well, in real life you don't even need to have the money your selling! (fractional reserve banking) On a serious note though, well regulated banking systems can be useful, as they allow for good business ideas to be invested into using otherwise unused capital in the form of savings. They can go a tad bit broken every decade or so, but for the most part, it is perfectly balanced...
You all might have a point if you were talking about central banking, like the Federal Reserve, who print money; either directly or indirectly (i.e. buying and forgiving debt). Private, fractional-reserve banks would not create capital out of nothing (unless a central-bank is involved). To put it simply, it's using a "fraction" of capital from savings accounts for loans, which return a portion of the interest that is paid back by the borrower. It does not create money, it uses existing capital - capital that is lost if the loans are not paid back. However, we have entities like the Federal Reserve and ECB that step in to disrupt this, which is the true source of inflation caused by fractional reserve lending.
Funny thing is that just printing money does fix it as we saw last month with US FED. Printed twice the amount of money that they printed back in 2008 economic crisis and suddenly it's all fine and stocks aren't in freefall anymore.

It was understandable certainly but it didn't really help the situation.
This is of course why inflation should never be higher than a couple percent. I believe anything higher than 3 is bad news generally?
At the same time this is also why America sucks because unlike european countries which adjust their wages according to inflation every year, America's buearacracy 'decides' when that happens. Of course many have reasons not to let it happen so it usually doesn't. This exacerbates the situation in America.
@@Cuuniyevo Oh yeah but printing money to pay for your bills is definitely a no no for any government.
@@Cuuniyevo Not entirely true, in my part of the world people hide cash all around their house and never spend it, causing deflation since it is removed from circulation.
Doing some Civ 6 achievements in my abundance of spare time and I thought "I wonder if that Pantheon spamming trick still works". Not only does it still work, it's crazy easy to do. Time to just get all the Settlers I need 20 turns into games. lol

24:15 communist elections in eastern europe after ww2 be like
That is western propaganda. The people had the choice of vote for Dear Leader or a bullet in the head. Also voting was mandatory.
Spiff is it weird that sometimes I just play the videos to listen to you talk rather than actually watch them? You really make me laugh man. ☕ thats black tea I promise
You could buy money with money? 😲🤔 Presumably for less money than you got back or there'd be no point, for once you may actually have a real exploit 😁 I've watched a number of your videos and many of your exploits are really just what I'd consider gameplay balance issues rather than out and out exploits myself 🤗 this is the real deal though, and boy was it a big one 😁
Aah yes a magnificent video by Spiff in this times
Like for the tea lord
So you’re committing sins in my presence?
I can explain
Damn those Coffee Drinkers Jeebus - Damn to Heck!
What does Spiff like more than tea? That's right, nothing. But a very close second is having far more money than he should.
Man if I was a game developer, I’d abuse and exploit the real-life game mechanic of UA-cam in order to get high-tier play testing and bug testing for FREE!
its not free tho cuz they paid him
Having a cup of beer and enjoying the video. Good job
