anger rising. It can create just enough space for you to choose a response rather than react automatically. Another approach could be keeping a journal to track your triggers and reflect on patterns, so you can build awareness and develop strategies to manage those moments. Have any techniques like these felt helpful for you so far?

    Does anyone else get mad and for some reason after your outburst you feel drained and off all day?

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  8 місяців тому +1

      Feeling drained and off after an anger outburst is not uncommon. When you experience an outburst, it can be a sign that you're already dealing with underlying stressors or vulnerabilities. For instance, if you've had a particularly draining event, like the loss of a pet, or you're already feeling tired and overwhelmed, your energy reserves may be low. In such a state, an insensitive comment or an unexpected stressor can trigger an outburst because you don't have the usual energy to regulate your emotional response.
      Moreover, when you have an outburst, it can be both physically and emotionally taxing. Anger can trigger a fight or flight response, which consumes a lot of energy. If you're already vulnerable due to stress, illness, or fatigue, you have less energy to deal with additional stressors, making it more likely to react with an outburst. After the outburst, you might feel drained because your body has expended energy in the emotional response, and you may also experience feelings of regret or frustration about the situation.
      Understanding the factors that contribute to such reactions can be helpful. It's important to recognize that triggers can cause a reaction based on past experiences where a certain behavior was either rewarded or punished. If lashing out has previously helped you gain control of a situation, it might become a repeated response in similar situations.
      To manage this, consider strategies like mindfulness, stress management, and emotional regulation techniques that can help you maintain your energy reserves and respond more effectively to stressors. If you're interested in learning more about these strategies, I cover them in detail in my "Dialectical Behavior Therapy DBT Made Simple" series ua-cam.com/play/PLcB3trehXswh7N1BDbTKZGO0iGhkOeYWG.html&si=ng4jEXlY1p936Qi3 .

    I been with my boyfriend for 3 years and I have a serious anger problem to where I get physical with him every argument 🥲 I keep saying I’m not gonna do it again and end up doing it again. He’s a good guy and really trying with me. I’m going through a mental problem plus it’s hard for me to have kids. I have no friends and no family that I’m close to anymore and I tend to take out my frustration on him it’s not right I’m in therapy right now and that don’t seem to help. My dad just sent me that video I’m going to start watching your videos and following the lesson because I seriously want to change.

    • @DocSnipes

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience-it takes courage to acknowledge these challenges and seek help. It sounds like you’re already taking important steps by being in therapy and exploring new resources like this video. That shows a genuine commitment to personal growth and change, which is incredibly powerful.
      It’s understandable that overwhelming emotions and stress can feel difficult to manage, especially when you’re carrying so much pain and frustration. However, it also sounds like you recognize the impact your anger has on your relationship and truly want to break this cycle. That awareness is the first step toward healing.
      Some strategies that may help include:
      • Identify Triggers: Explore what tends to spark intense emotions-whether it’s feeling unheard, powerless, or overwhelmed. Recognizing these patterns can help you respond rather than react.
      • Pause and Ground: When you feel the anger building, try grounding techniques like deep breathing, stepping away briefly, or using the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding exercise.
      • Practice Non-Violent Communication: Focus on expressing feelings with “I” statements (e.g., “I feel hurt when…”) rather than blaming or criticizing.
      • Channel Emotions into Healthy Outlets: Activities like journaling, physical movement, or creative expression can help release tension without harming yourself or others.
      • Continued Therapy: It’s important to let your therapist know you feel stuck-they may be able to adjust your approach, explore trauma work, or recommend anger-specific interventions like CBT for emotional regulation.
      You’re already doing the hard emotional work by being open about wanting change. If you found this video helpful, please consider sharing it so others can find support too. For more in-depth resources on emotional regulation and healthy communication, visit DocSnipes.com/Clones. You’re capable of growth-one step at a time.
