Hi Dale. This beaver set is an awesome idea!! Thank you so much for making this video. I love it when you make these videos for trapping beavers. The information you share is extremely valuable! Again, thank you.
Very good Dale, I've never seen that set before. Leave it you, that's a good one. Thanks You know Beaver trapping seen your Demo back in2005 at miles city Mt. Thanks again Dale
Thank you Chad. I learned this set years ago from Charlie Dobbins. It's been a great set for me through the years. Man Miles City MT that was a good convention.
I don’t like catching more then 2 beaver a day lol. Anything above 2 becomes work! I can’t do live beaver trapping here. Grizzly bears, black bears, lions and wolves would be running my trapline lol. And that would suck. Great video my friend.
I appreciate all of your videos Dale! I’m a nuisance beaver trapper in upstate NY. I would love your opinion on trapping young beaver. When you take on a job, the customer wants every beaver removed. I often catch the adult beaver right away, but the very young ones don’t seem to work sets like the adults. Any tricks up your sleeve? Thanks!
Those young beaver are tough Brian because as you stated they don't work sets well. Blind sets with footholds conibears and snares are usually the best bets for them. Thank you for watching these videos. I really appreciate you
Johnny Thorpes favorite traps for beaver was a #2 Northwoods on 2 ft Christopher. I think if caught by the front foot a #2 SQUARE jaw duke would be fine.
Any one if mine Derrick EXCEPT CHIPS!!! I tried chips on this set and they will mound from the bottom up plugging your traps. They really try to cover that lure up. So stay with swamp master or cypress breaks or iowa silver when using this set
Dale, I have question a little off topic. What are your thoughts on offset jaws for beaver? I have had a lot of success using your methods but am having more wring offs than I’d like. I was wondering if offset jaws would help? Thanks, Ethan
What traps are you using Ethan? Offset jaws work fine on beaver. But with my methods you absolutely don't want to be using big irons on front feet. I'm taking like the 750 the 850 or #5s . Those are designed for back feet only. Those big traps don't work on front feet unless you are drowning them.
I started off using #5 double longsprings but quickly realized I was doing something wrong. I’ve since switched to Bridger #3s and the problems reduced to almost zero but still periodically happened. I was just wondering if offset would hold beaver and maybe be a little easier on the leg. I will try it out this season and see what happens. I appreciate your reply dale.
unbelievable you haveforgotten more than i ever learned anybody serious about trapping schould take lessons from you you definitly think out side of box
Great set. I've never seen it before. I will have to try it out this fall. Thanks, Dale, for the content.

Well I can't take credit for coming up with it Chris. I learned it years ago from Charlie Dobbins. It's served me very well over the years
Gona try that mr dale
Thank you for watching Chris.
That is so simple its amazing. How are you anchoring your traps ? Thanks Dale
On 10 ft of chain or 1/8 inch cable just staked at the bank Mike. I never drown anything intentionally.

Would a # 2 duke hold a beaver?

@@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531 thank you for the fast response. It’s greatly appreciated.

Yea you should have close to 0 wring offs with the 3s. I lose 1 out of every 100 . I appreciate you watching Ethan
unbelievable you haveforgotten more than i ever learned anybody serious about trapping schould take lessons from you you definitly think out side of box
Thank you Steve. I appreciate you watching too
How are you anchoring your trap in this situation?
I run 10 ft of chain or 1/8 inch cable Mike and I stake on the bank at waters edge with a disposable earth anchor
Great set. I've never seen it before. I will have to try it out this fall. Thanks, Dale, for the content.
Thank you Ty for watching. I appreciate you
