    Here is Part 3 of 3 of a behind-the-scenes look at a weekend of coaching I had with Anthony Cambo (ABA Basketball Player) of the 305 Ballers out of Miami, FL.
    Anthony is an athlete that struggles with natural explosiveness, so I was flown out to Miami to spend another weekend coaching him. The first time down I came down we managed the following results:
    Standing vertical Initial - 10'2" (2 days later 10'4")
    Full Approach Vertical - 10'6" (2 days later 10'8.5")
    This time around our initial measurements were great and demonstrated the impact the initial sessions had on Anthony's ability to consistently jump higher.
    Standing Vertical - 10'4" (Initial Test)
    Full Approach Vertical - 10'9.5" (Initial Test)
    Day 2 - Retest Following Technique work
    CMJ - 10'4.5" (+0.5")
    Full - 10'11" (+1.5")
    Day 2 (Technique Drills - THIS VIDEO) looks at the handful of drills I introduced to Anthony to help prep his body for re-test and add to his arsenal of training drills!

      Thank you. I respect everyone I work with and I believe that's the missing piece for a lot of coaches. When you view the athlete as a person, you're able to accomplish so much more!

    I love your videos. Been watching them for over a month now and I am definitely going to invest into your programs. My goal is to dunk by the end of this year and by 2022, I want to enter a dunk contest. I'm going to treat this like a marathon and train intelligently.

      That's awesome to hear! We'd love to help you out! I would consider our Team PPA Online training vs. a single program. This way, we can coach you, breakdown your videos and give you progressive training that fits your needs!

      @@jumpguyty That sounds GREAT and I am definitely down for that. I know having regular supervision and feedback through online training would be far more beneficial than just a single program. I just checked the site and it looks like the link to the online training is broken. I hope that's just on my end but if you could send me a link, I'll get on it ASAP.

    I would love to see some drills particulary for one legged jumpers. Since one legged jumping does not involve the block, how do I properly train technique. What does is say about an athlete when their one legged takeoff is higher than a 2 legged takeoff. Does this mean the athlete is more fast (one legged) than powerful (two legged, more GC time)

    • @jumpguyty
      @jumpguyty  5 років тому +5

      Karim Debbagh so the last contact (take off) of a 1-legged Jump is called the block. Much of the philosophies of 2-leg jumping apply to 1-foot. There are some drills later in this workshop that are great for 1-leg rhythm. Thanks for your comment!

    My penultimate lands on the ball of my foot, is it fine or should I try to land on my heel first? If heel first, what should I do to transition from toe to heel?

    • @krazualtera391
      @krazualtera391 4 роки тому

      Probably better to get your heel in first to roll into your toes

    • @Streetzlegend
      @Streetzlegend 4 роки тому +1

      Two thoughts for me are. The heal impact absorbs more momentum. While the ball of the foot would be less impact. The difference being that you're involving more parts absorbing the pivoting point from horizontal to vertical momentum. Like the muscles and tendons on the mid and top of your food even ankle.. that might load it too much to also help push off the ground in the jump. I think heel may be better and also gives you a bigger step
