    ➡Yes, this is a re-upload and would LOVE to give a shoutout to the plugins that made it possible against the noise of factory facility - Arturia 76 compressor, iZotope RX spectral denoise, iZotope RX Declip, iZotope RX De esser and a little bit of stock EQ.

    What a fantastic tour! Andy is a real asset to the company and his knowledge and passion for the products he describes is clearly evident. The price point makes these speakers unattainable for the vast majority of people, but those who are fortunate enough to afford them will have a piece of technological art that will no doubt be enjoyed for generations. Well done all around.

    Many thanks for filming and posting the best B&W factory tour I have ever seen on the net, very much appreciated - awesome stuff!
    I bought a pair of 804D4s which I'm delighted with, and great to see manufacturing process in so much detail. I politely wrote to B&W to request inclusion on a tour and never heard back, maybe because I'm not in the industry nor a UA-camr. Great speakers, and love that they're manufactured in the UK and still with so much skilled craftsmen input.

  • @mpasistasyalanci
    @mpasistasyalanci Рік тому +5

    I was listening to a pair of 802s for almost 4 year ,almost every day, it is an other level of experience compared to anything I've heard till now. I was a student and an assistant in the studio of the public university of music technology and acoustics in Greece and there was a pair of those there. When I was waiting in between studio sessions that other students have booked, I was playing tracks that I love through them, the detail, the soundstage, the transients, the reverbs everything is mind-blowing with that speaker. I am missing that experience and I cant find it on any other speaker I hope I can have for myself, I totally understand why they might be the choice of a mastering studio. For beginners it was a frustration to mix on those and then taking the mix home to budget monitors to find the you were so impressed but the track needs a lot more work, the gap between those and anything that most of us feel familiar is immense

      Since you have so much experience and acoustical theory knowledge, maybe you can point me to reading material which helps to explain the concepts behind these monitors? Even if I had some lessons in the uni about room acoustics etc , I ll need more studies to answer your question, I just know what they have in their site and what they talk about in this video. If you find anything particular online let me know also. I also can not make any sense with that price tag for any personal use, unless I win a lottery or ill make rockstar level money and have a hypercar and those in my living room

    • @annode
      @annode Рік тому +1

      @@mpasistasyalanci Thank you for your response. I feel the same way about that price tag. It even angers me that they ask for so much and claim so much. Besides their theme about the lack of cabinet resonance and that diamond composite material that doesn't reflect back from the roll cloth edge as not to create wave interference, they don't say much else about their design. They have a blog (so called) at their site which doesn't say anything either even though the blog was meant to explain the design!
      OK, it's a mystery and I am very surprised to hear their sound is up to par with other mastering quality monitors.

      @Producelikeapro  Рік тому +2

      @@annode I felt the video demonstrates the speaker design and manufacturer very well. They are expensive, at the least the Top of the range ones are, however they are significantly cheaper than other manufacturers in the high end audio world and they get used a huge amount in Mastering Rooms (Abbey Road has them exclusively in all of their Mastering Rooms for instance), they aren't just vanity speakers, they are actual speakers used by professionals.

The major studio monitor brands that I come across are YAMAHA (especially the legendary NS10) GENELEC, ADAM, FOCAL, NEUMAN, ATC, TANNOY etc. I would love to know as to why B&W 800s are not more utilised. Studios need to mix and master music also taking into account the system of the final "customer". The average customer listens in the car, through earphones, cheaper speakers, etc. You need to listen at how your mix sounds like on those lesser systems to make them more enjoyable to a wider public.
      The people owning high end speakers will tend to buy music mastered on a better system, that will sound good on their setups, but not necessarily in their car, or through their hearphones.

    Very interesting.
    It would be nice to know if this company grew into its methods of manufacturing speakers over time or had a well planned aim for the end product and how to factory assemble it and then went out and had custom machinery built for each stage in the production.
    I've spent my pre retirement as a mathematician and really have little understanding of how in general production lines come together. I do know that oftem mechanical and industrial engineers are a large part of the initial phases of creating the system used in production.
    FORD and its airplane plant that built the B-29 among other planes during WW 2 is a great example of what I am curious about and I am actually interested in knowing what one familiar with the process has to offer.
    Should the gent demonstrating the factory processes see this post I'd be grateful if he could add insight to fill in my general question of how was his production line established.

      Great question! I cannot answer for them, however my guess it’s developed. That’s because they keep making advances in their product and technology and the machinery used to create that has got better and better.
