Would you suggest this for a 200 square foot cabin? Got some acreage in nw Minnesota and it gets pretty chilly up there haha. The regulated heating and slow burn time really appeal to me and the small footprint is nice but i don't wanna cook myself in there if it puts out too much heat. The cooktop is critical and must have for me.

Our house is approx 1200 sgft and it heats the whole thing, so my guess would be it'd be too much. You also wouldn't be able to cook much on this, if anything you could simmer something. The Survival is bigger in person than I had originally imagined.
First thought that comes to my mind is a Morso for a smaller area.

Nice little stove, Woodstock is a great company. I looked at that stove for my little cabin but clearances wouldn’t work. What kind of burn times can you get on a full load of hardwood?

Small burn chamber for sure but by the dimensions it isn't as small as the pictures make it look. Our home is modest but it's 1200sqft and this heats the whole house. You can go a full 8 hours overnight and easily have coals to get a fresh load going. Going only hardwoods would have you needing to burn down coals in the morning we find.

@@Rix284do you need to use kindling to start after 8 hours?

Thanks really good stuff, I needed to see the cooking space on top. I only use wood in my off grid cabin, 550 sq feet. No gas, no electric no water. I have 6 cord of wood that's 20 inch length would that fit? I'm also interested in trying a reflector oven in front of the window which is small as you say. My old Stove has nearly killed me many times.

The space on top is pretty good, but I have found it to be decent at simmering food like a sauce, a soup or chili, but it doesn’t get a pan hot enough to fry, sear or boil any water. The trivets that come with the stove can technically be removed but they are held in place with a bolt through the top and a nut so you’d need to seal those shut to remove them.
This is Woodstock’s smallest stove and it’s how I heat my house through the winter. Would more than adequately heat 550 sqft. I go through the night with it regularly.
